Raster 2 features powerful stereo delay with both forward and reverse delay, which can be shifted once or have continuously shifted repeats. It can deliver a wide range of delay effects including modulated and harmonized delays, reverse delays, chorus, arpeggios, infinite descents, chaotic self-oscillation, and continuously evolving soundscapes.

The core of the Raster 2 is a 1600ms delay time with three ranges for precisely dialing in resonant feedback sounds and instantly changing delay times with rhythmic shifts. The feedback dial allows for infinite repeats and chaotic, textured feedback loops, while a tone control sweeps from dark analog-style repeating to digital clarity. Left and right delay times can be set as a ratio, and can be offset by milliseconds for Haas Effect-like sounds. The two delay channels can be arranged in series, parallel, or ping-pong style.

Pitch shifting repeats up or down in semitone steps to create tempo-synced arpeggios and wild organ sounds. The detune setting can dial in micro pitch shifts and chorused repeats, allowing for unconventional, microtonal expression, and thick textures. The left and right channels can be shifted by the same amount, a ratio, or opposite directions. At subtle settings, repeats evolve in a way that sounds natural, but different from analog delays.

Beyond pitch shifting, a combination phase and frequency shifter creates subtle evolving repeats, dissonant harmonies, and barber pole flanging (infinite flanging). It can be pushed to extremes for ring modulation and inharmonic shifted delays that distort and break apart.

The Raster's modulation section has seven waveforms that can be assigned to delay time, pitch shift, or effect level (for tremolo). There are two random waveforms for glitchy pitch jumps, wow and flutter, and broken tapedeck effects. Envelope and inverse envelope enable dynamic flanging and pitch bent delays. Stereo controls adjust the modulation amount and phase between channels, for subtle shifts or swirling psychedelic washes.

The Raster 2 is a performance-friendly pedal with six knobs and nine switches. Alternate knob settings are related to the primary knob function, labeled, and off at the center position. Both footswitches can be latching or momentary, for instant pitch jumps or quick blasts of echo. The bypass switch can also mute the output in bypass while always listening to catch, repeat, and manipulate what you just played.

[White] This is the best delay / slap-back echo / mod machine I've ever heard. There are versatile sounds for every need, with responsive controls to dial in the perfect effect. Plus, the secret secondary controls make this even more customizable. The looper is lots of fun, though might be a little difficult to pull off live onstage. Basically, if you're looking for a versatile delay, with some added modular swirly/shimmery sounds and a looper thrown in for good measure, stop reading this and buy this pedal. Just be prepared to sit in front your amp and enjoy exploring the sounds this pedal provides, for hours! Highly recommended!

[White] The Korg Monotron Delay is a very immediate and fun sound design machine and processor. What's especially unique about it is that the filter comes after the delay. You can process incoming audio or the oscillator and control the tone of the repeats with the onboard filter, which is taken from the MS20 synth and is a personal favorite of mine. There is no resonance control to the filter but it's set at a very tasty level. This makes for a very creative sonic landscape. The internal oscillator is a saw waveform and can be modulated with either a triangle or a square LFO. Matched with the delay, this delivers some very spacey and interesting sounds. I would say the Monotron Delay is best suited for external processing and making samples. The ribbon controller doesn't offer any precise control and to get a precise pitch is pretty difficult. The ribbon controller offers continuous control of pitch, so sweeps are possible by running your finger up or down the ribbon. I used mine to make a sample library, incorporating the delay in my sound design as the layering of repeats with the filter and the modulation of the LFO makes for some pretty large sounds. I really like how fast the LFO goes. It goes into the audio range for analog-FM style tones. The real magic of this synth comes with the automation of the parameters, delivering hands on motion to otherwise static sounds. A vast array of sonic textures can VERY easily be coaxed out of this with little prior experience. The Monotron Delay delivers wild sonic textures that are at home in any electronic music track looking for something to give it some grimy analog grit.

[250 mA] After searching for weeks for the right delay I finally settled on the timefactor and could not be happier. I use it 2 ways, as the last effect on my pedalboard with stereo INS and stereo outs feeding two amps and from the send to the return of each of two amps. The timefactor works great in both uses. The ability to choose the mix of both dry and delay is great. The ability to use two seperate delay lines is like having two delay lines in one. I also like the three options for bypass type allowing you to use the peal as a buffer in your chain or going full true bypass. For the money this is one of the most versatile units available, and with the quality of eventide behind it, you cannot go wrong.

[White] Alright I'm a Korg fan. Have the Monotron Duo, which is awesome especially since you can play it in tune, but the Delay is extra amazing. It is way more versatile than any youtube video would lead you to believe...just subtle alterations of the knobs open gateways to truely otherworldly sounds. Think 50s science fiction movies. I use a Nintendo DS stylus on the ribbon controller, works better than fingers. Excellent machine at an unbeatable price for making burbling, crazy noises to compliment your tracks. Pure fun.
