Designed for measuring in-ear monitors often used on stage, the Audix TM2 Earphone Couplers for In-Ear Monitorsis an accoustic coupler intended for conducting tests on any pair of IEMs. Think of the TM2 as a measurement microphone system, but instead of a pair of speakers, you're measuring the frequency response and other performance specs of in-ear monitoring systems to make sure they're ship-shape for use on stage.

The TM2 utilizes technology previously found in laboratory testing equipment into a package that is agnostic when it comes to the brand of IEM in question. Thus, the system is an all purpose, simple, and effective way to test the performance specifications of a pair of in-ear monitors.

With a complete adapter set, any kind of in-ear monitor can be tested. Simply wedge an IEM into the earphone coupler, connect the coupler to an audio interface over the XLR output, and make the other necessary connections for routing test tones (usually a feedback loop of some kind). Then, you engage your favorite software for measuring equipment (Rational Accoustic's SMAART and Studio Six Digital's Audio Tools are two popular programs that will work with the TM2SP). With all the connections made, the TM2 will then be able to test an in-ear monitor, so that your artists will know their in-ear monitors are performing to the best of their ability. The TM2 runs on your interface's phantom power supply. In addition to a complete set of adapters, an individualized calibration file is included, as well as a carrying case.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are these new?

A: If you are referring to whether or not you purchase this cable from B&H, will it be new or used. The answer is New. However, this cable has been around for years. Specifically designed by Shure for the SE In-ear Series.

Q: 2. Can this still charge the regular "real" battery? While in camera?

A: The Bescor Canon Style AC Adapter for Select Canon DC Couplers is an AC adapter only and cannot charge a battery .

Q: 3. Is this flash bracket able to be used on the Jobu Jr. gimbal head?

A: Yes, but note that the flash bracket doesn't actually attach to the gimbal head. It attaches to the top of the quick release plate of your lens. It will work with any Jobu replacement foot such as the one available for canon supertelephotos or any double dovetail quick release place. However, I found it doesn't fit Kirk replacement foot well for canon lenses so I don't recommend pairing it with any replacement foots from Kirk.

Q: 4. Does this work with the SE846's?

A: Yes, it does perfectly, also is a good color replacement for the default one.

Q: 5. Will this connect to my individual mic or does it just connect to the system via Wi-Fi?

A: The Shure SE215-CL-Left Side Earphone Kit with IFB Cable is designed to make a hardwired connection to a 3.5mm (1/8") audio output source in the same manner as most other sets of hardwired headphones would connect to a headphone output connection on a device. This unit is not designed to connect to a microphone or connect wirelessly.

Q: 6. I often use the G3 Receiver for headphone monitoring and the transmitter/Mic pack to communicate 1 way. Why couldn't I do that with this as the earpiece? How different is the tip wiring?

A: This is a headset only: Connector 1/8" (3.5mm) Mono Plug

Q: 7. Can I use this with a laptop headphones jack?

A: Yes, the Voice Technologies VT610TC125 Earphone with Coiled Tube could be used with a 3.5mm headphone jack output on a device such as a laptop. Because the connection on the VT610TC125 is Mono/TS and laptop headphone outputs are usually Stereo/TRS, the earphone may only output one side of the signal, or may sum the headphone output to mono.

Q: 8. will this work for a feelworld ma5 5 inch monitor?

A: Yes it will. The Feelworld MA5 uses NP-F style batteries.

Q: 9. Will this work on his pocket talker?

A: Yes, this should work on a pocket talker.

Q: 10. Is the earphone removable like the standard SE215 earphones?

A: Yes, all the SE In-ear series besides the SE112's have the MMCX connection detachable earphones. The item you have asked this question on is mostly purchased to swap out a broken in-ear.

[68 dB] This mono ear bud works great for listening to the audio from the device you have it plugged into while allowing you to hear what is going on around you. I plug it into my camera to check audio when recording video and my phone when watching YouTube in public places.

[130 dB] I'm deaf in one and half deaf in the other. This item really helps. I can highly recommend it. Also the delivery price from NY to Auckland was very reasonable. I will be saving B&H to me contacts.

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] I like it. Its very clear. It's also good that when you listen to something
on the computer you can still hear when your phone or bell is wringing.

[130 dB] I use this earphone with a remote receiver hearing device during church services. It is comfortable, reliable, and delivers quality sound. And, it is less expensive than the original earpiece that came with the hearing device.

[26 dBa] Unlike headphones or even high-quality earbuds, the biggest attribute of this device is that you can use it while walking or biking without being oblivious to the traffic around you. The biggest benefit has nothing to do with its audio quality; it's safety.
