Q: 1. I have a similar question to one that was asked already but not yet answered. I want to use this to convert HDMI output from a Canon 7D and feed it into Zoom or OBS. I have tried the Canon Utility and there is noticeable lag. Can this be used with that camera and feed it into a Mac?

A: This product only works if your camera has a clean HDMI output. If the camera does not have a clean HDMI output then the capture device will include the screen overlay information (such as battery life, memory card space etc). check the manual to determine whether or not your camera has the ability to turn off the screen overlays.

Q: 2. can it be connected to my actual cat 5 network, or i have to cable a dedicated?

A: Everyone's correct, you cant. And the ones that you can, bandwidth is much lower (even Gigibit Ethernet) so there is compression at 1080.

Q: 3. Will the distribution amp support multiple resolutions, or will it "dumb down" all resolutions to the lowest resolution?

A: KanexPro 1x8 HDMI Distribution Amplifier and Cat 5e/6 Extender Kit (18 Gb/s) would take HD and 4k contend into the extender and send out up to 8 of the same signal over HDMI. It does not have a scaler so whatever resolution or framerate you put in would be duplicated on the 8 HDMI outputs. The kit supports resolutions UP to 4k@50/60hz 4:4:4.

Q: 4. Will this work as a device to stream capture from the Dishanywhere app in the web browser or using Capture4me app ?

A: This will not allow you to capture a Dish Network or any other cable/satellite feed.

Q: 5. Will it work if only the receiver is plugged into 5V power, or does the transmitter need it as well?

A: Yes. Both units must be powered via barrel (5 VDC at 1 A) Input.

Q: 6. Does the receiver support POE? If I were to put a POE injector on the Ethernet coming out of the transmitter.

A: The KanexPro HDMI Full HD Extender over Cat6 (196') does not support PoE as a power option.

Q: 7. Can this system work in cascade , using the HDMI output of the transmitter to feed another transmitter. If so, how many times without a lost of quality?

A: Unfortunately, the EXT-HD60M cannot be cascaded.

Q: 8. Does this support HDCP?

A: Yes, it is EDID/HDCP transparent. What is connected at the transmiter side is reflected at the receiver side. It is NOT an EDID/HDCP emulator.

Q: 9. Does this unit support 3D input/output?

A: I have not used it with any 3D input so sorry but cannot answer your question.

Q: 10. Does this works after 5 hours of usage?

A: Mine has been on 24/7 and fine since May.

[2] Works well over 265m distance transmitting audio/video in HD for international photography events. Have used this successfully for 2 years for Paraty em Foco Festival with no complaints from the hundreds of pro photographers who attend. 5

[8 x 4.6 x 3"] Last minute idea from my client to do video and we needed to run the video feed 500'. Went on-line to, where else, B&H and less than 20 hours later I had it in my hand and we were starting the event. The unit worked flawlessly, we actually sent video down 700' without any problems. Great addition to any workbox and the salesperson at B&H was awesome as usual! 5

[8 x 4.6 x 3"] I'm using two of these to extend a dual monitor / extended desktop to a workstation across the room. I've tried competing products with signal auto adjust and they simply don't work. The remote displays are as clear as the local displays. I am not using the audio feature of this product and cannot comment on its performance. The value is execeptional as I got two for less than I paid for 1 of another brand. I have no complaints about this product. 5

[Metal] I used in to run a signal from my matrix switcher to a TV 80ft away. I worked perfectly. No signal loss, and plug and play setup. The only thing I wish for was mounting capabilities on the receiver end, but that's neither here nor there. 5

[2] Although I only am sending about 100 feet, it worked as good as the Extron units that I have used in other installs. The price point makes this a go to for me even for shorter runs (75-100 feet) that could be handled by a quality VGA cable and the longer runs too. 5
