Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you properly balance a Nikon 500mm PF attached to a RRS LCF-11 & a Nikon D850 on a Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head?

A: Yes you can , they are ARCA compatible

Q: 2. The RRS LCF-11 seems way over priced. I can get the, Kirk LP-64 Replacement Lens Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens for $80. Does anyone know if their is a just cause for a $40 difference?

A: I have both the RRS on my 500PF and the Kirk on my 70-200mm. Both are first rate. The RRS has the ability to use the Magpul QD strap which the Kirk does not. Is it worth the extra $40? It is to me.

Q: 3. How to adapt it to Manfrotto MVH500 head ?

A: You may use the Kirk QR-AB1QR Universal Quick Release Adapter with Quick Release Clamp, B&H # KIQRAB1QR which will convert your MVH500 to an Arca compatible clamp system. https://bhpho.to/2XvBJFt

Q: 4. Is there a way to connect the Peak Design Anchor Connector to the foot in such a way that doesn’t interfere with the arca Swiss dovetail being used?

A: There is no way to attach a Peak Design Anchor Connector directly on the Really Right Stuff LCF-11 Replacement Foot for Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR and AF-S 500mm /5.6E PF ED VR Lenses without interfering with the Arca-type dovetail baseplate. However, you can attach the Peak Design Anchor Connector to a Really Right Stuff QD Strap Swivel (D-Loop) and quickly attach it to the replacement foot when not on the Arca-type dovetail baseplate: https://bhpho.to/3UBwIt1.

Q: 5. Will the QD work with Black Rapid camera straps?

A: Yes, the ProMediaGear Replacement Foot for Nikon 500mm PF & 70-200mm f/2.8FL, VR1 & VR2 with QD Strap Port is compatible with Black Rapid camera straps.

Q: 6. Will it be able to make the lens stands horizontally by itself?

A: Yes. It will stand horizontally both with a body and without.

Q: 7. Will this foot prevent accidental release?

A: Yes it will

Q: 8. Will this fit a AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8 E FL VR?

A: While that foot is compatible with the previous version of that Nikon lens, the Kirk Replacement Lens Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR and AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens B&H # KILP64 would be the more suitable. https://bhpho.to/2Jt31Y0

Q: 9. What is the difference between the QD and SS2 Quick Detach?

A: SS2 is a proprietary rapid disconnect system for a strap that ProMediaGear has in the ProMediaGear Replacement Foot for Nikon 500mm PF & 70-200mm f/2.8FL, VR1 & VR2 with SS2 Strap Port. I recommend purchasing QD as it is not proprietary and will work with QD strap accessories from other companies.

Q: 10. Does the lens foot allow the 500mm PF to have its lens hood reversed?

A: The ProMediaGear Replacement Foot for Nikon 500mm PF & 70-200mm f/2.8FL, VR1 & VR2 with QD Strap Port will allow the Nikon PF 500MM to have its head reserved.

[Aluminum] I wanted a replacement foot for the Nikon foot on my 500 pf lens. My requirements were that it be Arca Swiss-compatible with safety stop screws; be long enough to easily balance when mounted on a gimbal or be comfortable when using the foot as a handle when carrying; and not have the release lever, which has caused trouble for others when carrying the lens by the foot. Oddly, these requirements are not met by the majority of replacement feet. But this foot fulfills all those requirements and does so with grace.

[Aluminum] Replaced the foot on my Nikon 500mm pf. Easiest piece of equipment I've ever used. Solid fit, on in less than 2 mins.

[Yes] A must have for the 500 PF lens. Like all Pro Media Gear it is a excellent piece of gear. I’ve been shooting wildlife and birds hard with this on the lens and it works great. In the Arca Swiss tripod mount or as a handle when carried. This is the last one you will have to buy.

[0.235 lb] Well made replacement foot for the Nikon 500pf lens as well as the new Nikon 70-200 f2.8 lens. It has the Arca Swiss mount built in so you don’t have to add another plate unlike the Nikon foot.

[QD] Works perfect on my 500pf. Much better then the OEM foot. The extra length is great for hand carrying.

[QD] I've been using the factory foot on my 70-200 f/2.8 with an attached ARCA-Swiss plate for years and I've never liked the combination. I was shopping for a different item and ran across this item and thought, Heck, for $60, I'll give it a try. HOLY COW! Not only does this work well, but it's smaller than the combination I used to use and it looks way better. If you're using a foot and a plate, buy this. It's well worth the money!
