[25.895 lb] I tried everything to mount my Samsung Odyssey G9. I tried heavy-duty mounts from every company, I tried bolting things in place, and I tried everything short of welding a bracket for the monitor.

I still ended up with this Ergotron arm with the HD Pivot. I am so glad that I ended up biting the bullet. Setup was easy, the only issue I had was that I needed to reinforce the desk with wooden boards because the weight was too much for my Ikea desktop. Other than that I am looking at a pile of arms I tried that did not work and realizing that I spent more than the cost of this arm trying to find a cheaper alternative.


Learn from my mistake and just go with this one from the start.

[25.895 lb] While the unit is a bit expensive it is an excellent option worth the money. It mounts well in both formats and is built very sound. Setting one up is not as difficult as one may expect. The serial number is located on the underside of the upper arm, so be sure to record it before you install one.

[25.895 lb] I have tried several moniotr display arms. the Ergotron HX is very good for heavy monitors. I have an LG 45 curved monitor on the HX and wouldn't use anything else. It is solid and steady and yet easly to move around. The HX was easy to assemble, I read the insturctions first and made sure I had received all of the parts. I highly recommend the HX if you have a larger monitor.

[25.895 lb] I purchased a Samsung CRG49 monitor which weighs 33 lbs. and has an 1800R curve.

Set up for this arm took only a few minutes, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. For mounting my monitor I attached the tilt mechanism to the monitor's VESA mount, then the upper arm to the tilt mechanism. This allowed me to easily pickup the monitor and drop the upper arm into the lower arm without having to deal with any screws or supporting the panel during mounting.
Side to side movement is not as smooth as I hoped it would be but once I got it in a position I like, ease of movement is no longer a concern.
It freely adjusts the panel to any height, tilt, and angle I want without slowly sagging down. The wire management loops are helpful too.
All in all don't cheap out on a sub $100 arm for an expensive monitor, if you're dropping over $1100 on a monitor but cant afford a $300 arm then stick to using the monitor legs til you can get the arm. I have seen too many horror stories of folks getting a cheap arm and seeing their new monitor destroyed when the cheap arm failed.

[25.895 lb] The Ergotron HX is holding my Samsung 49-inch G9 and it is simply outstanding. It clears up considerable desk space and allows me to position the monitor exactly as I want. It was easy to put together and attach to my desk and the monitor. Ergotron really did their homework when they designed this arm. It is well worth the price.

[25.895 lb] This arm is an incredibly solid -- it feels weighty and craftsman-like. I purchased the arm to hold my 34 LG ultra-wide monitor, but it's obvious that the arm could have even held much larger monitors or TVs without issue. I was worried that the weight would be too much to clamp the arm to my desk, but it's not a problem at all because the clamp is incredibly secure.
