For instance, if the "fanned" portions were 2' each and the bundled portion were 10', it would be 14' from a male XLR plug to its matching female plug.

A: I just measured my cable, and each fan is approximately 2' and the bundled segment is about 6', so the total length (XLR male to XLR female) is the advertised 10'. You do not get a "bonus" 4' due to the two fans -- their length is included.

A: If you are using a dynamic microphone yes. It will work.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Canon T5i/T6i?

A: If your camera has a mini or 1/8 jack you should be fine. I've used it with a canon 60d and the canon 5d Mark iii. It worked great for both.

Q: 6. Would this be suitable for cutting headphone level to mic level?

A: The Sescom XLR Male to XLR Female In-Line Attenuator (-50 dB) will bring a line level signal down to mic level, although it should be noted that a headphone signal does not have the same impedance as a true line output.

A: This cable should work fine with a CANON EOS 80D.
