Q: 4. This doesn't make sense - how is the 35mm equivalent of this lens 16-28mm? And APSC lens's equivalent goes UP, not down. If the APSC focal length is 20-35mm, then the 35mm equivalent would be 30-52.5mm. Their other new lens, the 56mm is correctly advertised as an 85mm equivalent.

A: If the lens was used on an APS-C sensor, then the focal length would seem longer. But since it is made for the Fuji G mount cameras, the focal length is shorter due to the larger size of the Fuji GF sensor. It is a 0.8x conversion factor compared to 35mm film and/or full frame cameras.

[Proprietary] I bought this lens, along with the GF 45mm, from B&H to take the place of the GF 32-64mm that I tried for a few days and decided wasn’t for me, mostly due to its size and weight. I already had the GF 23mm, so these two lenses provide nice middle-ground focal lengths. While I like having f/2.8, I especially like the weight of this lens. The zoom weighs more than twice the weight of the 63mm - 875g vs 405g, a very noticeable difference when mounted on the camera. And, yes, I know the zoom is more versatile in terms of focal length, but for me, Ive just never enjoyed shooting with a zoom lens as much as I have a prime, and I think Im done trying. And while I’m not a fan of the external focusing on this lens, there are so many positive things about it that I can easily overlook this one weak spot. It balances extremely well on the GFX 50s and offers tremendous versatility in doing portrait, landscape, or even macro work (especially when paired with one the the GF macro extension tubes) . I thought I’d use the GF 45mm more often, but there is something about the GF 63mm that has led me to leaving it mounted on the camera almost constantly. It renders very pleasing images both in terms of sharpness and contrast, and has reasonably good focus speed, at least for what I shoot. It outperformed my expectations and I’m glad I made the switch. 5

[Proprietary] Even at f2.8 the detail from edge to edge at the plane of focus is remarkably sharp. Very pleasing bokeh as well. Love this lens. Hope Fuji will make similar ones with even larger apertures as they develop this product line. 5

[Plastic] I bought this lens to start me off with my 50s as it was the cheapest g mount lens. I wasn’t expecting it to be so high end optically and physically?! Fujifilm do have a reputation for surprising their customers, and this lens is one example in how they do that. Imagine buying say, a 400mm 2.8 canon lens at the same price, not realising that they are usually 10 times that amount. Then you realise what an absolute bargain you just got. Well, welcome to the least talked about g-mount lens, the 63mm 2.8. This focal length is available in the 33-64mm zoom option, but this lens is much MUCH smaller and lighter. This lens is an awesome travel lens. It is in that focal range that you could just step forwards or backwards a few steps to perfectly compose you shot. So light and easy to manoeuvre in and out of your small or large bag. Filters are easily available and not expensive as the size is very common. Weather dust and temp sealed for that extra ‘I just got a bargain’ feel. Fast AF. Cons - too cheap $$$, your left with too much change your forced to buy another g-mount lens?! - too light weight. My chiseled biceps aren’t getting the workout they deserve!! - optically too good, I’m like a cat a I hate surprises!! - build quality only just as good as otus series, meh! Who ever said otus was good anyway?! Every lens has pros and cons. A gave it 5 stars as the pros far out wat the cons Just remember, don’t screem in the camera store once you’ve bought this lens - even though you will feel like you’ve won the poweball... 5

[0.085 lb] I mean, it's a lens hood, from the manufacturer, so it should be perfect. And it is. Fits nice and snug. B&H was fast in packaging and shipping to me in Canada. I'll certainly use them again in the future. 5
