Keep your hands and fingers warm and dry even in the harshest conditions with these Heat 3 Smart Mittens/Gloves, in brown, from The Heat Company. When you're out in the cold, conserve heat by using the outer mitten, and then when you need to do some work, get a drink, snap a selfie, or perform any task that requires dexterity, just fold the mitten and thumb back to expose your liner-gloved fingers. The integrated inner lining allows full use of your hands, yet still helps keep your fingers warm.

Your first layer of protection from the elements is a wind- and water-resistant mitten shell with Primaloft Gold synthetic down insulation. The back of the mitten has a zippered pocket that can hold a disposable hand warmer, your car keys, a credit card, or cash. The palm is reinforced with soft and durable goatskin which is naturally water and wear resistant. Extra-long cuffs with drawstrings keep heat in and snow or wind out. When it's time to get to work, flaps on the fingers and thumb fold back and are held out of the way with simple magnets. Heat 3 Smart built-in glove liners are located beneath the flaps, featuring synthetic fabric that is breathable and wicks moisture away from your skin. Even when wet, the liner's insulation properties protect your fingertips from cold. For added usability the thumb, fore, and middle fingers have special material on the tips that allow you to use the touchscreen on your phone, camera, or sports watch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this fit a cannon ESO T2I?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 2. If I have 12G SDI cables connected to this, but send a 6G signal (4K 30p), would there be any problems? I assume everything would work just fine, no?

A: 100%. A end-user would just be future proofing their feed. Great workflow practice.

Q: 3. Will this switch act as a signal booster? I have very long cable runs planned to connect to this cleanswitch, and then another fairly long cable run from the cleanswitch to an ATEM switcher. I need it for its routing abilities too, but my biggest concern is signal loss.

A: All SDI signals will be reclocked in the Videohub. If the signal properly makes it to the Videohub you will be able to transmit a clean output signal.

Q: 4. what's the materials of the glove?what's rated for outside temperatures?

A: It is made of polyester. They do not offer an official temperature rating but they do estimate it should be good down to about 10F.

Q: 5. Can you create Macros with the CleanSwitch 12X12 ?

A: Not on the CleanSwitch itself but macros may be created using the VideoHub Smart Control panel.

Q: 6. HelloI want to replace a Kramer 4X4 matrix with this one.If i use this on am i going to have any delay when switching between inputs or is it better to use the non CleanSwitch version?I ask this because i suppose (i hope i am wrong) that if this one tries to keep all devices in synced in frame it may cause a bit of delay. Is it the proper device to use as a matrix/switcher on live events?thanks

A: We use this unit and also the older version that does not clean switch. Biggest difference between the two for us is the newer one does not lose signal while switching, which is nice, but it does add about 1 frame delay to the signal. We run our camera line through this and then to the ATEM switcher out to a projector, and there is a slight delay between what happens live on stage and what is seen on screen.

Q: 7. I'm working a new setup utilizing a Newtek Tricaster and 3play. 2 of our camera runs to control room are 2-300ft and look great when going direct to either the Tricaster of 3play but when I split them using a passive SDI T splitter I get nothing. Will I be able to input those cameras into the Videohub and split them to the Tricaster and 3play without signal degradation?

A: TheVideohub will be an overkill for you. First, there is no degradation when working in the digital domain. You either have a perfect signal or nothing. Second, you can't use a passive switcher. A SDI cable needs to be terminated. By splitting your signal, you endup with a double termination and this is the reason why it is not working. The solution would be to loop your signal from 3Play to Tricaster or vice versa, but unfortunately neither the 3play nor the Tricaster have a loop input. Your unly way out is to purshase a SDI distribution amplifier to distribute your signal to both devices

Q: 8. Will this fit the fujifilm x100v?

A: It does fit the X100V but first you would have to cut the screen protector according to the size of the LCD. There are guidelines with the LCD protector to help you cut it.

Q: 9. Is this good for video live streaming switching?

A: Yes if the switches inputs have the same resolution and frame rate the switch will be clean.

Q: 10. Does this come with a pair for left and right?

A: Yes. This is a pair of gloves with gloves for the right and left hand.

[Unisex 12] I really like these gloves / mittens. I will say to expect your fingers to get cold when using these in glove mode to operate the camera. When you put your fingers back in the mitten they warm up pretty quickly. I like the way the magnet holds back the mitten to use the gloves. The magnet will stick to anything metal however, car doors, etc. I like the ringlets so that you can take them off and you won't lose them. I like the ability to put a hand warmer heat pack in the mitten as well, haven't used it yet. For Wildlife Photographers this brand is the best IMO, very well thought out.

[Unisex 12] These gloves keep my hands warm and are very functional for photography. Unlike other gloves I have seen, the thumb covers on these are easily held back by velcro and do not come loose. The sizing is very accurate and leaves a little room for liners. I have the chemical warmers to insert in the glove pockets but haven't had to use them yet. Would definitely buy again!

[Unisex 12] I have now had these gloves for a full Canadian winter. They are fantastically warm. I'm a landscape photographer so I sometimes need to be barehanded. No problem. My hands warm quickly once back inside! The mitts have little magnets built in so you can peel the mitt off when you only want/need the gloves. The magnet keeps the bulky mitt away from what you doing. The cuffs work great to keep the mitts out of the snow. There's little pockets so you can place hand warmers in them if you need to. These have been toasty for me without the aid of warmers. Incredibly well thought out! Who knew you could get excited over mitts??!! I will always have a pair in my closet.

[Unisex 12] An incredible amount of thought went into creating these gloves. Expensive, yes. But how much is it worth having hands that work. Hands with the fine touch required to adjust your photo and video equipment. Now you can think about the project at hand (no pun intended) and not how cold your digits are. They come from Germany, so expect a bit of time for delivery.

[Unisex 12] So many of these finger-less gloves advertise how warm they are - they are not. I've tried a few different ones and hands / fingers are numb and painful after a short time at even 30 degrees. Plus, they are inconvenient to use

These Heat Company Mittens are great, easy to expose and cover fingers and the fleece-like material inside warms very quickly. Have not had to use the included heat packs - but they will certainly take these to another level.

[Unisex 12] I used these gloves while photographing animals in Yellowstone. -8 degrees Fahrenheit. Only problem I had was the pockets for the handwarmers was useless. Instead I put the handwarmers inside the mittens directly next to the inner gloves.

[Unisex 12] I received a pair of these mittens over the holidays and had the opportunity to test them in Alberta, Canada where the temperatures at night ranged from -30 to -37 degrees Celsius with wind chill. These mittens kept my hands toasty warm, and the glove liners allowed me the dexterity needed to readily adjust my camera's dials. I was able to use my phone without taking the gloves off due to the special pads on the thumb, index and middle fingers too. When I needed to take the gloves off, the cuff straps (aka idiot strings -- I have a tendency to loose my gloves when not on my hands) kept the gloves safe and close for quick replacement. Without the gloves, my fingers numbed very quickly, but warmed equally as fast when I put the gloves back on. All in all a fanstastic mitten!
