The JBL JRX218S is a high-output passive subwoofer well suited for mobile entertainment, AV rental, event production, clubs, and performance venues. The 18" direct radiating driver requires a 1400W (peak) amplifier to deliver a frequency response from 250 Hz down to 54 Hz with a maximum SPL of 133 dB.

The JRX218S is crafted from 3/4" MDF with glued and mechanically fastened joints and features non-resonant handles on each side for ease in transport. The subwoofer sports a 1-3/8" pole cup, which allows the subwoofer to be used as a base for a mid-high speaker cabinet. An 18-gauge hexagon perforated steel grille protects the components from damage.

Q: 2. Will this fit the JBL EON718S?

Q: 8. What's the difference between this DRM 18S cab and the SRM 1850 cab? Why is there no specific sub for the SRM215-V-Flex cabs? I want to get the latter but your Mackie sub lines are confusing.

A: There are several differences between the two models and the best option would be based on your system and the type of application you would be using the subwoofer for. The DRM18S-P is a passive subwoofer capable of handling 500W RMS and 2000W peak power from a separate power amp. The SRM1850 is an active subwoofer which has a built-in power amp capable of producing 800W RMS and 1600W peak. The frequency response range and threshold for SPL are the same for both models. The DRM18S-P can be mounted on a pole or suspended while the SRM1850 is designed to be placed on the floor or stage and should not be pole mounted or suspended. I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you have additional questions or need further assistance.

Q: 9. What cable do I need to connect the IRX 12 to the IRX115S?

A: A standard XLR cable. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/845507-REG/Kopul_m4006_Kopul_Studio_Elite_4000.html

Q: 10. Can I use this for a bass guitar?

A: I'm afraid not. This is a sub for a PA system. If you need a bass amp buy one that's what they are for. The sub will not give you the control and articulation you would get from a bass amp;.

[98 dB] we use this sub woofer at church with 4 zx1 90 by ev its lightweight easy to handle it packs a low that could cause ur ears to hurt if too close. theres nothing not great about it.

[98 dB] I replaced the front speakers of my surround system with these. The slim profile looks great next to my tv, but the sound is large. When I listen to music, I just use these and my subwoofer and get the complete frequency range without adjusting any eq.

[86 lb] Now nearing our third year using the 835s as our FOH main speakers (with JBL subs, of course!) for our consistently-performing Modern Country/Classic Rock outfit, doing concerts with up to 600 in attendance; HIGH-QUALITY sound that reaches the back rows with clarity and punch... Nothing beats JBL components being unleashed through Crown power! THANKS, JBL for helping us "carry our show" to the people!

You get the Ultimate Lows that you would expect from this JBL 18. Unit is all Black & Attractive. Ty B&H for directing me to get this Subwoofer. Plays with two JRX 225, also from B&H.. Best Sound System..

[86 lb] *** NL4 Connectors? Really? I didn't plan on that! ***
This speaker is cute. Esthetically it matches our other new speakers. We bought the lower-rated version of the speaker. As a 15in speaker, it can hit, but we will keep tweaking it. It sounds likes the highs are good and the bottom is weak (but that may be the tuning remnants from our previous speaker)

For my solution, I don't want these to drive extremely hard. So far, they don't have any presence unless the vocalist eats the microphone.

We'll keep tweaking. These are replacing our Passive Peavy 15s. These don't have the same presence. They seem like 10s versus 15s.

I just connected today because I was waiting 6 days on NL4 connectors. I still think we are going to enjoy these.

I just hate that I didn't notice they require NL4 connectors. It's in the description, but I didn't notice. I didn't plan to shift to any NL4 systems. We bought 1/4 inch to NL4 connectors and are moving along.

These came via external B&H vendor. They were within scope for my delivery need date; however, these external vendors suck at providing updates regarding the delivery date.
