Built for strength and portability, the orange Pelican 1525AirWF Hard Case with Foam Insert (Orange)is designed to be dustproof, fully watertight, and crushproof to protect your valuable gear against the harshest handling, shipping, and environmental conditions on the planet. This edition of the 1525Air comes lined, but without foam or other inserts, allowing you the freedom to completely customize the 20.5 x 11.3 x 6.75" interior to your specific needs and to your specific gear.

Your case is made of a super-light proprietary HPX2 polymer, with honeycomb structural elements, which is up to 40% lighter than most other Pelican polymers and has newly designed dual push-button latches that provide ease-of-use versus previous iterations. Case design features include an O-ring that seals it to an IP67-rating to be dust and waterproof, dual 5/16" (8mm) diameter stainless steel reinforced padlock holes, and a pressure relief valve. This valve regulates the internal pressure, keeping your gear and the case from getting crushed and allowing you to open the case without having to break a tough pressurized seal that may develop. A polycarbonate card holder may be placed on the front or side of the case.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a Blackmagic pocket cinema 4K. I have a rig case and a side handle. According to inside dimensions it looks as though it will fit. Any comments or feedback?

A: This case has internal dimensions of 16.8 x 11.2 x 6.1 inches. That is more than enough space for the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K alone. If the cage is tight to the body it should fit as well. You would just need to measure out the exact specs of your rig to make sure it would fit.

Q: 2. I’d like to use this for a pair of Lite Panel Astra 6X’s. Can anyone clarify the interior dimensions of the padded insert trays without the small dividers in place?

A: While Pelican does not publish the dimensions of the insert trays on their own, theLitepanels Traveler Case Duo with Custom Foam for 1 Astra Soft and 1 Astra (Black), BH # LICF2A is modeled off of the Pelican Storm Case IM2750 and contains pre-cut inserts specifically for the Astra series panels. http://bhpho.to/2XUHNbE

Q: 3. What does "with liner" mean?

A: The liner is the rubber gasket on the inside of the lid.

Q: 4. Will the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens fit in the bottom padded layer? How deep is the bottom layer of padded dividers?

A: Each layer is a little under 5 inches. This will not fit when using the top insert. The Pick-N-Pluck Foam Insert option would be better for that lens.

Q: 5. Is this the model with the pick n pluck foam?

A: Yes it is the pick & pluck foam. This case works great for me.

Q: 6. Will this fit a Leica M typ 240?

A: I would think so. I use it to store my M2 body, a Voightlander 50mm f/1.5, a Voightlander 35mm 1.4 and a Minolta 40mm f/2 for a CLE.M2 size: 138mm x 77mm x 38.5 vs M240 size: 139mm x 80mm x 42mm.

Q: 7. It would be nice if you could have the option to fit a larger camera inside but the double tray system pretty much makes that impossible?

A: Yes, that is true. There may, however, be additional options available that better suit your needs and equipment than this one. Feel free to contact us for additional recommendations via chat, email or phone.

Q: 8. Why is the beige/desert/tan color $30 more than the other colors for this model?

A: Some colors are in higher demand and therefore are priced higher. Also they may not be produced in the same quantity is some of the more basic colors.

Q: 9. A Korg Monologue (electric keyboard) is approx. 13.5 inches (L) X 11 inches (W) X 3.5 inches (H) -- would this item fit in the Pelican 1500 case with the foam?

A: I don't know.

Q: 10. Can you get replacement foam pieces for this case in case needs change?

A: Yes you can! https://bhpho.to/3Asgkz4

[Latch] This is our second large Pelican case. The other was a 1626. When our expensive equipment needs to be protected while on the move, we rely on our Pelicans. Great transport cases.

[Handle] I was in need of a new suitcase sized case and after much review I settled on the Pelican 1615. I have been using pelican boxes for 25 years at least so I was very optimistic. Yes the air model was lighter than the regular models so this was great however……..THE SERVICE I RECEIVED WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST I CAN REMEMBER FOR AN ONLINE ORDER. I needed this quickly for a trip and I received it in THREE days after I ordered. The sales person was extremely polite, understanding, and helpful. I will definitely do business with them again.

[Orange] I exclusively fly with this. While I dont put my camera gear in here (no trust in the airlines), anything else is a safe bet. You could probably nuke this thing and it would still be intact.

Ive stood on this to get higher angles, ive used it as a bench, its been thrown, dragged, etc. No problems whatsoever.

[7 lb] I bought this to replace a Pelican 1560, as I had outgrown it. I have always been impressed with Pelican cases, and this 1615 is no different. It feels just as sturdy as the 1560, yet it weighs less while holding more gear. I also like the press and pull locks on the 1615 better than the old-style flip locks.

Pelican cases are certainly not the cheapest cases out there, but they provide tremendous value for the money. There's a reason they're the standard by which everyone else is judged. It's also far easier to find third-party accessories for a Pelican case vs. other brands.

[22 x 14.5 x 8"] This is my second 1615Air that I own. I fly a lot with video production gear, and the lighter weight of these cases gives me much more weight to fly in gear, which is always the struggle with a large case, and why I typically fly with smaller cases.

Add on the TrekPack, it allows me to pack and unpack gear faster on site for jobs, and also do a better visual check as I pack to make sure nothing is forgotten or left behind.

I'm typically a Nanuk supporter, but this case has made me think twice. I thought these cases with their lighter weight would crush easier, but I have been flying with my first one for over a year now, with zero issues.

[22 x 14.5 x 8"] I ordered this case with the pluck foam for my telescope eyepieces for transport. I am very impress with this case, seems to be very tuff and working with the pluck foam was a snap. I know of others who have Pelican cases however they are much heavier than this one which makes it idea for my use. I would recommend it highly for anyone looking for a light weight but strong water tight case.

[Empty] Great case, as always. The ability to modify the configuration with TrekPak dividers is extremely helpful.

[22 x 14.5 x 8"] I love this Pelican case! It is the exact dimensions I was needing. The latches have a button to press before unsnapping, making them the most effortless latches on a case I have ever used! Such a nice detail! The depth of the case is perfect for my 600mm lens, a 400mm, a 70-200mm, a 24-105mm, a 50mm, a teleconverter, and two DSLR bodies inside. I also added an array of accessories such as spare batteries, remote shutters, a spare tripod head and a couple other things. This case is a monster for space! I truly can’t speak highly enough of it!
