Use the lightweight SmallHD 7" Cine 7 Monitor with Sony VENICE Control Kitfrom SmallHD 7" Cine 7 Monitor with Sony VENICE Control Kitto provide professional monitoring for your Sony VENICE camera with a sharp 7" display suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The kit includes the Cine 7 monitor, an L-series battery mount, a sun hood, a screen protector, an 8GB SD card, and the Sony VENICE camera control kit that includes software and an Ethernet control cable.

The Cine 7 monitor supports up to UHD 4K HDMI output as well as various HD and SD formats via one full-size HDMI input, one HDMI output, one 3G-SDI input, and one 3G-SDI selectable input/output. The monitor also supports cross conversion from HDMI to SDI and from SDI to HDMI.

The VENICE control software loads onto the monitor and allows you to control Sony camera functions protocol such as run/stop, ND filters, fps, status, color temperature, LUT configuration, playback, shutter, timecode, media status, battery status, and menu control, all via the Cine 7 touchscreen. The control cable, SDI cable, and USB-to-LEMO adapter allow the monitor to connect to the camera.

The Cine 7 features a bright 1800 cd/m², 322 ppi, 1920 x 1200 IPS LCD touchscreen with 3D LUT compatibility. Using the intuitive Swipe OS3, you can turn on and save pages of various monitoring tools and focusing aids with a finger tap. At the rear of the monitor, an L-series battery mount enables you to power the unit.

[Yes] SmallHD charges what they charge because no one else makes what they make. The display brightness, quality is great, but can be replicated by other cheaper options, what you are paying for however, is usability. This is the most useable and well thought out monitor I have ever used. It genuinely speeds up my production workflow, and that to me is worth the cost. 5

[16:10] This Cine 5 checked almost all the boxes for my requirements for an external monitor - the Ultra 5 has the extra function buttons that I would like, but at a much higher price than the Cine 5. Everything works as expected, the touchscreen has been very responsive, accurate, and definitely viewable in direct sunlight. It can get warm after a while, but that’s to be expected. The design is well thought out, with a quiet internal blower fan that blows air through a heatsink, but also spreads the heat to its aluminum chassis. The Page OS is so intuitive and fast, I am never waiting to scroll through the different pages I set up with focus assist, false color and waveform for example. I am not a pro videographer, but I do appreciate all the features that make this monitor easy not navigate and use. The only minor issue I had was a frequent request to register the monitor or skip. After an email with customer service, and a factory reset, all is well now. I did have all my configurations saved to an SD card, so after the reset I reloaded the config file and was up and running. My previous SmallHD DP4 still works, but it’s nice to see the progress that has come to the company’s product line over the years. This is a very nice monitor, and I highly recommend it. 5

[Yes] I bought this for my RED V-Raptor. Why didn't I just get the RED monitor? They are basically the same price! Let me explain... The RED monitor is fantastic. One cable, attaches directly to the camera, user buttons, well built, and only slightly more expensive. BUT... I can only use the RED monitor version of the Cine 7 on a RED camera. And if you think I am going to spend 3K on a monitor that I can only use on one camera, you have another thing coming. With this monitor, yes, I need two cables instead of one. That is where the shortcomings stop. The Cine 7: 1. Can use on any camera. Any camera! 2. Still have complete camera control. 3. 500 more nits of brightness. Yes, 500! And it does make a difference. 4. A little bit cheaper. 5. Want Arri camera control? Yep, for $500 you have Arri camera control too. 6. With the RED monitor on an Arri camera you would have a paperweight. You get a better monitor that you can use on any camera. I attach the monitor directly to the RED top handle using the SmallRig Swivel and Tilt Monitor Mount with ARRI-Style Accessory Mount. Perfect. 5

[9.5 x 7 x 4.6"] This monitor is awesome. Love the intuitive touchscreen functions, love the camera control add-ons, love how it looks. It does scare me how hot it gets though. Could definitely fry an egg on this thing. I hope the heat doesn't affect longevity. 5

[Yes] I see most of the negative reviews are from the ARRI side. However, with the Komodo this monitor has been great. The Control OS has been great and very easy to use. I think it’s a good investment considering the functionality of the touch screen and the price. I used to always use 5 inch monitors but when it comes down to it the extra size helps out so much for critical focusing. The build quality is top notch, just make sure you get a screen protector. My screen protector cracked but without it who would have known what may have happened. 5

[IPS-Type LCD] I was able to get my hands on the first batch of these monitors and it did not disappoint. It's built like a tank, bright enough for broad daylight work and makes modifications on the fly smooth sailing. High price tag but you get what you pay for. 5

[3.305 lb] Great monitor out of the box. the right-angle camera control cable for the ARRI Alexa Mini LF is kinda impossible to fit with the RAB. I wish it was angled the other way. 5

[Yes] I almost didn't buy this monitor because of the negative comments I read here on B&H about the fan noise this monitor has. But I finally decided to trust SmallHD and their reputation, and invest into this monitor... I'm so glad I did. Fan noise IS NOT a problem at all. And I am primarily an ENG style shooter with a shotgun mic mounted to my camera. You can hardly hear it at all. And you definitely DO NOT hear it in a recording. Also the colors are excellent. The images on screen look beautiful. It's super nice having a button on the side, so I don't have to use the touch screen all the time. And there are awesome tools that help me with focusing, luts, framing, and all sorts of things. The build quality feels great. It get's hot when you use it, and it's performed flawlessly for me since I bought it. I am so so so happy with this purchase and highly recommend this monitor. I think the reason there are so many negative reviews on this monitor, is because a few people got a dud, or didn't like something about it... but most people know how good SmallHD is, and most people have heard stories about SmallHD monitors like the 502 bright lasting people 7+ years, so they don't really feel like they need to leave a review. But I feel like I was mislead by the reviews here, this was my first SmallHD monitor, and I thought I'd share my experience. This monitor ROCKS!!!!! 5
