This KanexPro 4K HDR HDMI 2.0 Extender Set over Cat 7/6/5efrom KanexPro 4K HDR HDMI 2.0 Extender Set over Cat 7/6/5esends and receives HDMI 2.0 signals up to 18 Gb/s beyond the ability of a standard HDMI cable, extending both 4K video and audio up to 197' over a single Cat 7/6a/6/5e cable. The set consists of a transmitter and a receiver that can transmit 4K60 video up to 197' over Cat 7/6a/6 cable, and it can transmit 1080p video up to 230' over Cat 7/6a/6 cable. It can also transmit 4K60 video up to 164' over Cat 5e cable.

In addition to being EDID compliant, the HDMI 2.0 extender set supports HDCP 2.2; the transmitter has an HDMI loop output, and it passes through audio embedded in the HDMI signal, supporting up to PCM7.1, Dolby True HD, and DTS HD formats. The units can also pass through IR signaling using the included IR blaster/receiver cables and the IR input/output ports. A power adapter is included to power one unit and the power for the other unit is supplied through the Cat 7/6a/6/5e cable.

Cat 7/6a/6: 230' for 1080p, 197' for 4K60

Q: 1. Can this system work in cascade , using the HDMI output of the transmitter to feed another transmitter. If so, how many times without a lost of quality?

A: Unfortunately, the EXT-HD60M cannot be cascaded.

Q: 2. can it be connected to my actual cat 5 network, or i have to cable a dedicated?

A: Everyone's correct, you cant. And the ones that you can, bandwidth is much lower (even Gigibit Ethernet) so there is compression at 1080.

Q: 3. Can I connect this to a 2.1mm or 2.5mm plug to use with a V-mount battery?

A: This unit is meant to run off an AC/DC power adapter which supplies 5VDC. V-mount batteries supply a nominal rating of 14.4VDC. If these two units were directly connected the splitter would be instantly damaged. Q: 4. Does this works after 5 hours of usage?

A: Mine has been on 24/7 and fine since May.

Q: 5. Is there any sort of a delay from transmit to receive? I used other brands as a way to extend a computer monitor and had horrible lag. What is the lag like with this device?

A: Don't have a clue. There's the unit and the power supply. Plugging it in turns it on.

Q: 7. my output device is displayPort, if i use an adaptor. Will that cause any issues?

A: Technically, it should work, however, it can cause issues depending on the content being displayed and the type of adapter used. Protected content requires compliant adapters. Additionally, anytime more adapters are added there is more possibility of issues.

Q: 8. if the original signal (hdmi in) has video and audio; the audio in for 3.5 connector overwrite the original audio?

A: The purpose of the 3.5mm is to provide audio for an HDMI signal that doesn't carry audio at all.

A: This will not allow you to capture a Dish Network or any other cable/satellite feed.

[Cat 5e/6/6a/7] The extender is reaching a monitor at 75 ft., without issue. Installation was easy including adjustments to the video quality via the two tuning screws on the receiver unit. Audio also works as advertised using 1/8 jack. I am using this unit to replace a similar extender which was damaged by a line spike. Yes, I also installed surge protection! 5

[HDMI RJ45] Last minute idea from my client to do video and we needed to run the video feed 500'. Went on-line to, where else, B&H and less than 20 hours later I had it in my hand and we were starting the event. The unit worked flawlessly, we actually sent video down 700' without any problems. Great addition to any workbox and the salesperson at B&H was awesome as usual! 5

[HDMI RJ45] I'm using two of these to extend a dual monitor / extended desktop to a workstation across the room. I've tried competing products with signal auto adjust and they simply don't work. The remote displays are as clear as the local displays. I am not using the audio feature of this product and cannot comment on its performance. The value is execeptional as I got two for less than I paid for 1 of another brand. I have no complaints about this product. 5

[1.335 lb] Although I only am sending about 100 feet, it worked as good as the Extron units that I have used in other installs. The price point makes this a go to for me even for shorter runs (75-100 feet) that could be handled by a quality VGA cable and the longer runs too. 5
