Vienna Symphonic Library SYNCHRON-ized Chamber Strings Sordinois a virtual instrument with a library that accurately captures the sound and expressiveness of muted small strings ensembles. The library is based on the VI Chamber Strings II library, which was updated, reedited, and mapped to improve playability with the included Synchron Player and deliver realistic chamber string performances right out of the box, for film and game scoring, trailer music, or sound design.

The ensembles of six first violins, six second violins, four violas, three cellos, and two double basses were recorded in the tightly controlled ambience of Vienna's purpose-built Silent Stage and virtually placed on the large Stage A of Synchron Stage Vienna using the Synchron Player's integrated convolution reverb technology.

The library comes with an enhanced set of deep sampled con sordino articulations taken from the original VI Chamber Strings II, with a clearly laid out and color-coded structure in the Synchron Player for an intuitive overview and quick access to the vast choices of playing techniques. The meticulously balanced volume levels of the entire sample database guarantee seamless note transitions when moving from one playing technique to the next. Velocity crossfading has been further optimized for extrasmooth volume changes.

Utilizing the Synchron Player's Release Sample technology along with the wide variety of optimized release sounds greatly increases the flexibility and usability of many articulations. Notes like détachés, fortepianos, crescendos, and diminuendos can be played at various lengths, while always triggering the correct release sounds to sound musical and natural.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the purpose of purchasing this item seperately, when it is included in the camera?

A: There door can be detached from the battery and therefore can be lost. The current EN-EL18 batteries do not come with the door and it's most likely the EN-EL18d will not either. So you can get a new door for new batteries.

Q: 2. Does this work with a Lewitt LCT540?

A: No this Auray ISO-ARMOR-2 model will not work with the Lewitt LCT540 model.

Q: 3. Would a Blue Yeti fit in this?

A: It would be a very tight fit on the Blue Yeti. I would consider using an Auray PFMU-12 Universal Wire Mesh Pop Filter with 12" Gooseneck (Matte Black), BH #AUPFMU12 with this mic, and an Auray RF-C12 Professional Desktop Isolation Filter (Gray), BH #AURFC12. These would pair well with the Blue Yeti.

Q: 4. What is the best mic stand for this?

A: There isn't really any one specific mic stand that is best for the ISO-ARMOR-2. It can be mounted on shorter desktop/tabletop stands and also on taller full-size floor stands. It's a matter of what works best for your application and the microphone your are using.

Q: 5. Will this work with the Apogee Mic+?

A: This shield is not recommended for the Apogee Mic+ due to it's smaller size, as well as potential issues regarding not having access to the gain and headphone controls on the mic if placed inside. A standard reflection would be better suited for this mic, such as B&H # AURFCMSK.

Q: 6. Does this help eliminate computer fan noise?

A: This would help to reduce fan noise from a pc. For best results, you would want to use this, spaced as far away from the pc as possible, with the rejection side of the mic facing the pc.

Q: 7. Has anyone tried using this outdoors on a boom pole as an inexpensive and portable sound blimp, even though it obviously wasn't designed for that purpose?

A: I have not heard of anyone using the Auray Iso-Armor 2 as a windscreen for boom poles. Typically a shotgun microphone would take sound from primarily the front of the microphone and the Auray Iso-Armor 2 is made for side address mirophones and blocking out background noise. It is not made to be used as a windscreen like a blimp would.

Q: 8. So can this cover be used with the EN-EL18c batteries (those batteries that can be used in the D850 camera) ? Will the EN-EL18c batteries work in the Z9 ?

A: No, the Nikon BL-7 Battery Chamber Cover is for the Z9 only. And it does not work on the D850. The Battery Chamber Cover for the D850 is this one, https://bhpho.to/3Fgw8HC

Q: 9. Will this work on a desk anchored boom with "Heil FL-2", supporting an AT2035 mic? I'm aware that it would accommodate the mic but wonder about the weight on the swivel boom?

A: No. This will not work wth a broadcast arm. Regardless of weight it is not designed to be mounted in such a fashion.

Q: 10. The word sensor is nowhere in the description. Are these for sensor cleaning or not?

A: these are not made for sensor cleaning per se. you need a swab with a wider tip. However, I use these to remove hard-to-clean smudges on the sensor. works well with a methane liquid. I've seen Leica technicians use these for that purpose. need to be careful, with a light touch.

[10.1 GB ] It's not a big sample library but the bell tones are excellent! I could not find a comparable library for this type of bell sound from the other big name sample library companies, so this fills a niche missed by others.

[10.1 GB] a great closely MICed string ensemble. great for small orchestra work. Definetly a learning curve to figure things out, but rewards when you do.

[Yes] Really fantastic big string sound in the VSL instrument family.

[Yes] Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets.

[Yes] LOTS of articulations that play well with each other. The Synchron Player is also much easier to use than either Kontakt based sample libraries or Vienna's earlier Vienna Instruments based libraries.

[Yes] This is my seventh virtual piano. See my review of the Bösendorfer also by VSL — this is just as supremely recorded and I prefer the Steinway sound. It's hard to see how anyone will ever do any better than this. There are 10 different microphone positions (plus the room mix which incorporates several of them in the standard library; I think the full library gives added richness). I use eight of them (not the Main or the main-C) and the plate reverb at 30% which I like better than the algorithmic reverb or the delay. If you can't afford the full, the standard will still be superior to anything else out there.

[Standard] Best piano library I've experienced. Vibrant sound, customization and dynamics are all there. If you are into CFX or trying to add it to your arsenal, do not hesitate.

[Yes] The Synchron interface is SO much easier to use (than the former Vienna Symphonic Instruments plugin). Sound quality and playability are impeccable.

[Standard] Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets. Note that Elite sits somewhere between Chamber and Pro/I orchestra in terms of number of strings. I find that the number of strings in the Pro/I orchestra is enough that you lose some of that sense of 'bow on string'. With Elite you still hear some of that 'bow on the string'. Layering Elite on Pro is also really useful.
