The Sennheiser EW 100 G4-Ci1 Wireless Lavalier Mic Kitis an easy-to-set-up rackmount wireless system that brings reliable high-quality, wireless sound to guitar and bass players performing in small to medium-sized venues including concert stages, houses-of-worship, theaters, and clubs.

The EW 100 G4-Ci1 features a true diversity, half-rack receiver housed in a rugged, full-metal chassis. The receiver's auto-scan function searches a wide 42 MHz UHF tuning range with 1680 selectable frequencies available, seeking out a clean, interference-free channel for your audio transmission. The onboard guitar tuner is an added convenience for musicians.

This system includes a Ci 1 cable that connects your instrument to the lightweight bodypack transmitter. The transmitter provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a fixed 30mW RF power output and a transmission range up to 330'. Up to 12 wireless channels can operate simultaneously in the same space, with the receivers linked together for fast, multi-channel frequency setup.

The EW 100 G4-Ci1 is backward-compatible with previous evolution systems. You can mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 300/500 systems.

The 4' long Ci 1 cable connects the 1/4" output of your guitar or bass to the bodypack transmitter's locking 3.5mm input.

The adjustable input sensitivity on the transmitter accommodates instruments with passive and active electronics, and even line-level audio.

The rugged, all-metal transmitter features a programmable mute function and can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance. A backlit LCD displays essential information and provides fast menu access. The transmitter syncs to the receiver via infrared with a quick press on the Sync button.

The SK 100 G4 is powered via two AA batteries or a rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). Side contacts allow for recharging the Accupack without removing it from the transmitter—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately).

The robust, metal EM 100 receiver offers a high-contrast, black and white LCD. The display uses a streamlined menu system with a dedicated Escape button for quick menu navigation and shows battery status of the associated transmitter.

The system features 20 fixed frequency banks with up to 12 compatible frequency presets and 1 user bank with up to 12 user-programmable frequencies.

To prevent interference, the EM 100 receiver's true-diversity reception compares incoming signals on two independent receiver circuits to ensure optimal RF quality. To ensure crystal clear audio, Sennheiser's proprietary HDX compander technology maximizes the microphone's signal-to-noise ratio, while avoiding RF noise.

The built-in equalizer enables you to change the frequency response of the output signal; you can reduce the bass range and boost the treble range. The receiver also offers an adjustable output level range of 48 dB to match the audio input of your mixing board or PA system.

The back panel houses a balanced XLR output as well as an unbalanced 1/4" output. A kit is included for rackmount installation. The unit comes with a universal power supply and EU, US, UK, Korea, Australia, and China adapters.

To simplify and speed up your workflow, two RJ10 data networking ports allow you to daisy-chain up to 12 receivers and quickly perform a frequency setup for the entire multi-channel system via the Easy Setup function.

If you assign the frequencies manually, you can expand the setup to accommodate a maximum of 20 receivers. An RJ10 cable is included.

The detachable antennas with BNC sockets allow you to create a larger system using up to four EM 100 receivers connected to a single pair of remote antennas. This setup requires the ASA 214 active antenna splitter (available separately).

Adding a pair of A 1031-U omnidirectional antennas or a pair of A 2003 UHF directional antennas increases the range of your system and offers increased protection against interference.

Sennheiser offers a variety of lavalier, headset, and handheld microphone options to adapt your EW system as your needs evolve.

  • The discrete ME 2-II and MKE 2 lavalier mics provide exceptional clarity in spoken word applications.
  • The lightweight ME 3-II headset mic provides exceptional clarity in spoken-word applications.
  • The SKM 100 handheld transmitter is available with three different mic capsule options for presenters and performers who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can a powered shotgun mic work with Plug-On Transmitter instead of the handheld?

A: Yes, if you are using a self-powered shotgun mic. The transmitter does not supply phantom power.

Q: 2. Will the plug-on wireless transmitter attach properly to a side-exit XLR boom pole (particularly K-Tek Avalon), or will it not attach firmly enough, please? Would it be necessary to buy something like a K-Tek KlassicPro upgraded to their KPTA plug-on TX adapter? Is there another brand/model of boom pole that would suit the Sennheiser plug-on TX?

A: The SKP 100 G4 Plug-On Transmitter within the Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System may not attach firmly to a side-exit XLR connection on a boompole. The transmitter features a fastening collar to tighten however it is uncertain whether this is sufficient to prevent the connection from loosening. The KPTA Sidekick Plug-On may help in that it keeps the transmitter in a more ideal orientation.

Q: 3. Can I get a shotgun mic in this kit instead of the handheld?

A: The plug-on transmitter is designed to be used with dynamic microphones only, and will not work with a shotgun mic, which are condenser mics. The SKP500 will work with shotgun mics, but is not available in this kit configuration: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1385730-REG/sennheiser_skp_500_g4_gw1_skp_500_g4_pro.html

Q: 4. Will the condenser headset work with this system?

A: The SK100 bodypack transmitter will support condenser headset microphones, that use the 3.5mm locking connection, wired for Sennheiser. Here is an example: https://bhpho.to/3BUpB6s

Q: 5. When recording do the voices show up on just Left or Right or will they be on both?

A: If you are using the Supplied cable that sports the 1/8" mini to go into your Camcorder or DSLR camera, it will show up on both the right and left channel. If however you will be using the XLR cable, it will only record it to the channel that you connected the cable to on your camera.

Q: 6. What is the best frequency for primary use in Kansas City area? How long will this new mic system likely be legal to use per FCC anticipated rulings? I realize this is a bit of fortune telling, but just want to get a feel for it.

A: Any of the frequency bands will work well in Kansas City. The FCC has not announced any upcoming changes.

Q: 7. What kind of rack-mount hardware is in the box? How does it compare to Sennheiser GA-3?

A: The Sennheiser EW 100 G4-835-S Wireless Handheld Microphone System with MMD 835 Capsule contains a rackmount kit, which can be seen in the product image here: https://bhpho.to/4cpJGSy

Q: 8. Can I use two microphones with this?

A: Only one handheld mic can be used , if you need a second mic you will need to purchase a second unit

Q: 9. Is this works for ew300 g4?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 10. is this microphone supported on the control cockpit app?

A: Yes. According to Sennheiser; Sennheiser Control Cockpit is the central software for easy handling, control and maintenance of the entire SpeechLine Digital Wireless and evolution wireless G3 and G4 portfolio as well as the new TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphone.

[25 kHz] This kit is solid. I used it to mount two receivers side by side. Make sure you purchase the Sennheiser BNC Antenna Cables (extenders) to go along with the kit.

[Metal] The kit as ordered worked exactly as needed. But during the install process I noticed there wasn't a simple instruction sheet showing how to install this kit as a single rackmount or a dual rackmount system.

If a novice to rackmounting items wanted to use this simple kit it might cause confusion and make someone return this item for a refund.

[Metal] Our unit arrived quickly and on time from B&H. This unit is in the early stages of its use, but so far we have been impressed with its quality, functions and sound. We have multiple G3 units, but this G4 has better quality and range.
We use this in a large 100+ yr old Church, even with an outdated sound system. I can only imagine how impressive this would be with an updated sound system.
I would recommend this unit for those not feeling certain about what to purchase, and I would recommend purchasing it from B&H. Their service has always been Awesome.
Thank You

[Manual IP] I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to install, and finally gave up and looked at the photo - duh. It is very simple to install, had it done in 5 minutes. It provides a solid, secure mount for my Sennheiser countryman receiver.
