The Samson SR950 Professional Studio Headphonesfrom Samson SR950 Professional Studio Headphonesare designed for engineering, mixing, and audio playback. A: I bought these earphones for my son who is a video editor. He wears them for long periods of time daily and has no complaints. The cord is also very long so your mother wouldnt have to sit right in front of the TV. Please make sure that her TV has a place to plug them in as not all TVs do.

A: I am a musician and home recording enthusiast. I had a pair of these headphones 20 years ago and I decided to buy them again. They are just really good, basic, headphones. Whether you play keys or other instruments should not be what makes you decide. Headphones should give an accurate, flat response for whatever music you listen to so you can make decisions about your tone. I really dont want to spend over $100 for headphones. I only use these at night (when its too quiet to listen to studio monitors or recording when you cant have the monitors bleed thru the track so these were really the choice that made the most sense for me.

[9.1 x 8.8 x 5"] Great for studio and for field monitor use. Over the ear design eliminates most of the surrounding noise. Comfortable to wear for a couple of hours at a time. Excellent sound quality. Excellent headphones for the money. 5

[1.45 lb] I'm a bit of a headphone nut and have a collection of probably 20 headphones from different manufacturers and price points - going from $20 headphones to one costing in excess of $1200.00. I realized I did not have a Samson headphone in my collection. I must say I'm impressed by this unit. Given that they are studio headphone, the sound is very balanced with good bass and very pleasant high notes that are never shrill or fatiguing. For the money, these cannot be beat! 5

[8.25" (2.5 m)] I use high end headphones for detail midrange editing work and these to get the best preview of how ordinary people with ordinary headphones and speakers will hear the sounds. This is the headset I use the most for everything else and if I accidentally break or lose these they are inexpensive enough to replace with another SR850B. I haven’t heard a better set for the price. 5
