Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this the correct filter to use on a NiSi 150mm Holder System for the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8g lens? If so, would it prevent dust and sand from making contact with the lens?

A: You can fit a 6 x 6 filter into a 150mm filter holder. (The 6 x 6 is only 2mm larger) You would have to put the filter in the rearmost slot. This will protect the lens from direct hits. However, you may wish to do what we do on a movie set and use black paper tape to seal the filter so that no sand/dust/water droplets can get in. Permacel/Shurtape Pro Tapes and Specialties Pro 46 Paper Tape - 2 x 60 Yds (Black) B&H # PEPM46260B.

Q: 2. Is this the same glass used in the ND Filters?

A: It is the same grade of optical glass, but this particular style of that glass is the NiSi Water White glass. Other than that, though, it is the same H-K9L glass found in the standard NiSi ND filters.

Q: 3. How many stops of exposure does this reduce?

A: This will reduce 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 stops of light

Q: 4. Why does this filter turn?

A: You would turn the ring on this circular polarizer in order to correct for any glare/reflections or to deepen the color in your image.

Q: 5. Is this worth it? I see others that are half the price. Please get back to me!

A: For comparisons, please email us at photo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a so we can best assist you.

Q: 6. Can you screw a 58mm filter lens into/over the Nikon 52mm clear NC glass filter, or, must it be removed first? I have two other filters (UV and Circular Polarizing Filters) that have a 52mm screw in (for the 18X55mm lens) that step up to 58mm for adding other filters, etc.

A: The Nikon 52mm Clear NC Glass Filter has 52mm front threads. To attach a 58mm filter to that you will need step up ring, 52-58mm like this one,Sensei 52-58mm Step-Up RingB&H # SESUR5258 Mfr # SUR-5258a href= http://bhpho.to/1wGLxul target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1wGLxul/a

Q: 7. Does it have the front threads? If it doesn't, it cannot be used with Sensei 77mm Filter Stack Caps. They are very useful.

A: This filter does have front threads

Q: 8. May the Canon the 52mm filter be used on an EF-M 55-200mm lens in conjunction with an et-54B hood?

A: Yes this will fit that lens and can be used with the lens hood on.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Canon 25-105 lens? Does it being 58mm mean it can attach to any lens that has 58mm within its range?

A: The Canon 28-105mm lens will take a 58mm threaded filter, such as the 2188B001 Circular Polarizer. The size of 58mm refers to the size of the filter threads at the front end of a lens, so it will work with any lens that has a filter thread size of 58mm.

Q: 10. can this be used on the dual filter tray?

A: The Tilta 95mm Filter Protection Cover for Mirage Matte Box is a cover and is not meant to be used in any other manner.

[6 x 4.4 x 0.7"] This filter provides cheap insurance to protect the front element of your lenses. I put these filters on the front of our $30K HD zoom lenses. You could buy a box full of these filters for the price of repairing a scratch or ding in the front element of a lens. Tiffen's price on this filter was less than half of the same item from ....
