Studio engineers requiring powerful, accurate monitoring will be dazzled by the single, white HEDD Audio Type 07 MK2, a compact, precision, nearfield studio monitor well suited for mobile broadcast stations, recording and home studios, multichannel setups, and VoIP conferences.

The rear panel features a Closed or Ported selection knob, a Low Frequency Extension control, and a Desktop Filter control to dial in your best sound. The 2-way design combines a 7" honeycomb composite woofer and a HEDD Air Motion Transformer (HEDD AMT) tweeter to provide an accurate frequency response of 38 Hz to 40 kHz with a maximum SPL of 116 dB (with two speakers at 1m).

The sturdy unibody casing features an updated lacquer finish for higher durability and better looks. The enclosure ensures that the cabinet remains stable and provides effortless audio, even at full power. The ICEpower amplifier offers 100W per driver and is universally powered for compatibility anywhere in the world. • Implemented in the MK2 and subwoofer models is the well-known Lineariser, a phase linearization tool that leads to perfect impulse response and audibly improved spatial reproduction
  • The MK2 version has a new and improved lacquer for higher durability and better looks

  • Users for the first time can choose between the energy and bass capacities of a modern bass-port design and the painstaking precision and control of a closed-cabinet approach
  • Removable plugs for the bass reflex tubes, together with accordingly designed filter setups, allow optimum results in either mode

  • HEDD Audio introduces a completely phase-linear Sat-Sub system. These are the first satellite-sub systems that are completely right in time by combining a phase-linearized subwoofer (separately sold) with a correspondingly time-delayed (group delayed) satellite output
  • Additionally, the listener can compensate eventual distances between subwoofers and satellites to stay with linear phase reproduction for the complete system

  • Woofer: 7" honeycomb diaphram
  • Tweeter: HEDD Air Motion Transformer (AMT)
  • Input 1: Balanced XLR Analog
  • Input 2: Digital XLR AES
  • Output: Digital XLR AES Through
  • HEDD Lineariser Disengageable Delay: 10 ms
  • Shelve Filters High/Low: ±4 dB (0.5 dB steps)
  • LF Range: Normal/Extended/Satellite (45, 38, 80 Hz)
  • Desk Filter: Small/Medium/Large (180 Hz: -1, -2, -4 dB)

Q: 1. I'm undecided between Yamaha HS8 and JBL LSR 308? JBL is much cheaper but is Yamaha that much better than JBL? I'm a big fan of JBL but finally it's made in China.. Where is this product made?

A: Yamaha HS8 are currently made in Indonesia.

Q: 2. What's the impedance of these headphones?

A: Tascam does not make this specification public.

Q: 3. What is single-ear-monitoring? Is it both channels in one ear?

A: The Yamaha HPH-MT5 Studio Monitor Headphones (Black) have moveable earcups that allow for single-ear monitoring i.e. only one earcup would be over your ear, while the other is not. A: Yes. That would be a best practice.

Q: 8. Can I get this bundle in the white variant? Not bothered about the woofer colour just the monitors . I know as singles they do come in a white though.

A: The white version is available I checked another reliable dealer but it is on backorder. suggest you call B&H and ask if and when it would be available they will be happy to contact our buyer for you.

[25.42 lb] I have not been exposed to lots of high end audio equipment but I do have some experience with different types of headsets. Listening to this while editing motorcycle videos for my YouTube channel really opened my eyes to the importance of a balanced listening experience while EQ’ing audio. You really can pick out a much broader range of frequencies that seem to be muffled with standard consumer grade headsets. This makes editing out wind noise very easy for me. In addition music sounds much more balanced than before and I can hear lyrics better. I got this free with the purchase of a Tascam DR-10L but when it wears out I will be buying another pair if they are still made at that point. Do yourself a favor if you don’t have a pair of monitor headphones and get these or a similar pair.

[Active 2-Way] The Senal SMH-1000-MK2 Monitor headphones provide excellent audio for dialog and monitoring of sound. I have another pair of studio head phones from a much more expensive brand and I can not tell the difference between audio quality of the expensive headphones and these.

As a bonus I love that these headphones do not look or feel cheap. Sometimes when buying products that are cheaper they tend to have a cheap feel to them, but these do not look cheap and they certainly don't feel cheaply made as well.

For audio monitoring and especially for dialog monitoring I think these are well worth it.

[96 kHz / 32-Bit] The Senal SMH-1000-MK2is lightweight, the cushiony ear pads and headband should fit confortably to everyone. I like the fact that the bottom headband side that touches my head is made of leather / leatherette, which is easy to clean with a mild detergent or 50% (max solution) alchohol with a soft cloth, rather than the headphones that are made of a mesh material which accumulates dirt and body stuff.

Additionally, I recommend buying disposable headband and ear pad protectors such as the Auray Disposable Over-Ear Headphone Covers (50 Pairs, Black) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1585973-REG/auray_hpc_45bk_disposable_headphone_cover_4_5.html
for the ultimate in hygiene thus keeping that letter finish from deteriorating due to skin oils. Once I tried it, I can't go back. I love having those disposable pads on every single headphone I own! They also make in white.

Performance: This headphone is excellent for critical listening for music and audio monitoring for video production. It has sufficient treble and the mid range boost vocals slightly and gently, just the right amount which is desired, thus maintaining the midrange mild, not piercing.

I tested this headphone listening to Metal, Techno, Classical and HipHop. It provides the adequate amount of bass in a way the studio meant to be heard, balancing all frequencies as a whole.

If you're a bass head looking for bass shattering headphones, where 99% of BASS is all that matters before the actual rest of the music, this is not the product for you.

Volume: With the impedance of 64 Ohms, even on a MacBook Air, it is loud enough. About 90db, which is loud enough . If you want louder, it will depend on the equipment you are using.

Therefore, I'm pleased with this headphone.

[Single Monitor] I'm not an audio specialist, but I bought these to get quality sound while editing my videos without having to spend big money on a sound system. I was pleasantly surprised by the detachable cables, the accordion cable that is really long and can stretch out, the sound quality, and the comfort of the headphones. I actually just ordered this one as a second to have on hand as a backup.

[25.42 lb] I got this as a free gift with my Tascam X8 purchase (thanks B&H!). The earcups are very comfortable, even with my glasses on. The sound is great and the included extendable cord makes it easy to use with my recorder to review playbacks of recordings on my recorder.

[25.42 lb] These came as a bonus with one of my orders. I was extremely impressed with the sound and build quality. I think this is an excellent alternative to the Sony MDR - 7506 headphones. They fold up the exact same way making them perfect for travel. The removable cable even makes it more versatile for a variety of applications!

[96 kHz / 32-Bit] Before I even get into reviewing these I'll say that the packaging team did a good job with these. Opening these up felt like a premium experience and something to expect from much more expensive headphones.

My primary use for the Senal SMH-1000-MK2 headphones is monitoring critical audio during video shoots. My sound people have said they appreciate the sound quality coming out of the headphones and the fact that they are light enough to be worn all day.

My other use for these is when I'm editing. My Bluetooth headphones have a very minor delay which can be annoying so when editing dialogue I normally switch over to these so my timeline is accurate.

They look great and come with a carrying bag and a coiled and non coiled cord which is nice. They break down small enough to just toss in your bag and have a the ability to lock so they don't easily come out.

Overall I'm impressed with these headphones.
