[White] Yes, it's incredibly expensive, but then you snap your photos and forget all about cost and go why, oh why didn't I buy this sooner. Sure there's setup and dismantling time, but they decrease with use and practice. Again, shoot, go ah So much love I'm feeling for my Octa Beauty that when shooting natural light only or ambient plus a reflector I'm often wishing I could bring this out. I love the flexibility of the light edges with this kit. Fantastic!

[Fabric] I use this with Profoto B1 monolights. It's extremely portable and compact which suits the portability of the lights.I can't compare with other beauty dishes as I haven't used any - but it works very well for portraits with just the deflector in place. Nice even crispy light and the deflector lets enough direct light through that you get a pretty clean catchlight (no black dot in the middle). I also got the grid and diffusor and it behaves similarly to my Profoto 3' Octa with those in place. It may in future replace the octa if I can't see much difference.I use it on a standard Profoto RFi speedring with no problems. Not having a Chimera one to compare with I don't know if the fit is any better, but mine looks just like the product shots when mounted so I assume any difference is minimal.The fabric is not as thick or tough as a Profoto softbox, but it seems quite robust.

[1.9 lb] True that this little octabox is pricey BUT, consider the materials used and light quality and your preferences to softness and portability, this is the ideal choice. You can purchase something similar that is made in some other country for a couple of dollars but, will it stand up to heavy use ? These units are made right here in the good ole USA and are used by discriminating photogs around the world. Yes, I would purchase again(despite high cost)

[21 x 4.5 x 4.2"] I was looking for a portable alternative to my Mola Demi dish- one that was collapsible and would accept a dual speed light speedring - and this was a perfect solution. The quality of light from this seems to be really beautiful, although I haven't yet done a head-to-head comparison with the Demi. I appreciate how light this collapsible dish is, and the fact that it accepts grids (which the cheaper Impact option doesn't).

[White] I really love this modifier. The build quality is great and the light quality is now one of my favorites. I've used it to make a dozen or so portraits and every time I love the results. Portraits Weddings Commercial Photography Its light weight and easy to use.

[Fabric] Haven't used it extensively, nor beauty dishes in general; a bucket with a shower curtain doubled over the front of it may produce the same kind of light. Needed something small, unobtrusive for tight spaces, portable and durable. Pretty much fit the bill. Light's soft as one would expect given the inner baffle bouncing light to the rear and off the sides, then thru the front diffusion. Easy to set up and quality material and craftsmanship, as one would expect from Chimera. There are cheaper alternatives, and maybe worth considering, but I'd rather pay a little more up front than deal with broken tines or failed fabric later.

[White] This is a brilliant design with the rod pockets sewn behind the dish so they do not cast reflections.  Precurved rods also make it easy to put together quickly.  I like this dish better than the umbrella style ones that I have.  If you need a portable beauty dish, this one is nice.

[White] After using both Profoto and Chimera light modifiers I've found Chimera to create a prettier light. The Octa 30' is creates beautiful wrap-around light. Great for portraits. Can't get much better than Chimera.
