Q: 6. Does it function without the 15mm rod section attached? As in can it be secured to the camera and a tripod plate without the 15mm rod "block" in the middle? The pictures seem to imply this might work, but there are no clear views. My use-case would rarely need the rods, but the shoulder support/belt clip could be useful for a lot of inconspicuous run and gun work.

A: Yes. The 15mm rods can be taken out of its places.

A: The Sabrent TH-S3EA Thunderbolt 3 to 10G Ethernet Adapter requires a host connection Thunderbolt 3. It would not be backwards compatible with USB C.

Q: 10. Will it work with any camera? Why is there model specific plates for example REBD850BP?

A: This is a universal plate for all cameras and there are camera specific plates. Some cameras don't have dedicated plates and so there are universal plates to use, also some folks have multiple cameras, instead of getting a bunch of camera specific plates, they can just get a universal plate that will work with all of their cameras.
