[0.455 lb] I have been really happy with my first set of these headphones from like 5 years ago that I just bought a 2nd.

[Black] If you want a good sound experience on a low budget. It's worth it. Of course, it really isn't durable. (its skin) but not that much.

[Cordura] I'm a radio professional who does a LOT of editing with headphones on, and these have been my favorite headphones for decades. They work great and they're very durable. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a really good, reliable set of headphones. I even got this pair on sale -- that was a nice bonus!

[Black] Comfy. Sounds great. I don't notice any difference between these and the MDR-V6 that I used to have. (I use them to listen to my MacBook Pro and iPad right out of their headphone ports - nothing fancy.)

[Cordura] A great replacement for the discontinued Sony MDR-V6. Not as flat audio response as the V6 but close enough for video editing work. These are durable, easy on the ears (after break-in period) and help me deliver a consistent sound to my clients. A true classic and a reasonable price.

[Cordura] I bought these and they work well with my setup. I just wish they had a noise cancellation feature, but that would probably make them more expensive.

[0.455 lb] This is my second pair of these headphones, which are classic and mostly the workhorse people make them out to be. The last pair kicked the bucket after daily use 6-7 years. I opted for an open box deal at B&H which pulled the price down a bit, and I was nervous that they'd be less-than-new in some way, but BH did a beautiful job inspecting the product and repackaging, and honestly you wouldn't know they aren't brand new.

[Black] This is my second pair of these Sony headphones (my first well-worn pair I gave to one of my kids, and she's still using them several years later). They're not as spacious sounding as my beloved Sennheiser HD600s, but they're much more portable, so perfect for travel, and the neutral sound is ideal for the kind of work I do as a music journalist. They're quite comfortable, too, and surprisingly durable given that you take some care with them. I haven't done a whole lot of comparison listening, but I've tried quite a few headphones over the decades and these seem to be an true bargain if you want an excellent pair of cans for less than $100.

[Black] Prior to this I had been using a hand-me-down pair of higher-end Sony headphones, but sadly one speaker finally gave out. Since pleased with a prior B&H purchase, I headed over to see what they had. Despite these being lower price-point than what I had been using, this hasn't felt like a downgrade at all! (And I bought mine on an open-box deal so they were especially budget-friendly.)

I'm no pro, but I do love listening to music & learning about music, so sound-quality is important to me. I think these are great, though perhaps someone with music-production experience could offer better comment.

Two notes, not really negative but just commenting: buy the deeper ear-pads (or add your own). I wear these for listening to music or podcasts, so I'm not wearing them 24/7 for work, but even so, if I have them on for a few hours while at my desk doing projects, I will say my ears hurt a bit. Not sure if this is affected by pressure-points since I wear glasses? However, my old headphones had good padding and I didn't notice the problem. When buying these new ones, I decided against spending more for the deeper cushions at the time, and I'm kind of regretting it.

Second comment, the adjusters to change where the pads sit over your ear, do slip a little. Every few on-offs I have to put them back to where they should be to sit correctly on my ear. This doesn't really bother me, but just commenting for those who might be particularly annoyed by this.

Overall: great product, good sound, well-made, easy to fold up into a compact shape (plus it comes with a felty storage pouch). I also love the coiled cord, which stretches if need-be but otherwise stays compact, not this endless cord going everywhere on your desk or workspace.

A little pricey if you don't need them, but if you're an earphone wearer (vs. earbud) I think you will be glad to invest in something that will hold up.
