A: As of the date/time of this response, Really Right Stuff does not list a lens plate on their website compatible for the Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM Lens, and does not indicate that the Really Right Stuff LCF-53 Foot for Canon 200-400mm and 400mm, 500mm, & 600mm IS II Lenses, B&H # RELCF53FOOT, would be compatible for use with the new Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM Lens. As such, we would have to wait until the lens is available and for Really Right Stuff to either confirm if the current plate is compatible or for them to design a new plate which would be compatible with the new lens.

[Yes] I use the Wimberley AP-554 to replace the original Nikon AF-s 500mm f/4 IF-ED foot. I can now use the lens with arca-swiss type heads, giving me more flexibility. The price is right and the build quality is great. 5

[SS2] Quality is top notch, and was a great addition to my Nikon 500mm f/4. Foot is perfectly machined and finish is nice. Wimberley includes a nice T-handle hex wrench which I greatly appreciated. Very satisfied. 5

[Yes] Hard to understand why when everyone uses a Arca-Swiss mount on a tripod with super telephotos why Nikon fails to provide this foot as standard on a $8400 lens. This Wimberley foot is a perfect replacement and is a big improvement over the Nikon or other mounts like the one from Really Right Stuff. The Wimberley is long enough to balance the lens properly with a camera attached and it has a double grove so that a flash bracket can be mounted to the plate as well. Another very nice touch is the addition of safety stops in the form of two small hex socket head screws. If you have ever loosened a Arca-Swiss or similar holder and had your expensive lens start to slide you will realize that these two safety stops are actually essential. I would not use a foot that did not have these provided. The new Wimberley provides excellent balance with the use of the Wimberely Sidekick which is another great innovation of theirs. The Sidekick changes a ball head into a gimbal head in 5 seconds - much better than carrying around two heads and or two tripods into the field. 5

[Yes] Fit on mounting holes is perfect. Use the included screws with a dab of BLUE loctite. The Nikon screws are too short. The plate is stiffer and fits the Wimberley gimbal heads perfectly. It's lighter than adding an adapter plate on the foot. This is the foot Nikon should ship with the lens. Stop reading this and buy it now. You will be really pleased. 5

[Yes] I got it for a 200-400mm lens. I initially hesitated tinkering with the original parts of the lens, but installation was incredibly easy I no longer have to rely on flimsy plates that would become lose over time I'm very happy 5

[SS2] I ordered this foot to take the place of the original foot on my 500f/4 lens, I felt the original was too tall and seamed to have a bit of flex to it, the Wimberley is solid shorter and also can be used as a handle to carry it. 5
