Ultra-wide prime is designed for FX-format Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras but can also be used with DX models where it provides a 21mm equivalent focal length.

Two aspherical elements and one ultra-high refractive index glass element help to control distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and accurate rendering.

Three extra-low dispersion elements are used to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color accuracy.

Impressively wide 114° angle of view pairs with a rectilinear design, which renders subjects with minimal distortion in order to suit landscape and architectural applications.

Manual focusing design and a minimum focusing distance of 10.6" suits working with close-up subjects.

Built-in petal-shaped lens hood helps to prevent stray light from causing lens flare and also offers some physical protection to the lens's front element.

Front of the lens is threaded to accept optional 52mm filters. The lens is also compatible with an optional, dedicated 100mm filter holder.

Five-blade diaphragm produces distinct 10-point sun stars and specular highlights when stopped-down and photographing point light sources.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this include the lens tube slip rings? If not, may I suggest including them in the accessories page?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Aurogon FF 10-50x NA0.5 Supermicro APO Lens (Canon RF) does not include the Venus Optics Lens Tube Slip Rings for Aurogon (B&H # VEAURING).

Q: 2. Can one use intermediate f stops with this lens? Example 9.1?

A: Yes, you can use intermediate f/stops.

Q: 3. Blurb says "Auto Aperture Equipped with CPU chips and motors which allow you to adjust the aperture via the body of your camera. It also stores the metadata in EXIF to improve its convenience." But the pictures (manual aperture ring, no picture of electronic connections) suggest this is just not true. Can someone confirm this is a fully manual lens? If so, please update misleading specs.

A: There is a picture with electronic contacts. When the picture viewer is expanded, first column, fourth picture has a reverse-view of the lens. Or see this link here: https://bhpho.to/3mkBnyj

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with Leica CL (APS-C format)?

A: Yes it is compatible!

Q: 5. Will this lens accept a NISI V6 100mm filter holder?

A: It won't work because the hood is not removable so the hood will not allow the filter holder to fit on the adapter ring.

Q: 6. Is the hood removable?

A: The hood of this lens is not removable.

Q: 7. Anyone have problems with dust getting in the lens since it's not weather sealed?

A: To date, there have been no reports of dust entering this particular lens.

Q: 8. Which size of Tilta Seamless Focus Gear will fit the focus ring?

A: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1562190-REG/tilta_ta_fgr_5355_seamless_focus_gear_ring.html Please take a look at the link I have provided. The following Tilta Seamless Focus Gear will fit this lens.

Q: 9. Other than the Full Frame nature, are there any significant image quality or build quality differences between this and the older 2.8 version that comes in native Fuji mount?

A: This lens is currently the world's widest rectilinear lens. It being a Full Frame lens means it does not suffer the crop of the other lens, and consequently has a much wider field of view. It has a 135° angle of view. This is a significant optical achievement, and really separates it from the older lens.

Q: 10. Will the Lee 100 Filter system work with this lens?

A: Yes. But the following is needed in order to do so. LEE Filters 52mm Wide-Angle Lens Adapter Ring for 100mm System Filter Holder BH #LEARWA52 • MFR #WAR052 https://bhpho.to/39y1yzi

[Manual Focus] SO GOOD

[0.07x] I have been using Rokinon lenses for astrophotography for years and have come to expect great things out of them. Whether it is the 14mm or the 24mm I am using I don't want to end up with something I can't use at the end of a session.

After moving to the new Z6 I continued using my old Rokinons and they worked just fine. But I decided I wanted to have a Z mount Rokinon and do away with the convertor. The only complaint I have is the lens is heavy.

But the pictures are fantastic!

[Manual Focus] The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 has high resolution even wide open and is very sharp corner to corner by f/4.5. Color rendition is well balanced and provides excellent contrast. It's solid and feels like a quality lens in every way. The review stating it will not work on a R series camera is obviously in not correct. I've used this lens on a R, RP and R5 with absolutely no issues. The electronic aperture control works and the camera recognizes the lens settings You do, of course need to set the camera to release shutter with no lens to allow operation with any non-Canon manual lens.

The only minor negative is that you can't easily attach a filter to the front of the lens. The include, attache lens hood does provide some minimal protection to the lens however.

[Manual Focus] Get Those WAPs ( wide angle photos ) This is my first laowa Lens and I am not Disappointed. From all of the testing I've Done all the edges are straight and legit no Distortion on this bad boy. at f/4 there is slight vignetting but disappears at f/5.6, IF you're like me and using this for Real Estate this is the lens for you on Photos, f/4 for Video is a little low for Aperture in Video but if you're using a Full Frame System you should be able to push your ISO a bit more in low light situations but maybe not the best lens for Small Homes.

[114°] Use it for most of my work, great wide angle. Great light controls on the lens, easy to work with.

[Full-Frame] Requires very precise positioning of camera, subject and lighting to get the best out of it.

[5] This is fun lens, super-wide and it performs quite well. Not a lens to be used for Milky Way shooting, but great for landscapes or normal night photography, including star trails. Coma is fairly well controlled with its smallest f/5.6 aperture. If you are comfortable using fully manual lenses, this is a nice addition, very compact in the bag!

[114°] Excited to have these for macro photography, but buyers should know at least mine arrived dark grey rather than black.

[Nikon Z] If you're on the fence about Laowa lenses, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. As a person who normally buys strictly manufacturer lenses, Laowa is right on par with them and the Sharpness from this lens is unbelievable!
