The SSD7540 takes advantage of the high-speed PCIe 4.0 bandwidth to deliver up to 16 Gb/s per lane with compatible devices, with a total data throughput of up to 40 GB/s. It is also backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 devices.

HighPoint's Hyper-Cooling solution includes a full-length anodized aluminum heatsink with dual integrated low-noise fans, and a highly conductive thermal pad to help maintaining optimal temperatures and prevent speed throttling.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] Added 4 Samsung m.2 ssd cards to this and blazing fast under raid 0 even via the old PCIe 3 connection. The card will slightly bend when you put on all the thermo pads and tighten the heat sink but otherwise perfect. No sound and heat managed very well. 5

[Full Height] This is the best PCIe 16x housing you can find. I use it for Highpoint's SSD71xx RAID cards and am getting very fast read/write speeds. As I can control the fans with their software, the unit is extremely quiet. 5

[Full Height] Moving from my on board RAID controller to a dedicated card was a game changer. Using my motherboard in RAID 0 had no problem with Sequential reads/writes, but the random reads were painfully slow. I moved to a PCI riser card (Gigabytes Aorus) so I could have more drives and a possible bonus of the bifurcated PCI lanes would be a bit quicker. Same performance. I finally bit the bullet and picked up this card. It has been FLAWLESS. The random read performance is within spitting distance of a single drive. Absolutely thrilled with this setup. fwiw: Asus x399-e Gaming Threadripper 1950x 970 Evo Plus 1TB drives Now I just need to get PCI4 capable stuff together so I can really put it through its paces 5

[Yes, RAID 0/1] I replaced a Ableconn card that had two NVME installed but did not have a provision for a heat sink and so the cards failed after a little more than one year. The Sonnet provides for each NVME to be independently accesses and in parallel with multiple ones installed on the card and the data throughput was dramatically higher than with the Ableconn card. The Sonnet has a very large heat sink and uses a special pad that is adhesive and also helps with heat transfer from the M.2 module to the aluminum heat sink. This should greatly extend the life of the modules. 5

[1.71 lb] I have installed this with four PNY Technologies CS2130 2TB M.2 NVMe SSDs. I think the speed is limited by the bus since the speed of the stripe is over 6GB/s and the individual speed was nearly 3GB/s. This configuration gives me a very fast 8TB drive to use as a scratch disk, speeding up the loading and saving of video and other large projects. 5

[Yes, RAID 0/1] The board is very well designed to support maximum read and write rates for the M.2 memory modules. It took a little bit of time to install as the M.2 modules are sandwiched between two layers of heat sink material to keep the modules from overheating and throttling back. Once installed the OS detected the new modules and then I used Widows Disk Management to format the modules and then create a RAID1 partition with the two modules mirrored. Lots of online support options for the computer novice to integrate the new memory modules or to set up the RAID level desired. 5

I did have some difficulty putting in a Blackmagic Mini Monitor 4k card though, as the card is designed to sit in a tower so I needed to modify the card slightly to fit. Now that it's in I'm getting amazing HDR 4K playback and couldn't be happier. 5
