Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I add handheld microphones?

A: This is a single channel receiver, you can use a handheld with it as long as it's made by Sennheiser and it runs in the same frequency, however you wont be able to use both the lavalier and handheld at the same time.

Q: 2. If I bought 2 of these, could I run all 4 mics simultaneously without frequency interference?

A: Yes, you can run up to 10 transmitters at the same time with these systems.

Q: 3. Does this allow you to rack mount the Sennheiser XSW 1 DUAL (SEEMXSW1DUHL )?

A: No, there is not a rackmount kit for the XSW-1. You would want to use a rack shelf: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1261093-REG/auray_rs_v_1u_one_space_vented_rack.html

Q: 4. with this mic work with my Canon EOS Rebel T4I which I know is cranky and will not work with every mic?

A: It will, and that little mic/line switch in the back in the important thing. Typically you would need to attenuate a line level to mic, but with this system you don't have to, just flip the switch to Mic.

Q: 5. Can this microphone be paired with any other receivers for use in field/documentary work?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SK-XSW-A Bodypack Transmitter that is included with the Sennheiser XSW 1-ME2 UHF Lavalier Microphone Set (A: 548 to 572 MHz) can also be used with the Sennheiser EM-XSW 2 True Diversity Receiver with External Antennas - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEEMXSW2A) or the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver with Internal Antennas - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEEMXSW1DU). The actual Sennheiser ME 2-II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector can be used any Sennheiser wireless transmitter that accepts a locking 3.5mm connector as well as wireless transmitters from other manufacturers that use the same type of locking connector and the same internal wiring configuration.

Q: 6. I have a frequency problem ?

A: Please e-mail us: askbh@bandh.com

Q: 7. Does this work on the XS Wireless True Diversity Receivers?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser GA 1-XSW 2 19" Rackmount Kit can be used with one or two Sennheiser EM-XSW 2 True Diversity Receivers with External Antennas, such as B&H # SEEMXSW2A. This is the same receiver that is included with many of the XS Series wireless systems such as the Sennheiser XSW2-ME2 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEXSW2ME2A), the Sennheiser XSW 2-835-A Wireless Handheld Microphone System with e835 Capsule - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEXSW2835A), and the Sennheiser XSW2-CI1 Wireless 2 Instrument System - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEXSW2CI1A),

Q: 9. How far can you be from the receiver before the signal starts to drop out ?

A: Every situation is different, so it is difficult to say what kind of distance you will get exactly, before the RF signal begins to drop off. Given the output power of the transmitter is 10mW, you can expect clear reception within 75-100 feet in an open space with low RF and a low squelch setting.

Q: 10. Can I use ASA 214 (Antenna Spliiter from Sennheiser or other models) for use with 4 systems/receiver EM-XSW2?

[960] This is my first experience with this piece of equipment and I'm happy because I don't have to use two separate receivers with the microphones. Quite convenient.

[1] For hassle free, simple and reliable sound, this system is perfect.
I plug the receiver into a portable battery, and use a Bose S1Pro speaker for a 100% mobile, battery powered system.

[1] three of these for video depositions. being as they are considerably different than the Shure set-up Ive been using for some years it took a little bit to learn their idiosyncracies. It has no problem telling me a given channel is not working very well but to change and then synch the bodypack is easy. painless. FAST. I'm using them with the SK XSW A bodypacks and the ME 2ii lav mics. They sound great. NB: I'm not putting a lot of distance between TX and RX. 20 feet? But a party left the room with her TX and, well, I muted her on my end when I heard suddenly talking to another party way down the hall... MY biggest thing was foorprint! I don't have the luxury of a lot of horizontal surface in my gig. Having TWO channels in each of 3 small boxes means everything. That's why I liked the Shures so much, until I didn't ( 5? 6 years? ) anymore. Pricey? A little bit. I've been around long enough - you get what you pay for.

[3 µV] Had originally paired a Sennheiser lapel body pack and handheld microphone to save expense. Then there was a need for these mics to be used simultaneously so needed to find an additional receiver and B&H worked with me in identifying one. It works well as a Sennheiser is expected to. Thank you B&H for the help your Sales stafferdid in finding the right equipment. The new receiver works great with the older microphone. It works as one expects a Sennheiser to work. Other wholesalers were not helpful but B&H was very helpful. Thanks, a Very satisfied customer.
