This 77mm 77mm Night Kit by Kasefrom 77mm Night Kit by Kaseremoves the yellow cast caused by light pollution during night photography, isolating the harmful effect of artificial lights on imaging. Especially useful for late-night, long-exposure imaging near cities or other sources of light pollution, this filter cuts light from the color spectrum, like that from low-CRI light sources.

This filter is made of shock-resistant optical glass and features multicoating for optimal sharpness, light transmission, and the reduction of flare. The coating also resists water and oil, as well as scratches and minor abrasions, making it ideal for use on location in harsh environments. It attaches to a lens in seconds using the included 77mm magnetic adapter ring, which allows up to four magnetic filters to be stacked for combined effects.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will these work on both Sony FE 24-105 F4 G and Canon RF 24-105 f4?

A: Yes, the 77mm Wolverine Magnetic ND filter Kit II will work with both the Sony and Canon 24-105mm lenses

Q: 2. does this filter pass 5577 angstroms? I wish to pass 5577 for auroral photography, but otherwise block Na 5890 & other street lamp emissions. Maybe i can get a transmission spectrum for this filter? Otherwise, can you recommend an ideal auroral/light pollution filter? thank you.

A: Unfortunately, for whatever reason NiSI does not list the angstroms for this filter. However, I would take their word that it is: Reduces Light Pollution in Night Sky, Blocks Yellow Sodium-Vapor Light, Blocks Yellow Mercury-Vapor Light, and Blocks Yellow Light from Low CRI LEDs. If it does not, they will lose customers.

Q: 3. I can’t find extra standard adapters for the revolution 77mm kit, or do you buy the wolverine adapter for your extra lenses?

A: To use the Kase KW Revolution Professional ND Kit (77mm) on additional lenses with 77mm threads, get the Kase Wolverine Magnetic Filter Adapter Ring (77mm), BH #KAMAR77MM.

Q: 4. If using on a Nikon 16-35, will stacking 2 filters cause vignette ??

A: Yes, there is a chance of vignetting when stack 2 filters together on the Nikon 16-35mm f/4.

Q: 5. does this filter fit on the nikkor 70-300 f4.5-6.3 lens for nikon cameras?

A: The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens uses a 58mm filter in front. The NiSi 58mm Natural Night Filter is a better choice. https://bhpho.to/3juKIAh

Q: 6. Which Kase 77mm adapter ring do I need for the lens itself that works correctly with these DIY rings?

A: The Kase DIY Magnetic Screw-In Adapter Ring Kit (77mm) includes two rings. One ring is screwed on the lens and the other is screwed on the filter. You don't need to buy a ring separately to have this work with one filter. If you want to place a ring on a second filter so that you can easily switch between two filters quickly you can purchase extra rings for the filter here. https://bhpho.to/45FWGka Unfortunately, Kase does not make available just the lens ring available separately. The lens ring is only sold together with the filter ring.

Q: 7. Does B&H sell the Bahtinov filter separatey (that is the one with the Y-shaped groovings)?

A: We offer the Farpoint Snap-In 77mm Camera Filter Bahtinov Focus Mask, BH # FAFP443 which snaps over these Kase filters. https://bhpho.to/3yJ74Xa

Q: 8. How much vignetting can one expect while using both ND and CPL on Canon RF 50mm f1.2?

A: The Kase 77mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II will not vignette a 50mm lens when stacking 2 filters.

Q: 9. With the 77mm magnetic adapter ring attached to my Sony 24-100mm lens (also 77mm thread), can the lens hood still be used? And same question for the 100-400 mm lens.

A: Yes, it is possible to use the Sony lens hood when using the Kase 77mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II on your lens.

Q: 10. Do the Wolverine step up adapters work with the Revolution filters?

A: Yes the Kase Wolverine magnetic step up rings are compatible with both the Wolverine and Revolution lines of filters.

[Light Pollution] Well made and extremely easy to use. The magnetic mount makes changing filters convenient and reduces the chance of dropping one or cross threading one when attaching.

The optical quality is first rate.

[Aluminum] Well built. The magnet is strong, and the ring is very thin.

[Glass] My first ND filter set. This is the perfect set of ND filters for my purposes. I had no need for gradNDs so this is just what I need.

[0.195 lb] Yes, they are expensive. So is every high quality filter out there. Because these are magnetic, changing filters is no longer a hassle. I'm shooting all my video on manual with a 70mm to 100mm lens. The filters are essential when your gain is set to 0 and you're shooting on a bright day or shooting a sunrise or sunset. Old school filters are a pain. You have to pull them out, not drop them and then insert or screw the new filter in. Not with Kase. You can mount up to four filters on your lens and the magnet keeps them snug. I've turned my camera upside side and shaked it and none of the filters fell off. I actually did drop one. It fell to the ground with no damage and no scratches. The filters are high quality and show no color discoloration.
What more could you ask for a filter system.

[Aluminum] These filters are leagues above what I've used in the past. That are worth every penny. The simplicity of the magnets is just awesome. Also in my limited testing there appears to be either very little or no color cast when using these. Even when you've got a couple of them stacked.

[Light Pollution] Kade Wolverine filter is awesome. It is so light weight and have very strong magnets. It great to get the heavy weight from my 100mm filter system off my lens.

[Glass] Never miss the opportunity to capture just the right shot. No fumbling around for the right adapter, it's already on the lens. And no frustration at trying to screw on the filter, it just snaps on and you're ready to go. Perfect filter setup.

[Aluminum] As the headline says, they work. Still trying to get the hang of the CPL. Looking forward to putting the ND filters through their paces on my trip to Niagara Falls. The kit is well worth the money, you get several filters with a nice carrying case. The best part is the adapter ring is magnetic so you are not limited to using Laser filters. Just remember to make sure they are magnetic. Highly recommended for the ease of use.

[Aluminum] I initially purchased a snap in Bahtinov mask to focus a Canon EF 400mm F 5.6 for astrophotography. While the snap-in worked, in the context of a small LCD on the back of a DSLR it was very difficult to see the diffraction spikes even when zoomed in. Part of the problem was that the plastic snap-in mask blocks at least 50% of the incoming light because of the thick diffraction struts. The narrow-width diffraction pattern of the Kase Bahtinov mask lets in much more light, which results in much longer/brighter diffraction spikes. The Kase Bahtinov mask is a very good focusing aid when viewing with a DSLR LCD screen.

[0.195 lb] Whether it be a Kase Wolverine neutral density filter, or Magnetic Lens Cap you want to fit, the process all starts with this little blighter.. Ingenious, allowing the original lens hoods to be fitted either way, my experience is limited to Nikon, Zeiss, Fuji, Sigma, Olympus and Hasselblad lenses. I am sure there will be one out there, but I haven't found it yet!
