A: Hi, I bought this D-ring about six months ago thinking I would be able to switch between plates and move my camera from my tripod to my gimbal quickly. Unfortunately the head on this D-ring was to thick and wouldn't give me enough clearance between the plate and the tripod head. This was just my experience with this product. Maybe you'll have better luck. I was also using the 504 long.

At 2.76 x 2.36 , the TY70-2 plate is quite long and wide to support larger cameras. Its thumbscrew has a flip-up element that enables you to insert it tool-free into any camera's 1/4 -20 thread. Can your plate clear the 1/4 diameter? Using fingers, can't get enough tightness. Still have to use either a hex wrench or a coin. Have run into clearance problems with the D-ring. Went back to the stock hex keyed fastener.

I am considering replacing the plate I use this, with a plate that has an extended feature specifically to use the strap without removing the tripod plate.I do not know about the T-1 (don't have/have not used)
