Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'm wondering what the "stop" range on this filter is?

A: The Formatt Hitech 62mm Firecrest SuperSlim Circular Polarizer Filter, B&H # FOFCSSCP62, has a filter factor of 2.5, which would reduce 1.3 stops from your normal exposure.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of the product closed with filters?

A: The thickness of the filters can be different so that is a variable. The width and length is approximately when folded, 175mm x 90mm.

Q: 3. Is this a clear, neutral filter?

A: No, the Formatt Hitech 58mm Ultraviolet (UV) Haze 2A Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass Filter is an Ultraviolet (UV) Haze 2A filter. Please review the item shown below for a clear filter: Formatt Hitech Clear Filter (58mm) B&H # FOC58 • MFR # BF 58-CLEARST https://bhpho.to/3MqjcnR

Q: 4. What thread pitch has this filter?

A: The Formatt Hitech SuperSlim filters are 5.5mm thin. Nov 30, 2014

Q: 5. An 82mm filter with a 39mm front thread? Amazing! How did they do that? It sure doesn't look like that in the photos.

A: Quite frankly, I have no idea. I purchased the 67mm diamater UV filter. It has 67mm male threads on the lens facing side and 67mm female threads facing out. While B&H does an excellent job of thousands of product descriptions, occasionally a typo (either theirs or the manufacturers) does make it into an online product description. If you have questions as to the suitability of any of their products, do take advantage of their chat function. I have and find they really know their stuff and they stayed with me until my questions were answered.

A: This filter has an aluminum ring.

A: Cokin P filter size is 3.3 x 4.7" / 84 x 120 mm and this takes 6- 3.3 x 4.3" / 85 x 110mm filters a little to small

Q: 8. Is this filter rated as a solar filter suitable for photographing the sun?

A: Formatt Hitech 105mm Firecrest Ultra ND 5.4 Filter (18-Stop) does not have an ISO rating for safe solar viewing. It may work for a camera as it is not sensitive as human eyes, but if you want to be 100% safe I would recommend looking for a filter that is listed with an ISO rating for safe solar viewing.

Q: 9. What are the three dimensions of this filter pouch when filled with filters and closed?

A: Good question. We would say it would be 110mm x 160 x 30mm approximately.

Q: 10. Could you please tell me, if this filter be compatible with 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Micro Four Thirds? Thank you!

A: As the 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Micro Four Thirds has 39mm filter threads, yes, the Formatt Hitech 39mm Firecrest SuperSlim UV 370nm Filter would be compatible for use on the 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens.

[UV] I've been taking photographs since the 1960's and didn't realize that a UV filter could add so much additional clarity when shooting in hazy conditions. Off the camera I looked at a scene and then looked at the scene through this filter. What a difference in clarity! I'm looking forward to better landscape photographs without having to work so hard in Photoshop. This filter does more than just protect your lens.

[UV] It's a fairly expensive little filter, but I'm glad I bought it. It really smartened up the purple fringing on my Tamron 60B, a fairly elderly 300/2.8. I use it as a rear filter and at the sweet spot (f8) there's only an occasional bit of residual green fringing that's very easy to deal with in post. Big improvement on a favorite lens from my film days.

[7 x 6.7 x 0.1"] Affordable, very slim, seems well made and it's coated = great choice for a basic protection filter
