Ingest video footage into your computer for editing or streaming from a 4K HDMI source with this BZBGEAR HDMI 2.0a 4K to USB 3.0 Video Capture Devicefrom BZB Gear. The capture device lets you import HDMI video with up to 4K60 resolution from various devices directly into your Mac, Windows, or Linux computer with a USB 3.0 port. It then automatically downscales the signal down to 1080p60 to be delivered to your computer over its USB output. It supports the UVC protocol for use with numerous third-party applications such as OBS Studio and AMCap.

The 3.5mm stereo audio input and output jacks can be used to embed a separate analog audio source into your video, or it can de-embed audio for use with a mixer or speaker system. It also features an HDMI loop output that can display 4K video directly onto a local monitor. The capture device ingests footage using H.264 compression, so it can be used for live streaming by connecting cameras and gaming systems or for post-production purposes for video previews, editing, and storage. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.

The unit is powered using its micro-USB port and the included 5 VDC wall adapter, and a USB Type-A host cable is also included.

A: You will only be able to use one of these units at a time with a single device hooked up to it. Connecting multiple devices at a time will usually require a capture device with multiple inputs such as a Magewell HDMI Capture Card with 4 inputs or the AJA IO 4k which has SDI inputs.

[0.875 lb] I've had this unit for a few months now and I am very happy with the unit overall. The device captures various screen sizes and is perfect for capturing VGA and DVI sources from older computers that do not support the installation of a modern screen recording software. Perfect for creating video tutorials using older computer hardware. There was one issue many users have encountered when using the StreamCatcher software, and that being unable to move the GUI window from one monitor to another when using multiple monitors on a PC. This is actually possible to do, however it requires you to double click on the capture window to cycle through (x3) different GUI window sizes; Full Screen, Normal and Small. You can only move the StreamCatcher GUI window across to other Monitors when the GUI is in the SMALL window size. So you simply have to double click on the GUI capture window when you see your video feed, double click a couple of times...and you can toggle to the proper screen size and then move it across to your other shared PC monitors. :) Hope this information helps future users out there. [20 to 90%] I bought this device several years ago and encountered bad software issues in the past. But the latest software release is excellent, and a breeze to install (I uninstalled all old stuff first). As always, high quality recordings, but what's still missing is 'Pause recording", OBS can pause. Apart from that, best software ever. 5

[8.3 x 5.5 x 3"] I first purchased the StarTech Video Capture Adapter Cable, which did work but it took me several days to get digitized video that was acceptable. It also took a long time to end up with MP4 files. I had to do another conversion with an H.264 encoder which more than doubled the production time. After a chat session with StarTech I decided that the way to go was to purchase their hardware solution. It did cost about 4 times as much, but all of the heavy lifting is done in the hardware and not in software as was the case with the adapter cable product. The hardware figures out the best capture configuration for the video source, then delivers the digitized video to my computer's USB 3.0 port. The Stream Catcher software provided has a few configuration settings, but it's nothing like the complexity of the adapter cable product. And, one of the output formats available is MP4 which was not the case with the other product. The video quality seems very good. The device has a lot of additional capabilities that I don't need, but may be just what others need. Spend a few more dollars and get a really good solution to support your video capture needs. 5

[20 to 90%] I convert customers analog video & audio tapes to digital files using PowerDirector. 100's of satisfied customers. Now expanding so, will order more of the device. A separate computer & capture software is needed for multiple conversions at the same time. Device is very stable, converted tapes of 4+ hrs. without a hitch & has Video Proc Amp settings, not on the fly, I just use sharpening at 88. I have purchased 4 versions of PD all see the device. [20 to 90%] I was looking for something that might be able to record a specific HDMI output signal and so with the help of the excellent support staff at StarTech, and a little sleuthing of my own, I was able to accomplish that goal. All 3 things came together, the hardware, the support and some of my own initiative. The support staff spend over 45 minutes with me one day. If they can't figure out how to accomplish something with their hardware it probably can't be done. 5
