This mic is perfect for recording directly to computers, be they mac or windows systems. With the right, separately available adapters, you can also record with Android and iOS devices.

Don't want to use a computer or a mobile device? Not a problem: the built-in recorder can hold up to 12 hours of wav files. This feature, combined with the rechargeable battery, allows for versatile and mobile operation.

The Tula features controls for headphone volume, pattern selection, instant mute, and microphone gain—putting you in charge of every level of the recording process. Also on hand are controls for the built-in recorder as well as a button for the built-in noise-reduction. Literally everything you need to control is intuitively built into the microphone itself, so you don't have to fiddle with any software operations.

Choose Cardioid if it's just you speaking in an untreated room: cardioid polar patterns are a great natural defense against picking up unwanted room tone. If you're recording more people, or want a more honest, true-to-life sound, choose the omnidirectional polar pattern, which picks up audio equally all around the capsule.

The mic has an integrated headphone jack with an independent gain control for latency-free monitoring. Simply plug your headphones into the mic's 3.5mm input, and you'll hear your broadcast-quality audio in all its glory.

The mic records audio at 16-bit / 48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for media playback. On the audio side, the two-capsule design ensures that whatever mode you choose, the mic will pick up a clear and present sound.

The Tula Mic can also be switched to 44.1 kHz for use with Akai MPC Series devices.

The Tula Mic is brought to you by the team behind the world-renowned Soyuz Microphones. Like Soyuz mics, the Tula features an open top end that's never harsh, a pleasant midrange, and a low end that's full without being boomy. Featuring Burr Brown op amps and dedicated cardioid and omni capsules, the Tula provides professional-quality audio in a wide variety of situations.

Just plug the Tula into your computer's USB port with the included USB cable, select it as a device in your recording software, and you're ready to get to work. Or, hit the Record button on the side of the mic, and start recording without an external device. The mic runs either off buss power or built-in battery power: the choice is yours.

The Tula ships with an integrated stand for easy placement, but you can remove it if need be and attach the mic to any threaded stand with the commensurate connections.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In the video describes the product including the tripod stand, but not in the box description. Is the tripod stand included? Thanks.

A: The Samson Q2U bundle will include the HP20 studio headphones, desktop tripod stand, mic clip, USB cable and XLR cable.

Q: 2. is this good for making music?

A: If you want to record an instrument, you would choose another device. This mic is very good to record voices for storytelling or a podcast but for music I would choose another one.

Q: 3. does it requires software drivers or will it work with windows out of the box?

A: The PreSonus Revelator USB microphone does require installing software drivers which can be downloaded after you have registered the Revelator online at presonus.com. PreSonus Studio One Artist software is also included which can be used as your DAW (digital audio workstation) if desired, and additional software plug-ins are provided as well.

Q: 4. Can you recommend a pop filter for this?

A: Sure! Depending on how where you're positioning this, pop filters like these would work: Auray pop filter with gooseneck and spring clamp: https://bhpho.to/3rdPp5m Shure pop filter with clamp: https://bhpho.to/3cTXerx

Q: 5. Can you use this product to record audio for YouTube videos?

A: Yes you can. I use it in my talking head videos. Keep in mind this mic to sound good needs to me near you mouth

Q: 6. Does this have the right cables to connect to an iPad?

Q: 7. In the box description it says Cakewalk Music Creator . What does this mean? Does it come with this program?

A: Cakewalk Music Creator software is included with the Q2U bundle.

Q: 8. Is there an isolation mount available for use with the PreSonus Revelator?

A: The Auray TT-ISO Isolating Desktop Microphone Stand, BH #AUTTISO would be a good table top isolating stand. There is no shockmount currently for this mic.

Q: 9. Are the Polsen headphones included in the complete pack any good?

A: They will sound clean and are a very good option for that price point with the kit

Q: 10. I've read that 'dynamic' mics work best when the sound source (voice or instrument) is close to the mic -- say six-eigth inches for example; but their sound pickup range falls off quickly as you move much further away from the mic (which has the advantage of reducing background noise). Is this true for this mic?

A: That is true for dynamic mics in general. Some dynamic mics are more sensitive than others. This one in particular requires the source of sound to be just a few inches away. Probably closer to around 3-4 inches or so. The polar pattern also will determine how far off axis the source of the sound can be until the sound drops out. This Samson Q2U is a cardioid pickup pattern which is about 120 degrees around.

[48 / 44.1 kHz] Very nice mic for the price. Looks great and has some weight (not cheap plastic) for a small mic. Was plug in play on my Linux machine running Ubuntu.

[48 / 44.1 kHz] My son asked for a microphone so he can talk to his friends on Discord and for his classes on zoom. People had been complaining the mic on his new gaming headset didn't sound good and cut out quite often.
His friends/classmates all say the sound is significantly better than before.
Have not used it for voice over or singing applications but for these two purposes it works fine.

[48 / 44.1 kHz] We record books for the blind using volunteer readers across the country. Our previous solution was a mix of multiple pieces of equipment that required extensive training and support. The Tula is intuitive for our readers to use, has excellent sound quality, and good noise rejection.

[48 / 44.1 kHz] I already own a number of podcasting mics but saw a video on these Tula mics that really intrigued me. I mostly wanted to have the option for internal recording without the mic even needing plugged in to a power source.

I have NOT been disappointed. The quality of the mics has been superb. A perfect blend of highs/mids/lows. It makes my voice sound good (adult male), my wife's (adult female) and even my three year old boy's! Very crisp sound - not needing much post production correction at all, if any!

They're made of high quality metal materials. Parts are replaceable (don't see that needing to be done, but still nice). The retro, yet somehow modern, look to them is so so good. You just WANT to use them.

Internal recording and battery life are game changers. Wow! You can even record a single track that uses the noise cancellation feature, but simultaneously record a safety track without it.

Plenty of buttons on both sides is nice too, so you don't have a lot of tricky taps to get where you want with the settings.

The only things I can warn you about are these:
- There is no screen or gain knob with numbers to see settings or playback features. You kind of have to get your muscle memory down a bit to navigate the features (not bad though with all the available buttons).
- These mics are sensitive! Definitely buy the Tula pop filters or you'll get too many plosives.

One last good thing - although all these mics sound better when your mouth is closest to the mic, these Tula mics sound great even when you're a few feet away. Awesome!
