Each element of this package provides a powerful, complex set of options in a neat and intuitive package. The beauty of these effects is that they maintain their complexity without sacrificing a simple and easy to understand user interface.

[1 User] Reference has breathed new life into my Sony MDR-V6's which have been faithfully serving me for more than 10 years. The only qualm I've had with the Sony's are an apparent sibilance, even if it can be pleasant at times. Reference improves that problem (including an issue with bass) to flatten the response. This has helped immensely with mixing, but has also made general listening more enjoyable and less fatiguing. SONARWORKS has reviewed lots of headphones and rated them based on their before and after calibration performance, so if you're on the market for new headphones, that might be a good starting point for reference. They also offer an additional service for individual calibration which requires sending your headphones in so they can produce a personal profile for your headphones, as opposed to using the general profiles included with the software (you can also purchase a new pre-calibrated pair from them). That's all of course if you're looking for some kind of edge and really find yourself doing a great deal of work on headphones; it could certainly be worth the extra cost particularly for mastering headphones. Pairing this software with something like CanOpener (to simulate monitor crossfeed) will put you pretty close to a solid monitor mixing environment, so this is incredible software particularly for compact or mobile headphone-centric setups, or as a compliment to a studio setup that utilizes headphones in any critical way. Looking forward to using it with new headphones when the time comes. Highly recommended. Be sure to check the full headphone compatibility list to be sure they at least have a general profile for your particular model.

[1 User] I used to mix with waves NLS, great plugin but it’s just not a fast workflow even with template. Studio One is brilliant with their mix fx channel and can’t wait to see what the future brings. CTC-1 is pretty brilliant and it’ll give you 3 very different analogue emulations, that because of the mix fx takes it a step further than any summing plugins out there, not only in how it sounds and works (especially cause of the cross feed), but also just the ease and workflow speed.

This is not a plug-in you put on after a mix as it won’t really work as supposed - and might muddy or make your mix worse. The point of it, is to treat it as your console and mix in to it from scratch. It’ll instantly bring a lot of life and Mojo just by leveling your mix and I find that it makes me process the individual tracks less. I do have a mix bus and parallel compression template but I’m sure no matter your starting mix state mixing in to this will make you experience your mix approach different.

[Download] This compressor is exactly what I was looking for. Transparent, smooth, and powerful. The double-knee system is unique and sounds terrific. The auto-attack & release are so good I never turn them off. Lastly, the ability to add subtle harmonics to the output gain adds that little bit of glisten.

[1 User] This is a fantastic sounding single oscillator synth. It offers something unique compared to BOTH hardware & digital synths. It’s almost like it should be mandatory in everyone’s synth kit.

[1 User] I bought this for the uniquely warm and dynamic electrical sounds it offered, unlike anything I had heard before. The software offers immediately accessible controls to alter the sound quite a bit, and these controls are easy to work with. The real challenge is under the hood, which offers an unbelievably intricate array of choices to make to fine-tune presets and create sounds from scratch. Given the complexity of this challenge, some who are interested in the sounds of Waverazor might consider its simpler version, Miniraze, as an alternative.
