[f/1.2] There is no shortage of good choices in the.
35mm range for the Fuji system. Even so I'm surprised this lens has not gotten more attention.

The lens has two personalities, much like the ZM 50 1,5 in the ff world. It is a bit soft wide open, especially on the edges. This is more a design choice than a technical fault on the part of voigtlander. A very classic, soft look. Stopped down 2 stops or so and it becomes a thoroughly modern and sharp lens.

As one would expect all other aspects are well controlled. Build quality is very, very good. Not the tank like build of classic Nikon lenses but not the weight either, better build than zm lenses.

If you have not shot with a manual focus lens I would urge you to do so. It just slows you down a bit and makes you think. With a little practice you will find yourself also paying attention to composition as you focus.

Overall, a very interesting and a bit unique lens. Two personalities - classic/vintage rendering wide open, modern stopped down. a bit. A little pricey but worth it. Hopefully Voigtlander will make many more lenses in the Fuji mount.

Best compared to ZM 50 1.5 as a niche and fun lens.

[APS-C] Loving this lens with my fuji x pro 3, i use it with the optical viewfinder and focus peaking to have that rangefinderish sensation. This lens is not for people that want clinical sharpness. This lens is for people that are shooting jpegs with film recipes or people that want to emulate film.

[12] This lens is perfect for me. I love using manual-focus lenses, but don't love changing the mount adapter settings to record the lens name in EXIF and so on. This lens solves that, but goes further. It corrects distortion, vignetting... but that's not all either. It's fully manual, but the camera knows what you're changing on the lens, and shows you the selected aperture stop, and activates focus aids when you focus. It's just perfect. I haven't mentioned image quality yet, but wow... Voigtlander does not disappoint here; wonderful colors, contrast, so-called 3d pop, just lovely rendering; that classic combination of soft glow at the widest aperture but razor sharp stopped down just slightly, a great fusion of portrait + landscape/architecture/whatever. This is a really premium lens that feels super-premium to operate, making it deeply satisfying, and produces amazingly clear, rich images.

[APS-C] I really enjoy using this lens. I also have the XF35mm F1.4, which I love as well, but the Voigtlander is just more fun to use. This lens has just as much magic as the XF lens, if not more. Especially at 1.2, the flares you can get are beautiful. I like the size. The whole reason I bought into the Fujifilm system was to have a small setup. In order to get a F1.2 autofocus lens, I would think the size would be larger than what I'd want to carry.

I do hope Voigtlander continues to make more X-mount lenses. I'd like to see an 18mm and a 56mm.

The cons:
-Manually focusing can be a challenge sometimes, like when you're shooting low to the ground

-I wish it was weather resistant
-It would nice if it had a focus tab

[APS-C] If you're on the fence, just get it. You won't be disappointed. The vintage character of the lens is only present wide open up to f1.8 and only if your subject has harsh lighting behind or in front then you'll notice the vintage look.

Think of this lens as native glass with no AF, but every other feature is retained. The inclusion of electronic contacts will ruin every other manual glass put on your Fuji body.

Can't wait for more glass from voigtland designed specifically for Fuji X.

[f/1.2] I love
- the pictures coming out of the camera
- and having full control over the creative process!

Camera showing the distance at which the focus is and the aperture makes the price well worth it. I have previously tried cheaper manual lenses, but none of them ver satisfactory to use or had good picture quality. This lens is almost perfect. Like others mentioned, it's soft wide open, but I couldn't care less. It makes me focus on the moment, composition, and content. I have X100F, X-T3 and XPro-3. This lens has just upgraded the level of joy using these cameras.

A focusing tab out of the box would make it perfect. I added one, and now it's event easier to focus by feel and easily fine tune.

[FUJIFILM X] I bought the Voigtlander Nokton 23mm f/1.2 to use on my Fujifilm X-Pro3 and I was sold. I liked it so much that as soon as the 35mm was back in stock, I ordered it, and I love it, too. I am really enjoying using manual focus and the rendering from both lenses is very appealing to my eye. The build quality of these lenses is first rate. I think they're worth every penny. Don't get me wrong, the Fujifilm lenses are wonderful, but the Voigtlanders are fantastic as well. If Voigtlander comes out with more X-mount lenses, I'm buying them.

[f/16] I've always wanted a manual lens for my X-Pro3 but didn't want the added bulk or exclusion of exif data so I passed and kept my Fuji 35mm 1.4 for awhile.

When I got this lens, I was shocked at how much smaller it was compared to the Fuji 35mm 1.4. Funny thing is, its heavier albeit just slightly. It has a dense feel to it so you feel the quality right as soon as you mount it to X-pro3 (or any other compatible x-series camera.) All of the gears move perfectly, and the focus throw is good so its a joy operate. I ended up turning on focus peaking with the blue color on HIGH so I could shoot wide open more and keep more shots since the depth of field is razor thin.

Like others said, it is softer wide open (unlike the Fuji xf 35mm 1.4 which is hella sharp wide open) but its a nice soft. Some of the softness could be due to the fact that you either missed focus slightly, shot in darker lighting, or shot at a lower shutter speed. With that being said, stop down and the image sharpens up considerably. That was the reason I decided to get this lens -- I could be more creative at lower apertures and still have a modern lens at higher ones. I read a comment about how this lens is like you have two lenses in one: a vintage one and a modern one.

After having it for a week (I got mine from Camera Quest because it had faster shipping at the time) I am deciding to sell my Fuji 35mm 1.4. I love the look of it with the pro3 and the images it produces.

If you need to shoot quickly and want the convenience of auto focus, this lens is not for you. Get or keep the Fuji 35mm 1.4 (or the bigger 33mm 1.4).

If you don't mind slowing down a bit, are willing to practice manual focusing and have an x-pro3 and want that vintage vibe, then get this lens. It's great!
