[Cardioid] Oh wow, what fun! I haven't used it yet in practice, but I can rave that this light kit is pretty fabulous. Small and so lightweight - one light's diameter is less than the length of my hand. The package as a whole is very nicely considered - the gels are plentiful and built into the light for carrying. The case is wonderful - stylish, well made, and with room for all the batteries you'd need for one shoot. Really pleased with this set! One thing - if you wish to go with rechargeable batteries - the manual recommends a very specific type of rechargeable battery (with a slightly higher voltage) that I could not locate. I went to a full-on battery store, and the manager had never heard of it, and was very curious. Maybe online? That said, the standard rechargeable battery seems to give it plenty of juice - it seems just fine - nice and bright.

[2 Hours] Over the past couple of years I've become more sensitive to the constraints of compact on-camera LED panels with respect to light output and dispersion patterns, and began looking into other options that would afford greater flexibility in both field and studio contexts of smaller scope though still configured into an easy to manage form factor. Rotolight's kit has proven its mettle over several months of regular use. It is a complete solution for small-scale still photographic and video projects, its very compact and portable configuration making it particularly easy to handle in unpredictable or fast-paced situations. Build quality is excellent with a well thought out design that intelligently leverages a shallow profile to maximum effect: a removable rear cover encloses the battery compartment for three AA-sized cells and also stores a set of seven filters for diffusion, and white balance and exposure calibration, along with a reference chart detailing filter functions. The rubberized exterior of the light housing and snugly fit front cover provide effective sealing against dust and moisture, and at 7 ounces on-camera balance and weight are hardly affected. Set-up/break-down is incredibly efficient and fast; Rotolights are also designed to quickly slide onto hooded shotgun microphones for a relatively snug fit when quickly changing conditions demand working with more simplified portable rigs. Unfiltered light output is equivalent to a 100-watt bulb. As per manufacturer claims, I get around 4 working hours running with non-rechargeable AA lithium-ion batteries; lithium hydride rechargeable batteries rather than normal Li-ion rechargeable are recommended for peak performance, but I haven't tried those yet.

[6 W] Two thumbs up for the Rotolight Interview Light Kit!!! It offers so many great options to enhance my lighting situations and the subtle drama is phenomenal. Very happy with my new secret weapon :)

[6 W] I do mostly video interviews and wanted to cut the weight of my light kit. I did a lot of research and turned to Rotolight RL48s. They are very light in weight and put out flattering light in interviews. Very compact, very power efficient and -- did I say -- compact.

[Cardioid] Great for quick shoots with a small budget. Compact and bright, great for documentaries, music videos and tight spaces. Well designed and a multitude of filters are provided. No dimming feature, but filters to dim light are included.

[70 dB] I now throw these in my camera bag on any gig I go on. They save my butt all the time when I need to fill in a scene or create a mood for a small interview shoot. I don't know if I would use them exclusively without any other lights but they definitely are great for adding a bit of texture to the scene. Will definitely be looking into using bigger Rotos in the future.

[2.3 oz / 66 g] Good light, but not adjustable. However a good set of filters came with the set making it very versatile. Will get good use in studio and off set. Goid accent light for backgrounds as well.

[2 Hours] this is not the brightest light you can get but the color temperature is very accurate and i'll take that any day over brightness.
