This NiSi 77mm Close-Up Lens Kit II with Step-Up Ringsoffers the ability to achieve macro-like results with camera lenses that feature focal lengths from 70 to 300mm and have 77, 72, or 67mm front filter threads. A close-up lens is a magnifier that optically decreases the focal length of a camera lens placed behind it. This effect lessens the minimum focus distance between the camera lens and a subject. Magnification can then be obtained by decreasing the distance between the subject and the combined camera lens and close-up lens. On lenses with or set to a 200mm focal length, this close-up lens provides an approximate 1:1 magnification.

The lens in this 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II is constructed from two apochromatic optical glass elements, which include NiSi Nano coatings for enhanced clarity as well as more effective prevention of internal ghosting, reflections, and chromatic aberrations. Also included are a 67 to 77mm step-up and 72 to 77mm step-up ring set that permits the use of the close-up lens on other camera lenses with smaller filter threads, front and rear caps, and a pouch to store or transport the entire 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II.

[Close-Up] Used it multiple times already on a 24-105mm with great results. The camera still autofocuses as normal, just much closer (obviously). I'm primarily a portrait photographer and a rare wedding photographer. This is the perfect addition to get those detail shots without having to carry around another lens. It will always be in my bag just in case.

One thing to keep in mind is that this will eliminate normal range focusing, for me this was anything beyond 4'. So this needs to be attached just for macro shots and then removed for everything else.

[Close-Up] My goal with this was to be able to do macro without a macro lens for when I want to travel light. I stuck it on the end of a zoom lens and it worked very well! See the attached photo...

[Multi Coated] Only tested it on an 85 mm and I was very pleased with how it turned out. Can't wait to shoot more with it.

[Close-Up] I spent just one day so far with the close up filter and it is impressive. I have it mounted on a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 lens and D7100. After trying different apertures I found it preformed well from f6.3 to f22. One image ( I took 123 exposures) has a small amount of chromatic aberration which I could see at a magnification of 200%. I highly recommend the NISI NM-180 focus rail. The rail is well made and operated smoothly. All in all I very happy with the set up. And as always B&H is a pleasure to do business with.
