Reminiscent of the very first Lensbaby Spark 2.0 Sweet 50 Optic Pentax Klens, the Lensbaby Spark 2.0 Sweet 50 Optic Pentax Kis a flexible lens body designed for use with Pentax K-mount cameras and to be used in conjunction with the Optic Swap System. This Spark 2.0 is delivered with the Sweet 50 optic, which provides a clear sweet spot of sharp focus that is surrounded by a smooth blur, which can be adjusted depending on how the lens body is positioned. The Spark 2.0's accordion-like design permits nearly unrestricted tilt range, up to 30° in any direction, and requires the distinct squeeze-to-focus movement to manually adjust focus. The Spark 2.0 and Sweet 50 combination also avails an f/2.5-22 adjustable aperture range, 12-blade diaphragm, and a minimum focusing distance of 1.1' for working with close-up subjects.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a good place to start to use Lensbaby lenses to photograph interesting close ups of flowers? I have a Nikon D7500.

A: I will try as best I can. I am an amateur myself here are a few suggestions. First, what your talking about is macrophotography and while Lens Baby lenses can do this type of photography from what I know they are more specialty lenses. The Composer Pro as well as other lenses by "Lens Baby" let you change the point of focus. I myself prefer to use a good macro lens One technique I plan on using is called HDR photography. Photoshop has a limited capability which I plan on experimenting with. My first results are good but depending on you budget you can get other plug ins. My own philosophy is to use high quality macro optics and then use automated focusing rails (my future plans). Art(which photography is) is matter of creativity so you have to decide what is right for you and then get the right equipment based on your budget.

Q: 2. Can I see my own Shutter Speed and ISO when using the Composer Pro II and the Sweet 50 Optic on my Canon 5D Mark IV?

A: Yes.

Q: 3. Will it fit my canon r5? I have an adaptor.

A: Yes Lensbaby Spark 2.0 with Sweet 50 Optic for Canon RF is compatible with the Canon R5. No adapter is needed.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with my Olympus OMD-E-M1?

A: Yes, with the Micro 4/3 mount. It was designed for a full frame, so the sweet spot will go off frame sooner due to the smaller sensor. Ive only used it on my E-M 1, though, so I cant say its a problem. Happy shooting!

Q: 5. can I use it with the spark system?

A: Yes, the Sweet 35 is compatible with the Spark.

Q: 6. Can I use any brand of 46mm filter on the front of this lens or does it have to be a Lensbaby brand filter?

A: Any standard 46mm filter should fit the Lensbaby Sweet 50 Optic for Composer Pro.

Q: 7. Will it work with Nikon F film camera?

A: As the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic for Nikon F is a fully manual focus lens which uses the Nikon F-mount lens mount, yes, the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic for Nikon F would be compatible for use on a Nikon F-mount 35mm film SLR camera.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with a K mount, ASP-C crop sensor camera such as the KP?

A: Yes this lens works on Pentax K mount DSLRs such as the KP.

Q: 9. Will it fit my Canon R5? I have an adaptor.

A: Yes Lensbaby Spark 2.0 with Sweet 50 Optic for Canon RF is compatible with the Canon R5. No adapter is needed.

Q: 10. Will this work on the SOnya6000?

A: the lens baby site has a compatibility chart for sony cameras. It says it will work but you have to turn off the shutter lock

[50mm] This lens baby is the bomb! When done right my pictures have an incredible glow. This lens baby allows you to adjust the sweet spot of focus by physically bending the lens across the wide range of angles

[12] Nice addition to the optic swap system. Very easy to use with the on board f stop adjustment. Dial in the f stop,,,tilt to place the sweet spot,,,focus and shoot. I also find the 35mm focal length to be pretty useful for many photo opps.

[0.375 lb] I think this is a great optic for a specific range. It delivers exactly what it says but you have to be an informed buyer and realize its intentions. I love it. I intend on purchasing more of the available optics for the Composer.

[12] Love this lensbaby - know what you are asking for when buying a lensbaby but if you like LBs then you want this one in your collection.

[f/22] I already own the Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 and Edge 80 Optics. It took some practice and getting used to; but once I did, I had a lot of fun with these lenses and took some great portraits with them. I was excited to hear about the Sweet 50, as it's a great portrait focal length, especially for those with APS-C cameras like I have, so added it to my collection.Remember, this lens is completely manual, so you may need to dial-in the focal length and aperture into your camera's menu settings so they they are recorded in the resulting file's metadata; and/or carefully watch the manual focus and exposure cues in your viewfinder/LCD display. The key is to slow down. But get those right, and the results are some lovely, narrow sweet spot focus (depth of field) with deliciously smooth bokeh falling away from it. It's not in the same league as the far more expensive prime lenses out there: there are some amazing pieces of glass that can do this too. But tilt the Lensbaby lens around and things really get fun, with different areas/planes of focus with some diorama effects.

[Manual Focus] I use my Sweet 50 on a Scout body to do tabletop photography and have tried both #1 and #2 close up lenses with it for close work. Both combinations work well. I like the Sweet 35 also but the 50 gives me better separation from the b'ground. With the manual focus magnifier of my Pentax K-3 it works great.

[0.375 lb] I was looking for something to put something extra in my portraits and this fits the bill. Not gonna lie, it takes some practice to nail focus but the results are worth it.

[12] This is a nice addition to the Lensbaby swappable optics lineup and complements the Sweet 35 and Edge 80. It is nice to have aperture controls built into the lens. Quality is very good.
