Q: 1. Can you not charge the batteries while they're in the grip and connected to an outlet/battery pack?

A: The batteries do not seem to charge while the grip is installed and the camera is connected to the USB charger.

A: I have the two Sony batteries that come with the A7R II and 6 third party batteries. Haven't noticed any difference using Sony or third party batteries with or without the battery grip! One of the features I like with the battery grip is it tells you which battery is being used and remaining power left on each battery.

Q: 4. Does it work with the alpha a7?

A: i use it with the A7ii

Q: 5. does it have a second mount point for vertical mounting? that would be very useful

A: Unfortunately it does not. However you can always use or get a Ball Head for a Tripod, and that would do the trick.

Q: 6. Do we have a final answer if this is compatible with A7 R II?

A: The short answer to that question is yes. I bought this and installed it in my Sony A7R II and it worked as advertised. Until my camera went haywire one day. I wrote extensively about what happened on my website but I'm not allowed to post a link to it in this response. At this point I can only conclude that the battery grip was responsible for a sudden drainage of all battery power. My camera did not work until I performed a certain sequence of card and battery removal etc. My camera is now working fine, and I have yet to test it once again with the grip installed, although I do plan to.Perhaps someone from B&H Could contact me directly on this. Sony is aware of what happened, as is the local store in which I purchased the camera body itself. If you go to kyleandrew dot com and scroll down, I posted the article on my site this week. I'm not in any way suggesting that the grip was certainly the cause of this issue, but based on correspondence with others online and my own testing, I can't help but highly suspect it.

Q: 7. What's the best vertical grip for the a6500?

A: The gryp is great on my a7sii. I dont know if it fits the 6500.

Q: 8. will this work on a9 and 7III?

A: I think the A9 uses a bigger battery.

Q: 9. Is the remote both wireless and wired? One review says it is not.

A: The receiver attaches to the flash shoe mount and the remote is wireless. It works very well eliminating camera shake.

Q: 10. Recommendation for something similar compatible with the Sony A6500?

[Zipper] These dividers fit the bill exactly by being of the Porta Brace quality I've been relying on for over 8 years now. The Velcro tabs can also be moved to the bottom of the pad if you need to attach at those points. 5

[Handheld Only] I used this kit to customize my PB 2700 case for use as a light kit. Im moving more towards LEDs, so my tungsten kit is getting smaller. But I still use them for specials and general uses. This kit came with hard cards with padded fabric and plenty of soft velcro ended slats to make this case however you want it. I used the cards and made areas perfect for my Lowel Pro lights and Omni lights, barn doors, as well as cords, dimmers and gels in the zippered lid pouch. Plus it came with 2 zipper pouches, a padded bag you can wrap around a lens and a TSA padlock. It may seem a little expensive, but it saved me a ton of time making something myself. Now I have a very rugged light case I can use for local shoots or I could fly with it and not worry about stuff getting broken or smashed. I would buy this again 5

[Black] You can cut these into the lengths you want and then wrap the velcro around the edges and put in your portabrace bag. The dividers are very sturdy. 5

[Black] I bought this to divide the 2750 case instead of using the foam. I can put 2 Canon xf300s in the case with plenty of room for batteries, cards microphones, etc. Using the foam is very limiting. The cameras and accessories stay in place and if configured properly the equipment doesn't shift. The only negative is the dividers only have velcro on 3 sides which limits how you can use them. 5

[Empty] Using these dividers in a cargo 2 case. Easy to cut, and there are enough pieces to do several different designs. the dividers cut easily and stick to the case walls as advertised. They offer good protection and helpful organization to my NX30 camera and associated gear 5
