Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, is this a clicked/stopped aperture ring, or "clickless"?

A: Yes, there are subtle click stops.

Q: 2. Will this attach to a Blackmagic 6K Pro ?

A: This TTArtisans 17mm f/1.4 Lens for Canon EF-M does not fit the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, being that this camera has a Canon EF mount.

Q: 3. How pronounced are the aperture ring clicks?

A: The clicked aperture of the TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 Lens for Nikon Z (Black) is pronounced enough that one can feel the change when turning the aperture ring.

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with a Lumix G7?

A: Yes, the following lens is based on a micro four thirds unit.

Q: 5. Is there a lens hood for use with the TTArtisan 17mm for Fuji? I'd like to spend less than the Heliopan.

A: Although there isn't a dedicated hood for the TTArtisans 17mm f/1.4 Lens, you may use the Heliopan 40.5mm Short Metal Lens Hood, BH # HELHMS40.5. https://bhpho.to/3GXfuie

Q: 6. Will this work with a black magic 4k cinema camera?

A: Yes, this TTArtisans 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Micro Four Thirds can work on the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K.

Q: 7. Will this RF lense work on EF mounted camera like 90D?

A: Unfortunately the TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 Lens cannot be adapted to an SLR camera like the Canon 90D.

Q: 8. So if FL is 50 on an APSC lens, FL is smaller on a full frame. So what is 75mm referencing in the stats?

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Sony E (Black) is physically 50mm in focal length which does not change. When used on an APS-C camera with a 1.5x crop factor, this is the equivalent of 75mm on full frame because of the crop factor.

Q: 9. Will this work with Sony E mount, specifically the ZV E10?

A: No, this lens is designed for the Nikon Z mount. This is the Sony E mount version... https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1644039-REG/ttartisan_a22b_17mm_f_1_4_aps_c_lens.html

Q: 10. On the lens specification page of the product manual, the frame is mentioned as APS-C. What will the focal length be on an M43?

A: Cameras with a Micro Four Third sensor have a 2x crop factor. So, the TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 Lens for Micro Four Thirds (Black) has an angle of view of a 34mm lens on a full-frame camera.

[f/16] This is a really solidly built little lens, and was perfect for getting back into photography by ditching the kit lens on my Sony a6000. At f/4 or f/5.6 it's razor sharp, and at f/2 it's soft in a romantic way that can be fun. The aperture clicks so you always know what you're doing, and the focus range is great to have to. An absolute no-brainer of a lens to buy, especially if you're having Fuji x100 envy but instead have an APS-C camera in need of some love.

[10] I purchased this as an experiment/replacement for my troubled 14-42mm kit lens and have been very impressed with the results. The glass combined with the fully-manual operation give a more vintage/filmlike feel to the end result, and it's worked well as an everyday lens for everything from travel to pet photography.

With the 2x crop factor for this lens, it works as the equivalent of the popular 50mm prime. The construction quality is very high particularly for the affordable price point. The aperture ring is of the clicky variety.

I've had no issues with the physical fit or the operation on my OMD EM10 MkIII; using it isn't very difficult once you understand how to use the camera in manual mode. When shooting you almost feel like you're operating a classic Pentax or Olympus half-frame film camera except that the results are instantaneous.

If you haven't used fully-manual lenses, there will be a learning curve, but it's not that bad; overall I prefer the results I get with this lens, and in most ways it's a lot more fun.

[40.5 mm (Front)] Fun to play with for the price. Impressed with the build quality.

[40.5 mm (Front)] Full disclosure, I bought this lens because of its looks. I am that shallow! But, boy I was impressed. Its metal construction, its small size, its clicky aperture and the screw-in metal cap....and amazingly beautiful! And the image, really sharp at wide open. The bokeh is like if it was a 1.2 aperture. I compared head to head with my Panasonic 25mm 1.7, and the bokeh is way superior on the TT Artisans. And the colors too! For $55 it's a no brainer! Just get it and thank me later. One thing, for a reason I can't understand it cannot be used with IS on my Pen F, it drives the IS crazy. It works great on my OM-5 and G9. If you need a 25mm lens, get this one, if you don't mind manual focus. It will make you a better photographer.... :)

[Manual Focus] Pancake design is great for pairing with small apsc cameras. I have this lens with the Sony zve10, renders well for the price point. Fun little lens with manual functionality.

[Manual Focus] So far, this lens has done everything I've asked it to do. Plus, it's tiny an light . I would 100% recommend it.

[40.5 mm (Front)] This almost-pancake lens is a pleasure to use. I took the picture in downtown Toledo at sunrise, and the lens performed perfectly. Having to set the aperture mechanically is a new experience for me. It makes me think in new ways, and this lens is a great way to give it a try.

[40.5 mm (Front)] Honestly I didn’t have high expectations for this lens. It has become my daily driver for my Lumix G85, the images come out sharp and honestly love the look it brings out.
