The 6-channel PF-06 Print Head is engineered to work with the printer's high-speed carriage and high-frequency ink ejection to help facilitate fast printing. This printer boasts Canon's print-head technology that lays down ink with outstanding speed and accuracy. The PF-06 print head incorporates a nozzle orifice shape to help minimize mist spray, producing clean lines and text. The high-precision, high-density print head, with a total of 15,360 nozzles, lays down 5 picoliter-size ink droplets that help produce sharp detail and excellent image quality. The result is consistently accurate 2400 x 1200 dpi output with fine lines that are accurate to ±0.10% and as thin as 0.02mm.

Featuring a 5-color LUCIA TD Pigment ink system, this ink produces fine lines and sharp text, even on non-inkjet coated paper. This ink helps provide a balance between bleed resistance, black density, and water resistance not found in dye ink. Combine this pigment ink with water resistant media and you have a printed drawing that can withstand many outdoor conditions, especially outdoor job sites such as construction sites.

The TX-3100 supports borderless printing on all roll widths and custom widths as well as three sized borderless printing for a reduction in paper trimming.

Intelligent Media Roll technology with an advanced sensor system allows the printer to detect roll width, length, and media type, reducing the amount of time it takes to load media into the printer.

Advanced print head technology achieves speeds up to 190 D-sized prints per hour on uncoated media. Powering these incredible print speeds is Canon's L-COA processor, which controls the optimal ink layout helping to ensure high resolution output.

This feature allows for virtually all the available ink in a tank to be used before having to replace it, helping to eliminate any wasted ink. The empty tanks can also be replaced on-the-fly without stopping the printer. This is extremely useful during your long print jobs.

SmartWorks MFP scanning software simplifies large-format scanning with intuitive operations on the touchscreen display. Even novice users can easily scan, copy, or edit large-format images. Incorporates a SingleSensor Technology Assembly, which helps provide consistent and better color accuracy with more detail in the shadows and highlights than a staggered CIS array scanner.

Featuring a 15.6" color touchscreen, the TX-3100 makes it easy to view printer information as well as perform operations. Additional programs can be added to the computer and files can be moved via a USB storage device and shared over a network via the Ethernet card.

A large size 4.3" LCD touch screen has been integrated into the TX-3100. The large and more vibrant screen displays information such as remaining ink levels. The operation guide can easily be displayed from this screen and be scanned with a smartphone to access a library of information on how to replace consumables.

Direct USB thumb drive printing supports JPEG and PDF file formats. Simply load your files onto your USB drive, step right up to the printer and plug your USB drive into the port. The TX-3100 supports selected page preview. When printing a multi-page PDF file from a USB, the user can select a certain page on the operation panel and display it in a preview window.

Printing jobs quickly is critical on the work site and in the office. The Wi-Fi connectivity can transfer technical drawing files and help speed up your workflow, perfect for high-volume printing. No Wi-Fi router is needed, which can provide greater freedom during installation.

The TX-3100 supports the security features often required for large-scale business segments, such as finance institutions or government and military. Print with ease knowing your files are more protected with Canon's advanced security technology.

A built-in 500GB hard drive within the printer can increase productivity by relieving workload from the host computer, while providing a large capacity for print job data storage and retrieval.

The TX Stacker can stack up to 100 sheets of ARCH C, ARCH D, or ARCH E page sizes for increased productivity.

The optional Multifunction Roll System is a versatile media handling solution system that enables either a second roll of media to be loaded on the printer or can be configured as a bi-directional media take-up unit. The optional second roll unit allows for the instant switching between different media types or the use of two rolls of the same paper for up to 190 D-sized prints per hour. As a take-up unit the operator can choose to use this option to rewind longer printouts, with the print surface on the outside or on the inside of the roll.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it measure light color in K unit ?

A: Yes this can measure the color temperature of light using the Kelvin unit.

Q: 2. I know the 2600 works well with roll media ... but is there also a tray feed, to insert single pages (11x14",16x20", etc)?

A: Yes. The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-2600 can print on single sheets as well.

Q: 3. Can I use Vellum paper on this printer?

A: Technically, yes, you can use vellum paper with the Canon imagePROGRAF TC-20M MFP 24" Large Format Wireless Color Printer. However, it would depend on how thick/thin the paper you want to use is in relation to what the printer can accommodate. Please make sure you handle the paper carefully and use the appropriate printer settings for this type of paper.

Q: 4. does it work with led lights?

A: Yes the Kenko KCM-3100 Professional Color Meter can measure the color temperature in any type of light such as LED's.

Q: 5. Can this also give a light intensity reading (such as footcandles or lux)?

[Print] I use my Kenko meter for sports photography in arenas. Tired of the color temp of your backgrounds not matching the color temp of the close-up subject? The light fixtures in most arenas have two colors of non-daylight-colored light. Like most non-incandescent lights, they pulse many times per second -- one dominant color and a second that emits as the power falls off before the next pulse. Although easy enough to look up the specs on the bulb/fixture manufacturer's web page, it's often impossible to determine the precise type of bulb used in your locations fixtures, and in any event the wall paint schemes affect the hue. This meter helps me measure the two temps of the ambient lighting, and then gel my arena strobes first to absorb the primary hue missing from the ambient fixtures, and then to gel again to absorb the second hue. The meter is then used again to fire the strobes, and then by changing the shutter speed on the meter with that single reading, it reports both the color of the strobes and the ambient light to help ensure you've got them reasonably matched. It's expensive, but if you invest the time to master it, you can build formulas and gel packs for every arena you shoot. I've even used it on occasion to gel my camera-mounted strobe to match the ambient light.

[Yes] I bought this printer 4 months ago for a design job and it did very well. I design films and we had a ton of period graphics that needed scanned and others that we built that needed printed. It did an amazing job and I am thrilled with the output.

[500 GB] Sturdy and high quality. Maybe obvious, but one nice thing is that this stacker will inherit the tilt angle from the 18811 stacker below it. It attaches to the articulated part.

[Color] This accessory allows you to turn the 2nd tier of a K&M Omega stand into a 2 tier desktop stand. I've recently moved a good chunk of my home studio setup onto a bunch of gladiator workbenches and I have a number of keyboards that I want to arrange in a stacked fashion on one of these. workbenches. This device allowed me to re-purpose the 2nd tier of my omega stands to ahcieve this.

[LED] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this printer many of times. Im into crafting. This helps me with my larger prints. I can make posters for occasions. Since I customize chip bags and other snacks I can put multiple on one paper. Even though the accessories to this printer is expensive especially the ink. It’s worth it. My brother also made a poster for his job he works for an after school program. This printer is a great investment.

[Inkjet] For me, the motivation was for a large (36), photographic printer that is cost effective. Doing this rather than using a print service enables quick results, but, it also allows me to easily produce any print aspect ratio for optimal composition.

Started search with epson t5170 but found it lacking 3 core ability. Found my way to canon tm-340 (at practically the same price point) and was impressed with the features, and of course, it was 3 core capable, although I wish they would have included the 3 core adapters with the printer. Had to purchase (what looks like) the same exact spindle that did include the 3 adapters.

Solid build. I like the platten vacuum paper hold for stability. I understand that the t5170 does not have a vacuum paper hold.

Print quality is very good for my requirements for photo enlargements at a reasonable cost. As the more expensive fine art models claim better shadows/black reproduction, you would pay for it with more than double the number of inks and a more than 2x price for the large format printer (44, no 36). Lifting the shadows in curves/levels and histo compression seems to be a good solution to address raw shadow under-performance and gamut reduction.

Software is extensive, although the GUI look and feel are dated. Documentation and support (ie, site resources) is very good. Paper specific printer profiles work fairly well out of the box, however, i started using Spyderprint to attempt better screen to print accuracy. It was partially successful. At the end of the day, making test patches is likely still needed to reduce waste for large prints.

As this printer is not constantly used, print head clogging can be an issue. Their device management console allows scheduling periodic calibration (once per week, per month) to keep the print head healthy.

[Print] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this printer. I was able to print posters for a work event in ten minutes. The ink is vibrant and the machine is very easy to use. Set up took a total of approximately thirty minutes. The printer is very heavy and sturdy for sure. I will purchase a cart for it for my study soon. The scanner on this printer is amazing too. The documents scan in very clearly. I would 100 percent definitely recommend this printer.

[Print] The Canon Pro 6600 replaces a 14 year old Epson 11880. The Canon 60 answers all the deficiencies of the Epson and raises the bar in each case. Looking at the range of choices available in current printer offerings, it becomes clear that Canon has pulled ahead with its wide format printer designs. The most dramatic improvements are as follows: 1. Onboard linearization of the print head for truly consistent color across devices and media. Taking into account wider color gamut and a greater D-max on the matt black ink, the Canon delivered an almost exact match with color from my 11880 following the initial linearization upon setup. With tuning of paper profiles the results only got better. 2. Vastly improved media handling with the ability to load and track length on two rolls of media simultaneously and the ability to switch between rolls and sheets without having back the roll media out of the paper feed. 3. Automatic media detection. After a paper type has been registered with the printer it is able to detect both size and surface. 4. Comprehensive media configuration software. Creating and tracking media profiles with the new Media Configuration Tool and printing with Professional Print and Layout delivers the control and performance associated with RIP software. 5. User replaceable print head (no more $3500 service calls). There are many other details that recommend the printer but those are most dramatic. The only flaw is the fussy fabric paper basket with too many setup options and awkward implementation. The solution on the 11880 was elegant and strait forward. That said, paper basket is literally the only misstep on the Canon Pro 6600.
