Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the proper way to clean the specs

A: If you mean specks seen through the viewer when using the device, the image quality of the object, depends mainly on operating characteristics of this image intensifier. Due to this fact black spots, which are inherent in the image intensifier, may be seen in the field of view of a viewing device. Acceptable defects, which may be seen in the field of viewing device, are given in the table on p.12 of the manual. If you refer to dust on the lens, then clean the lens and eyepiece optical surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with “lens cleaner” obtained from any camera store. Clean the lens surface carefully with circular movements starting from the center.

Q: 2. Do these come with a neck strap?

A: Pentax 8x25 U-Series UP Compact Binoculars BH #PE8X25UP • MFR #61901 In the Box Pentax 8x25 U-Series UP Compact Binoculars Neck Strap ***************** Carrying Case 2 x Eyepiece Caps Limited 25-Year Warranty Yes it comes with a neck strap.

Q: 3. How is the range adjusted to maximum range?

A: The rangefinder is able to measure the distance from 10 to 4000 meters without any adjustments ( unless the Gating feature is ON). However, you may want to adjust the focus by rotating the eyepieces for the sharp image.

Q: 4. What is the internal diameter of this rainguard?

A: Inner diameter of this model is 3.5cm.

Q: 5. Are Eschenbach binos German-made?

A: They are made in China.

Q: 6. Do I need any admittance to take it outside US? Is it legal to export it to another country?

A: From my understanding certain Laser Range Finders are restricted for export outside of the US. I would contact your airline company, as well as the manufacturer. It varies between different products.

Q: 7. They gave the batteries but no run time, so what is the run time? Or what's (Ah/h)

A: Unfortunately the Manufacturer does not supply that information. My apologies.

Q: 8. Will these fit snugly on the Nikon Monarch 5 12X42's?

A: Its impossible for me to say. Vortex only designs them for there own binoculars , they do not list any size or dimensions.

Q: 9. Would these be good for a person with a small face?

A: Yes this model would be good for a small face. They fold up very small, so they will be able to adjust to the eyes well.

Q: 10. How long is the chain?

A: It is about 34 inches.

[4.5 mm] The Eschenbach Optik 8x25 Sektor compact binoculars are a hit for me and my usage. Great travel bino's, fit in the carry on pack, and small enough to be in a pocket when out and about. I do a lot of traveling and it is nice to have a pair of bino's handy. These are a great middle ground in price and optics. The size never causes you to think, should I leave these or bring them? These are very fine binoculars, and unless you are more image conscious you will love these. If you need or want a small compact bino's, you can't go wrong with these. I am very pleased.

Cheers...

[4x] I was expecting pretty good quality at this price. Definitely not disappointed!
There aren't a whole lot of choices in the lowest power range of 4x, and this one was the lightest weight while also having a center manual focus knob and a right eye diopter adjustment. I am nearsighted with astigmatism and there is a significant difference in my glasses prescription between left and right eyes, so I need the diopter when using these without glasses.
With glasses on, however, the view was also great. Many binoculars give me a very restricted field of view when I keep my glasses on, but the restriction of these is minimal. I've seldom seen this from any binocular and I'm delighted.
Outdoors in bright daylight I did not see the slightest evidence of chromatic aberration anywhere in my field of view, with plenty of sharpness all around.
Inside the concert hall, I can view performers without trouble and I'm not having to inspect their dental work at this magnification.
These are so light that I can forget I am carrying them. Not mentioned in the blurb is the cleaning cloth, the pouch with belt loop, and the perfectly-sized neck strap. No need to buy accessories!

[4x] Image quality is very good, true to color, despite the small 18mm lenses they are very good in low light. I used them as opera glasses and they are perfect due to their clarity and the wide field of view. Outdoors they are also nice to use due to the wide field of view. I didn't think the close focussing distance of about 20 inch is very useful but it turns out it's nice to look at flowers, butterflies, frogs and other shy wildlife. They are also super lightweight. That helps a lot for their use as Opera glasses. They seem to be sturdy though. The right diopter once adjusted seems to stay the same throughout the entire focussing distance. The lenses are recessed and well protected from accidental touching and scratches. The eye relief is good. The only drawbacks I can think of is that they might not be the most robust Bino's due to their lightweight construction and the overall look of the white plastic housing looks a bit cheap. A grey-ish finish like expensive DSLR lenses would have been better. The ocular rubber can be folded over to use them with glasses on. This is a bit cumbersome when you hand the binoculars back and forth to your partner who doesn't have glasses. A system like on my 8x20 Zeiss binoculars would have been better.

[Roof (BK7)] I have a pair of 10x56 Vortex binoculars that I use for hunting.  Because of the 56x objective lens they are very heavy and as a result I set out to find some binoculars that were lighter to carry around.  I also found that the 10x opcital zoom was hard for me to keep steady.  I have started doing more birding than hunting and thought the 8x optical might be a better all around choice.  Found these by reading a Birds & Blooms magazine where they were talking about different binoculars and had recommended them.  These are very light weight and compact, lots of eye relief, feel solid and good in your hands.  The lens are bright and clear all the way to the edges (where as my Vortex were a little hazy on the edges).  I am loving the 8x vs. 10x as well.  Case and neck strap are also very nice.  I would definitely buy again.

[18 mm] Great little binoculars for the car or bush walking. Extremely light, good clear image and eye relief. A little stiff in the focus knob initially, but soon smooths out. A solid yet lighter replacement for my 25 year old Nikon Porro type 8 x 23 (now a 'monocular' with only one tube working and sadly a repair too expensive). The build quality suggests I should get many years out of these as well. Good solid belt case comes with it so no need to upgrade it.

[0.645 lb] This is a really well designed pair of binoculars. Small enough to fit in a fairly large pocket, light enough that you don't really feel them if you hang them around your neck. At 4x it's easy for even old hands to hold them steady enough for casual viewing. All of the mechanics of focus adjustment (except for the right eyey diopter adjustment) is internal to the case so they don't change length when one changes the focal distance. Add to that they focus closeup at about 20 inches and you have something handy enough to use for every day carry.

[18 mm] I have been a long time customer of Vortex optics. I was looking for a good pair of low light binoculars so I started looking for 56mm objective lens pairs. Vortex used to make the Vulture's in 8x56 but since discontinued them. I started shopping for other brands and came across this pair. The price was in my budget, and the fact that it was a German based company I thought would be a positive to so I took a chance on them. Let me tell you, these binoculars are nothing short of awesome. Everything is top notch, from the packaging they come in to the carrying case, neck strap and optics themselves. I can be very picky when it comes to purchases (especially at this price point) and I can't find one thing to complain about. I get on the deer stand with these 2 hours before day break with just moon light and I can see my feeder and movement in fields clearly. They are 56mm objective lens so naturally they are a little bulkier and heavier than say a 42mm binocular but well worth the extra size and weight for me. I love them, I gave my old Vortex to my kids because after using these I don't want to use anything else. I highly recommend them. I attached an un-boxing video in case it might help.

[4x] I wanted another pair of small binoculars to carry around. I have the Steiner Wildlife 8x24 and I bought these Eschenbach 8x25 after reading a review of another Eschenbach product. These were 20% less expensive than the Steiner and maybe slightly better glass. Very small and portable. I'm quite happy with my purchase.
