Allowing you to output to a streaming server via an IP address, the AVMATRIX H.264 H.265 SDI Encoder Streaminglets you efficiently live stream without connecting to a computer. Featuring an SDI input and loop output as well as an independent 3.5mm audio input, it allows you to encode up to 1080p60 video with embedded audio into an IP stream, or choose to encode audio only, and send out either signal over an Ethernet interface while monitoring the input video source locally.

You can send to popular streaming destinations such as Facebook, YouTube, and Wowza for applications including live weddings, sporting events, live medical broadcasts, and educational activities. The encoder allows dual streaming via a main stream and a sub stream. Additionally, image and text overlay and mirror image/flip can be applied over your source. All the different options are selectable via a Web user interface.

The encoder has a default IP address and can automatically obtain a new IP address when it is using DHCP on the network. You can disable DHCP and configure the encoder and computer's network in the same network segment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. For TV quality recording, how How would this compare with Nikon Z6, 35mm prime lens and Atomos external for 10 bit 422?

A: Both will give you outstanding image quality, however it is very difficult to do a comparison between this camcorder with a 1" sensor and 15x Optical Zoom lens and a Full Frame Mirrorless Photo Camera with a fixed 35mm lens. They are designed to serve two very different purposes.

Q: 2. Has anyone had experience with XF705 low light performance? And how far can you push the gain?

A: With its 1" sensor it will out perform cameras with smaller sensor's. You should see acceptable performance in low light with this camcorder. Higher gain will always look like higher gain. So practice good cinematography techniques of exposing correctly, adding light whenever you can and you will get great images.

Q: 3. What's the Canon XF705 ENG STYLE EMEENS ?

A: The XF705's design is suited for ENG, documentary and run-and-gun productions. ENG means Electronic News-Gathering, which is a term used for camera people shooting for the news.

Q: 4. Canon xf705 camera tested with Sony 128GB SF-G Tough Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card ?

A: While we are not aware of any specific testing the Sony 128GB SF-G Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card, B&H # SOSD128GBUII, should be compatible with this camcorder. https://bhpho.to/2oxZAWA

Q: 5. Will the camera accept an external battery plugged into the DC power port?

A: The XF705 comes with an AC Power Supply included. If you still have additional questions feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.

Q: 6. Can Adobe Premiere import files shot by this camera in H.264 (1920x1080), without needing any conversion?

A: Yes Adobe Premiere can. The latest version of Adobe Premiere is able to handle H.264 files.

Q: 7. Do the C100 MK II batteries work with this camera?

A: These cameras use different batteries that are not interchangeable.

Q: 8. What's the sensor format? (3x4)?

A: The XF705 has a 1" sensor which is 16x9.

Q: 9. Can these files be imported into an Avid Adrenaline Media Composer 5.5 with an older MacPro computer?

A: They cannot. You would need the current version of Avid Media Composer.

Q: 10. What's the Canon XF705 ISO BASE ?

A: The XF705 is a ENG Style Camcorder, traditionally these kinds of camcorders do not have ISO as a setting as they are not trying to duplicate Film Speeds. To raise your exposure beyond what your IRIS can offer the setting of Gain will be used, with the optimal setting being 0 db.

[1x RJ45 LAN] I do a lot of live performance and have been using the Canon XF 300s with good success, so for me the upgrade to the 705 was a no brainer.
Ive only had the 705 for about a week now but I did a 90 minute test filming in camera to H.265/HEVC 4:2:2 10 bit and outputting via 12G SDI to a Shogun Inferno set to Pro Res HD.
After the 90 minutes of filming, the Shogun Pro Res amounted to a 1.2 TB file in my Macs Premiere Pro. However, I was unable to import the H.265 from the camera file into Premiere Pro CC 2018. I assume that Adobe will soon provide a firmware update to allow H.265 files to work in Premiere Pro without having to convert them.
In any event, Im very impressed with the camera and am looking forward to taking advantage of all the improvements they have made over the XF 300.

[1x BNC (3G-SDI)] The Osprey is quite versatile and reliable. We have purchased dozens of the G1 & G2 encoders for use throughout numerous facilities in our extensive network. Our primary use is for multicasting, but we also do a number of unicasts and YouTube streams.
Osprey tech support is so helpful and knowledgeable, which is another huge selling point.
We have used numerous other manufacturers products (HaiVision, Evertz, Ensemble Design, and Lynx). All of them work fine but Osprey offered the best quality and reliability for the price.

[1x RJ45 LAN] I purchased a XF705 from B&H approximately 7 months ago. I have been waiting patiently for a FCPX upgrade to allow the H.265 files to be ingested to FCPX. Good News...with the recent upgrade to FCPX, ver 10.4.7, I can import the XF705 H.265 files directly into FCPX. I am running macOS Mojave, ver 10.14.6. My iMac computer was manufactured in late 2015. I have to use proxy files for editing, otherwise my computer hangs up.

[1x BNC (3G-SDI)] There's so many protocols to work with in this little box, and decodes practically anything thrown at it.

It's not an entry level unit but it's very very good and VITEC keeps improving it

[ 5 W] Bought this and its matching tx. They seem pretty good. You can select different definitions, FHD, HD, SD, and then can assign them to the 3 types, and allocate bit rates for each. Eg you can select HD, send that to SD and a bit rate of 800 and FHD to HD and a bit rate of 2000 etc. It then selects the resolution type, eg 720P. The only limitation I find a bit strange is that the full range of resolutions, are not available all the time. They vary what is available depending on the Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz of the incoming HDMI. I am using 60Hz, and this does not have 1080i, but if I was using 50Hz, then 1080i would be included.
60Hz has 480i, 480P, 720P, 1080P.
50Hz has 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080P, 1080i.
The other strange thing I notice is that if I select a bit rate of 800Kbps, and then monitor the link at the IP level, it seems to be using about 3.5Mbps.
However, for quality and ease of use, these seem to be great devices.

[6.9 x 6 x 2.9"] This Camcorder exceeds all my expectations. I came from the Sony PXW-Z190 and I do miss the 25X optical zoom but now I have more clarity and 4K is awesome. The recording in HEVC files makes the files half the size of the regular .264 or MPEG files with double the quality. The 30X zoom is very usable. The slow motion is buttery smooth. The U30 battery that comes with it won’t give you all day recording, so get the U60 for that. The Canon L glass shows clear and precise. I haven’t tested low light yet, but the groups and forums on Facebook have tested and uploaded clips that say its a winner in that regard as well. The biggest compliment is the use of SD cards...Initially I was leary about getting this camcorder because FCPX couldn’t read the HEVC files...6 months later, FCPX can read the files and edit them. Just be sure you have a fairly newer MacBook Pro because I have two, one I bought in 2014 and the newer one I bought in 2017...I recorded two different church services and loaded each on the different laptops. The newer 2017 model processed the files with no problem, but the older 2014 would load in FCPX but that’s it. So I took a clip 30 seconds long, updated my software, updated FCPX and tried, still no processing or saving the clip...So now I will be getting a new MacBook Pro to make sure I have a New Laptop that I know should work and also a backup in my 2017...Oh and Canon just released a new firmware for the XF705 with some nice improvements and fixed some problems people were experiencing...I didn’t have any problems but then again I’ve only had it two weeks...It’s not cheap but if you got about 8000 laying around go for it...

[SDI] As we acquire more advanced multimedia storytelling skills, using the camera has to become almost second nature to us. The real emphasis evolves from which camera and lens to use into always being ready to capture the story as it unfolds with interviews and supporting that story with plenty of supporting B roll media and stills.

The alternative is simply missing the action or out of focus stuff while fiddling with a cinema camera. For solo shooters or a very small crew, the new Canon XF705 will do a fantastic job for most all projects. Its ease of use, solid feel, shallow DOF and low light capabilities, ability to shoot 4k on fast inexpensive SDXC cards offers a very different workflow to using a Cinema camera and heavy rail system much less trying to keep those Cinema lenses in focus.

As of today, the Canon utility for the brand new camera allows you to view the 4k media on either a PC or Mac, but neither FCP X, nor Adobe are able to ingest that media. That will be coming soon they tell me.

Well worth the money!
