The rings are made from durable aluminum and can also accommodate round screw-in filters, such as a circular polarizer or ND filter. [Screw] Adds an additional ring (86mm) to the kit as well as a carrying bag. This should be included with the matte box, but at least you get a bit of an upgrade over the base kit. If using an 82mm Tiffen VND inside, it will only just fit in the opening of the matte box. Threads on the inside of the adapters is a welcome addition that will make all of your circular filters usable with a great matte box. 5

[114 mm] Durable and robust. The thread and be difficult to start without cross-threading, so it pays to take your time. Also be careful when removing the piece to avoid dropping it as the threads can disengage rather suddenly. 5

[86 mm] The SmallRig matte box adapters work perfectly. My only gripe is you have to purchase a pack and not just the ones you need. I purchased DZOFilm lenses (from B&H) for my camera and did not have a filter adapter for my matte box of choice. I easily searched and found the adapters on B&H. Ordering was easy, and the receipt was flawless. Installation of the adapter was as simple as threading the adapter onto the lense threads. Then attach the matte box to the adapter, and go shoot. 5
