[42.3 lb] Bought this light for a shoot in Vegas after using the Mega LiteCloth 2.0 and it was a perfect solution for soft, professional lighting without all the checked bags.


I've used this light as a key for continuous light studio photography and packed it up to go to a brand story video shoot in the same day. It's powerful enough to be an incredible key light in most situations while also being one of the least invasive options for those who are a little timid on camera.


It does take a little longer for me to set up than a typical dome light but is still a great trade off for something so packable.

[160 W ] I purchased the Intellytech LC-160 for my home office.
I needed to upgrade my lighting for video calls and I also need to make video lectures for work.


I initially purchased a cheap LED panel and while I still use it for fill, the LC-160 was a huge upgrade in terms of performance. I have more control over the color of the light and intensity.


There are a couple of minor things...

1) AC cord to the controller box is loose so it can become unplugged easily. This could be good or bad... I'd rather lose power to a light than to have my rig pulled over.


2) Because its a Battery or AC connection, you can't use the auxiliary DTAP port unless you are using a battery to supply the light so you can't power your other devices. (I built out DLSR Video Shooter's studio on a stand) I wanted to use it to also power camera and my Atomos Ninja Inferno. (All on the same stand.) It would be nice to be able to use the DTAP, but I guess you can't have everything. Of course going with a battery, it would solve this issue.



For a third bullet, I would have included cost. While its not cheap, its definitely better built than other options. When COVID-19 restrictions end. I can easily pack this up in either their hard case. Because I can fold it... much easier to transport than the rolled up mats.

If your budget can afford it... its worth the price.

[42.3 lb] I started using the LC-160 with the original 1.0. Since upgrading to the 2.0 design I've been even happier. The new control box with the built in AC and new cabling system really helps speed up the setup process. Build quality is now noticeably higher on the 2.0.

Extended CRI at 5600 reads 98.6, I don't think any of my other lights look nearly as good when set to daylight as this one. Output is fantastic for a large soft source. If you're using it above 50% in doors, you're probably not using it right.

Buy a mini XLR to standard DMX converter if you're ever using DMX. Or just search mini XLR cable. There's a wide variety for $10-$20. I rarely use DMX though on this type of a light since it's my key for traveling gigs.

I had issues getting the app setup. Contacted Intellytech and they helped me in a couple of minutes. Great customer service and I highly recommend the LC-160 for a traveling key if you're looking for a big + soft + bright source.

[Proprietary] These things are fantastic! They have soooo much power. Great for travel or overheating lighting.

[3000 to 10,000K] This is probably the light that I use most often. Built quality is great. Really lightweight and quick to setup and boom anywhere. Color metrics are even better than advertised, especially for skin tones.

Velcro is shockingly strong and much better to use than alternative mats that use x-brackets. The profile is able to stay super slim with the included bracket.

I was really surprised to learn it comes with a hard pelican-like case making the value of this kit even better than I thought before buying it. That alone saves $150-$200 buying an aftermarket hard case. Fly with it all the time and stays in great condition.

Ballast is completely silent allowing me to keep it on a light stand nearby while I boom over the subject with no sound issues.

It's a great, lightweight 2x2 that I highly recommend having in the kit.

[3000 to 10,000K] I travel a ton and am on location a bunch. I uses this light ALL THE TIME for interviews, set lighting, etc. Not only is it light, but it's battery powered (I use the IntellyTech Pocket-Vs to power it), I can pretty much take this thing anywhere. Also, it's super reliable. I've had mine for a bit over a year, used it a bunch, and have never had a problem. Well made, light is clean and consistent and easy to pack. Nothing by love for this light!

[Bluetooth] This is SUCH a huge improvement over the hot & heavy lights of the past.

Loving the ease of use and portability, neatly packing into a really cool pelican-style case.

The controller has amazing build quality, smooth moving knobs and responsive touch screen.

The super sturdy mounting hardware makes it quick and easy to deploy with flexibility and confidence. Had a nice long IEC cable to go to the dc converter.

[3000 to 10,000K] Love how compact, soft/bright, and color accurate this light is at tungsten. Just note that it does not come with a remote control and the header cable is not very long from light panel to control box. Be prepared to buy either or both the remote control or an extension cable to go along with this.

[160 W ] I really like this light for my travel key light. The velcro is very strong. And the light output is much strong than I expected.
