Capture dreamy, filmlike footage with the 52mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter 10% Densityfrom Moment. Available here in a density of 10%, this diffusion filter lets you escape the clinical, ultra-sharp look of digital photography. Engineered to catch and bloom light, the filter softens hard edges and provides a smoothing effect on skin tones, making wrinkles less noticeable. The ring of the filter is machined from aerospace-grade metal and designed to be thin enough to stack underneath another filter without compromising the field of view. This allows you to stack a neutral density or variable neutral density filter on top of it for shooting at cinematic frame rates and capturing motion blur.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I'm using a VND filter, does it matter if I put this filter in front of my lens or in front of the VND?

A: If your variable neutral density (VND) filter has 58mm filter threads on the front of the filter, then no, it should not matter if you place the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) in front of the VND filter or if you place the VND filter in front of the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density).

Q: 2. If I buy Moment 82mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter 10% would it work on Canon R50 if i am using Canon RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM?

A: The Canon RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM Lens (Canon RF) uses 55mm filers. Unfortunately, Moment does not have a 10% diffusion filter on that size. You can get the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) and use an adapter to make it fit on a 55mm lens. Q: 3. is this pretty much a Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter?

A: The effect of the Moment 49mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) is very close to a Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter.

Q: 4. What is the thickness of this filter, excluding the threading?

A: The thickness of this Moment 82mm CineBloom Diffuser Filter is approximately 6mm.

Q: 5. Are the gaskets already attached to the filters or supplied with the kit for the user to attach?

A: The NiSi 100 x 100mm Solid Neutral Density Long-Exposure Filter Kit (3, 6, 10-Stop) include filters with the gaskets already attached.

Q: 6. does this kit come with a filter holder?

A: It does not.

Q: 7. If I'm using a VND, does it matter if I put the Cinebloom in front of the lens or in front of the VND?

A: If your variable neutral density (VND) filter has 58mm filter threads on the front of the filter, then no, it should not matter if you place the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) in front of the VND filter or if you place the VND filter in front of the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density).

Q: 8. Does this fit the NiSi 100mm Filter Holder for Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens?

A: Yes NiSi 100 x 100mm Solid Neutral Density Long-Exposure Filter Kit (3, 6, 10-Stop) fits the NiSi 100mm Filter Holder for Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens.

Q: 9. Will these work with the smallrig lightweight carbon fiber matte box (#2660)?

A: Yes, these standard thickness filters can be used with the SmallRig matte box.

Q: 10. Do you use diffusion filters such as this one in conjunction with a UV filter, or without it?

A: I usually use the diffusion filter alone, without a UV filter. That is because if you stack filters there is a greater chance of getting reflections and ghosting.

[52 mm] I got this to go on a new lens that was a larger filter size, so I've used this (a smaller one) for 6 months. Love the look it gives to footage.

[52 mm] I use this while shooting weddings. 5% for me is the sweet spot. Its very subtle where you really have to look for it. Due to it being so subtle one can use this in about every situation and never have to take it off. The only time one may want to consider taking it off is shooting a reception.

[Glass] I'm using it for concerts, where it improves footage that previously looked more like a surveillance camera!

[0.17 lb] I bought the 5% for my RF 35mm 1.8 and it does a great job at diffusing the lights but very subtly. You can barely tell and that might be a good thing depending on what you are shooting.

The filter itself is very solid. I wacked it against a railing and I thought it broke, but it actually scraped the paint off of the railing.

[0.17 lb] Love the dreamy glow this filter gives to my photos. Don't like how it looks at night though, maybe it does look great when used with neon lights and such but in regular light it looks odd. If you use it with sunlight, specially at the beach, it adds a glow that looks natural yet dreamy and unique.

[52 mm] Great filter that has a nice bloom to lights while keeping image quality. The build quality is good and what you would expect for a ring filter. My only complaint is that the 5% 82mm is out of stock so I was forced to go with a 77mm instead. It would be nice to have the 82mm to match my 10% filter size for parity.
