Raw Dawg, Eric Gales, is one of the most influential American blues-rock guitarist, originally hailed as a child prodigy. As of 2021, Eric has recorded eighteen albums for major record labels.

  • DV Mark Raw Dawg Signature head
  • DV Mark 2x12" vertical cabinet
  • EG RAW Drive amp head
  • EG Fuzz pedal
  • EG Shape Booster pedal
  • Two 4x12" Celestion-based speaker cabinets
  • 13 effects including overdrive, compressor, delay, and modulation pedals

TH-U Eric Gales is a standalone, self-contained software application that includes all of the TH-U editing features including the Rig Player, the Amp Tweaks, the Tuner, and the Looper, with no need to have a preexisting TH-U license.

  • The DV Mark Raw Dawg Signature head and the DV Mark 2x12" vertical cabinet have been designed in a partnership between Eric Gales and DV Mark in order to create a guitar amplifier dedicated to the blues-rock style.
  • It is a one-channel head with a lot of dynamic: its built-it shaping filter, designed to add presence in a very natural way and always keep the guitar tone up in the mix, makes this amp a perfect pedal platform.

For crunch and lead parts with a rock-blues vibe, TH-U Eric Gales pack includes the EG RAW Drive head, a unique amp with a modern mid-gain design. It keeps a perfect balance on all six strings, making it particularly suited for playing chords with distortion.

  • EG Fuzz is designed to recreate Eric's distortion tone while used in conjunction with the DV Mark RAW DAWG amplifier. It delivers a very distinctive tone with a lot of clarity and dynamic transients.
  • The EG Shape Booster is an overdrive pedal with an integrated shaping circuit. By connecting its output to the amplifier input, it allows you to choose which frequencies will be emphasized by the amp saturation. Lower shape settings are better for warm tones with mild saturation/compression, while higher settings will help your solos stand out in the mix.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do these fold up?

A: We agree with Fergus W.Thank you for your interest in TASCAM products.

Q: 2. Have seen YouTube videos claiming one cannot do a mix-minus with a caller on a phone plugged into the 1/8" TRRS. The manual, states on p.23 that a mix-minus WILL occur; that the caller will get the "MAIN OUTPUT" but that "the sound from the smartphone itself is not included in those output signals." 1. Can someone confirm from experience that this is the case--mix-minus works? 2. Can someone confirm if it's possible to do a mix-minus with cell phone AND a mix-minus with something like Zoom or Skype with another person who's on a USB-connected computer? Thanks very much.

A: Mix-minus on the Tascam Model 12 Integrated Production Suite Mixer/Recorder/USB Interface does work when using a cell phone connected to the mixer's 3.5mm TRRS smartphone input. You may also be able to have a second mix-minus for a SKype or Zoom call by using the sub outputs for the audio from the computer without routing them through the main outputs. We have not tested this setup but there do seem to be videos on YouTube that show this type of setup.

Q: 3. Can the Tascam Model 12 output midi timecode?

A: Yes, the Tascam Model 12 Mixer/Recorder can output MIDI timecode while recording and during playback through the MIDI out DIN connector and through the USB connection simultaneously.

Q: 4. What computers are compatible?

A: The Sabrent TH-S3EA Thunderbolt 3 to 10G Ethernet Adapter is compatible with Windows and Mac computers with Thunderbolt 3.

Q: 5. Do the ear cups swivel in either direction ? Are they true over the entire ear or do they sit on the ear ? And would a hard of hearing person be able to hear with this model ?

A: The ear cups on the Tascam TH-02 do not swivel but they do enclose the entire ear. The closed-back design helps to cut down ambient sounds and background noise. It is difficult to say whether or not these particular headphones would work well for someone who is hearing impaired. If they wear hearing aids that fit behind the ear, the speakers will need to be approximately 1 centimeter from the hearing aid to avoid problems with feedback. They should be OK for someone who wears hearing aids that fit inside the ear canal. The best way to determine whether any headphones will be suitable for someone whether or not they are hearing impaired would be for the person to test them to make sure they sound good and are comfortable to wear. Headphones with 50mm drivers will typically fit over the ears of most users. B&H does offer a 30-day return policy, so you can try out the headphones and they are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase if they don't work out well.

Q: 6. What's the difference between the TASCAM TH-02's and Tascam TH-02B's...?

A: TASCAM's TH-02 and TH-02B are the same headphones. The "B" at the end references the black finish.

Q: 7. Does this (and the other Models) record post fader for individual tracks to the SD card? The manual mentions a "post record switch" and "When this switch is on, signals from after the MAIN fader are recorded to the SD card." That's all the info in the manual about this feature. I need to know if this switch allows recording of each channel post fader to the SD card.

A: The Tascam Model 12 Integrated Production Suite Mixer/Recorder/USB Interface appears to standardly record "pre-fader" signals to the SD card. This indicates that the signal at the input source is being recorded before it is affected further down the signal chain by EQ and individual fader level settings. There are ways to change this, such as the "POST REC Switch" you mention, which would indicate a post-fader recording of each channels "mix" level signal. The manual also mentions the ability to select the positions that recording signals are sent from each channel, including the ability to send Pre or Post Compression and Post EQ.

Q: 8. Does it be able to manually adjust link speed to 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100M and so on ?

A: Yes, the link speed of the TH-S3EA Thunderbolt 3 to 10G Ethernet Adapter changes based on connection.

Q: 9. Would I need mic activator for Shure am 58 or Shure sm7b?

A: You will need a cloud lifter for the SM7B

Q: 10. On the model 12, does the phantom power provide to all channels altogethe or we can choose which channel being phantom powered?

A: The Phantom +48V switch on the TASCAM Model 12 Integrated Production Suite Mixer/Recorder/USB Interface activates phantom power on channels 1 to 6, 7/8, and 9/10 simultaneously. When you are using condenser mics and dynamic mics together, you can use balanced dynamic mics, which will not be affected by phantom power, however, unbalanced dynamic mics cannot be used when phantom power is enabled.

[Download] So, I've been using FastRawViewer for...about three weeks now. It actually lives up to the name, being fantastically, well, fast. But that's not the main point; the main point is that FastRawViewer let me better understand my camera, and helped me increase its dynamic range by over a stop, having lowered the amount of noise in the shots - it turns out that you tend to pick better RAW shots when you pick images based on the optimal exposure for RAW, and not for JPEGs (since, earlier, I was forced to work based on JPEG previews). I've tried many programs, both viewers and converters, but none of them gave me the ability to quickly and accurately pick shots with optimal exposure for RAW. Even if FastRawViewer didn't have any tools other than the RAW histogram and the RAW-based over- and underexposure statistics (which it does - FastRawViewer offers a lot of other unique tools for RAW culling and even for preliminary correction), I'd suggest that anyone who shoots in RAW use this program. There is one thing about this program that...saddens me, for lack of a better term. It's shown me that before I started using it, I'd thrown out many, many, many shots that I thought were overexposed, selecting them on the basis of the embedded JPEG. If I'd kept them instead, I would now be able to choose shots that were actually exposed much better, and accordingly had much less noise than those that I chosen to keep without using FastRawViewer.

[Yes] We use Darkroom Booth on our PCs. Wish we started with it! This wasn't our first software. But it will be the last. Once we realized what our strengths were (selling) and our weakness (graphics), we found Darkroom. We are graphic artist wannabes. We were so close to buying AND learning photoshop, but guess what? Darkroom Booth 2 is a drag and drop editor. We customize every layout and all of the screens the guests see and we still spend less time and effort than we did just designing the layouts with our original software. We have never used the same print layout or screens since we moved forward with Darkroom Booth. Clients LOVE personalization. Also, the way it organizes files, it is a cinch to transfer the graphics we create on our office computer to the booth computer/s. We used to sdesign directly on the booth computers, that was cumbersome and meant we had to be where the booth was. Now, we can do the backend work from anywhere! These folks are rolling out new features practically faster than we can learn them. Thankfully, the publisher has great communication with the users to spoon feed the latest and greatest to make sure we know how to use everything! Training/tech support is via LIVE human beings who speak English as a first language, you tube videos and a very active FB forum. Green screen is easy. I mean, really, really easy. Just playing with my laptop in my living room, the software keyed out my house plants. My other software involved tweaking during testing, then again at set up, then again as lighting would change during an event. Darkroom Booth 2 is a relief! Printer drivers are built into the software so you don't have to use the same port every time. Sure wish we would have started with Darkroom Booth 2, but I don't know if we would have known how truly powerful it is.

[Download] I purchased my Mac Pro just so that I can start my own photobooth company. Just to find out that being a MAC user this isn't something that you would want to do with such an expensive device. I downloaded this software to test the device out but it wouldn't work. Thats when I noticed that you can only use this software with Windows.

[Download] These rigs sound amazing! Lots of different impulses and captures to match most scenarios. The addition of direct rigs for use with even more impulse responses is a huge bonus.
