Add accessories to the top of your Sony FX6 camera using this Chrosziel Top Plate Sony FX6 Compact Designfrom Chrosziel. The U-shaped top plate installs on top of the FX6 using the four included captive screws, and it surrounds the camera's top handle, so you don't have to remove it for installation. The cheese-style plate features multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads all around the top and sides to add a variety of accessories such as extension arms, a monitor mount, an EVF mount, 15mm rod clamps, or other gear.

Q: 4. Once installed, can I still mount the control handle directly to the camera as an option?

A: Once you change the Rosette on the FX6 handle you would need to work with a cage and attach the handle that way. With the Chrosziel ARRI-Style/Hirth Rosette for Sony FX6 Handgrip Bayonet attached to the FX6 grip it will not be able to connect to the official Sony mount on the camera. The rosette mounts onto the inner bayonet mount of the FX6 handgrip and allows you to relocate the handgrip using a rosette extension such as the Chrosziel 403-FX6 handgrip extension.

Q: 5. Would this be compatible with the tilta top plate for the fx6?

A: We can only say the Bright Tangerine Top Plate Filler Piece for Sony FX6 would work with the compatible Bright Tangerine cage for FX6.

Q: 6. Is there any chance this fits the Sony FS5?

A: As the design of the Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera (Body Only) and the Sony PXW-FS5 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System are different, the Tilta Multi-Functional Top Plate for Sony FX6 would not be compatible.

Q: 8. Is there room to attach a Nato clamp along the entire rail with the original Sony handle in place?

A: The Bright Tangerine Top Plate II for Sony FX6 (B&H# BRB40041018) will accept NATO clamps. We would expect those not to fit well if the handle is also in place, but the fit will depend on the specific clamp.

Q: 9. does this attach only to a BT top plate, or will it work with other brands like wooden camera?

A: we only recommend it with the Bright Tangerine top plate. while the mount itself is not proprietary we can not guarantee that other manufacturers have the necessary mount in the right spot to enable it to work as intended.

[5.1 oz / 145 g] have this along with the tilta vmount battery plate. wouldnt go on a shoot without this combo. plenty of different screw threads for whatever attachments you need, plus it's sturdy as hell once you get it on your camera body. i leave it permanently on my fx6. 5

[5.1 oz / 145 g] I bought one of these secondhand, and it was having problems with the connection between handle and extender. I contacted Chrosziel with the problem and had me send it in, along with my FX6 handle. A few days later, I received both pieces back in excellent working order. The extender itself is sturdy, and is quick to deploy with smoooooth action. I like that it's very slimline and doesn't take up much space. As all you fellow FX6 owners know, finding a carry-on friendly case is pretty much impossible if you want to keep your camera built up. Not saying I can because of the extender, but this arm takes up less space in a case than the competition. 5

[0.47 lb] This is extremely well built, and mine came with an attachment that can replace the VCT wedge in the front and lets you mount a tripod plate (i.e. manfrotto/sachtler or euro plate) and attach directly to the tripod. 5

[0.47 lb] no issues whatsoever. have this and the top plate on my fx6 and it's a perfect combo. doesnt overheat, the ports are solid, and with good vmount batteries you'll be shooting all day without incident. I get several hours out of 1 battery while shooting on my fx6 with audio and using a ninja v. 5
