Capture dreamy, filmlike footage with the 62mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter 10% Densityfrom Moment. Available here in a density of 10%, this diffusion filter lets you escape the clinical, ultra-sharp look of digital photography. Engineered to catch and bloom light, the filter softens hard edges and provides a smoothing effect on skin tones, making wrinkles less noticeable. The ring of the filter is machined from aerospace-grade metal and designed to be thin enough to stack underneath another filter without compromising the field of view. This allows you to stack a neutral density or variable neutral density filter on top of it for shooting at cinematic frame rates and capturing motion blur.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the image quality be okay if I use two 5% cinebloom filters together? And will it work well?

A: Depending on the lens you may introduce vignetting. As you stack filters, the vignetting becomes more apparent.

Q: 2. Will these work with V5 filter holder ?

A: Yes, these will work with the V5 or any standard 100 x 100mm / 4" x 4" 2mm filter holder system.

Q: 3. Will this fit on the iPhone 16 Pro as well?

A: The Moment CineBloom Snap-On Filter iPhone 15 Pro & 15 Pro Max (10% Diffusion), B&H # MOCBFI15P20, is only compatible with iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max Moment cases. For the iPhone 16 Pro Max, you would need to get the Moment CineBloom QuickLock Diffusion Filter for iPhone 15/16 Pro/Pro Max (10%), B&H # MO107131.

Q: 4. This comes with some foam gaskets but don't the filters already have these attached? If so, what's the point of including extras.

A: Those are replacement foam gaskets in case the others wear out.

Q: 5. I've never heard of magnalium. I always by brass rings because they don't bind like aluminum rings. How does magnalium compare?

A: Magnalium is an aluminum alloy with 10-5% magnesium and 90-95% aluminum. It is light, strong, and resists corrosion. In addition, the strength and hardness of aluminum increase when it is alloyed with such substances as magnesium, manganese, nickel, chromium, zinc, iron, copper, and silicon. Magnalium—lighter and more workable than aluminum—is used in making metal mirrors and scientific instruments. Since it is 90-90% aluminum, cross threading may still occur

Q: 6. Do I need to take special care when cleaning the CineBloom Diffusion Filter?

A: To clean the Moment 82mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) I would recommend a high quality micro fiber cloth and lens cleaner like this one. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1097470-REG

Q: 7. Do you use diffusion filters such as this one in conjunction with a UV filter, or without it?

A: I usually use the diffusion filter alone, without a UV filter. That is because if you stack filters there is a greater chance of getting reflections and ghosting.

Q: 8. is this pretty much a Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter?

A: The effect of the Moment 49mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) is very close to a Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter.

Q: 9. What's the difference between this filter and a Black Pro Mist Filter? Is it fair to compare them?

A: The effect is very similar with the Moment Cinebloom filters. The CineBloom diffusion filter takes the edge off your digital sensor. It not only catches and blooms light, but softens hard edges and has a smoothing effect on skin tones, making wrinkles less noticeable.

Q: 10. If I'm using a VND, does it matter if I put the Cinebloom in front of the lens or in front of the VND?

A: If your variable neutral density (VND) filter has 58mm filter threads on the front of the filter, then no, it should not matter if you place the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density) in front of the VND filter or if you place the VND filter in front of the Moment 58mm CineBloom Diffusion Filter (10% Density).

[0.18 lb] Similar to a pro mist look but has it's own unique feel that sets it apart. the 10% is subtle, but higher percentages are available.

[0.18 lb] I got this to go on a new lens that was a larger filter size, so I've used this (a smaller one) for 6 months. Love the look it gives to footage.

[0.18 lb] This filter helps me get some really cool shots at night when I want lights to look more cinematic.

[62 mm] Great filter that has a nice bloom to lights while keeping image quality. The build quality is good and what you would expect for a ring filter. My only complaint is that the 5% 82mm is out of stock so I was forced to go with a 77mm instead. It would be nice to have the 82mm to match my 10% filter size for parity.

[0.18 lb] Love the dreamy glow this filter gives to my photos. Don't like how it looks at night though, maybe it does look great when used with neon lights and such but in regular light it looks odd. If you use it with sunlight, specially at the beach, it adds a glow that looks natural yet dreamy and unique.

[Glass] I use this while shooting weddings. 5% for me is the sweet spot. Its very subtle where you really have to look for it. Due to it being so subtle one can use this in about every situation and never have to take it off. The only time one may want to consider taking it off is shooting a reception.

[Glass] After researching for a filter to soften images captured on my Fuji X100V, I purchased the 10% CineBloom filter from B&H. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. The filter does exactly what it advertises; my images have a more cinematic look that I prefer. I would certainly recommend this filter to anyone looking to achieve a softer, less digital look to photos. And as always, the B&H experience was superb!
