A: I just measured my cable, and each fan is approximately 2' and the bundled segment is about 6', so the total length (XLR male to XLR female) is the advertised 10'. You do not get a "bonus" 4' due to the two fans -- their length is included.

A: Sescom manufacturers their own XLR connectors which are metal.

A: You would need to do a calculation based on the electrical characteristics of your cable and the length to ascertain if the loss will be noticeable. But realistically your loss should be negligible using most balanced. I suggest a star quad type cable (4 conductor, shielded individually).

[Yes] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another. By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist. Fantastic!! 5

[4] Reduce output exactly 5db as per spec which is what I'm looking for. I'm using this to reduce Marantz AV8805 output to prevent Audyssey from setting the trim to -12db after room calibration. 5

[1.195 lb] This 6-pin cord was hard to find. But found it at B&H. It fits the microphone I needed it for and thats all one could ask. Its 25'. I wished there were more choices as I would have opted for a shorter length. 5
