The HoverCam Solo Spark II Document Camera for Classroomsoffers many advantages over a webcam when used for classrooms and distance learning. This document camera connects to your Windows, Mac, or Chromebook computer and features an 8MP sensor for capturing 4K video and 8MP still photos. The camera features a 10x optical zoom, and supports 8x digital zoom, for a total of 80x zoom effect. Sound is captured via a built-in mic with integrated noise reduction. Four bright LED lights are built into the document camera to illuminate your subject.

The HoverCam Solo Spark II connects to a computer to operate, and it features button control for autofocus, focus lock, zoom in/out, freeze, rotate, and screenshot. The free downloadable software provides features such as lesson recording, annotation over live camera image, picture-in-picture, as well as schedule and run Zoom meetings. The Spark II is compatible with a variety of connection software such as Microsoft Teams, Skype, Google Meet, and others. Four ultra-bright LEDs provide illumination of your subject.

A: This product is discontinued and is no longer available for sale. Should work on LINUX and will be recognized as a USB device. The device is OS agnostic according to the manufacturer.

Q: 4. Does it come with a USB 3.0 cord to connect it to a computer's USB port?

A: Yes, the USB cable is included in the box.

Q: 5. Is the device detected as a media device in Chrome browser?

A: If you want to use the Solo with a Chromebook, you can install a Chromebook version of the software, called HoverCam for Chrome, available at the Chrome Webstore. It will show up as a USB device on your desktop.

[2.75 lb] I've had the HoverCam Ultra 8 for about a year and have been very pleased with it. Another reviewer said it was incompatible with Mac, but I have no problem using the HoverCam Flex 10 software with it on my Macs. I mostly use it through the HDMI port anyway in a deposition video setup. 5

[Auto, Manual] Very comfortable. Have used it numerous times. Almost seems like an extension of my body which is very helpful when in a crowded news event. Very sturdy, even using my heaviest lens which did not swing back and forth but rested right on my hip for easy use. Raises and lowers with no problem. Love the attached zipper pocket which is perfect for carrying an extra battery or memory card. 5

[1/3.2" CMOS] After purchasing the HoverCam Solo Spark two I was immediately impressed. It was made of good quality material and the interface was easy to understand and simple to use. Once I plugged in the Hovercam I was able to find the application online and begin using the machine within minutes. Definitely would recommend this to a teacher. 5
