Q: 1. I have a MSI Z97 MPower Max AC motherboard that takes M.2 SATA or M.2 PCIe. My spec doesn't say anything about NVMe compatibility. I would like to know if this drive is still compatible with my board?

A: This chip is M.2 interface via PCIe throughput. The memory chip type on board is NVMe which should not affect compatibility.

Q: 2. Does it work in a Dell Desktop XPS 8930?

[Samsung Pablo] On a whim, I am going slightly above the DS1821+ required M.2 cache.

At this point, these work AMAZING and provide excellent performance boosting for all the files I'm transferring over.

Quick, well packaged, safe to install and ... a great addition to the NAS that will further boost performance.

[150 TB] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using Samsung products ever since I swapped to m2s from SSDs. They are super fast and provide reliable performance.
I concurrently own the 970 EVO Plus, 980 Pro and now the 980 all at 1 TB storage capacities. Each of them have been very fast, significantly faster than any standard SATA SSD's and the 980 is no exception.

I'm very happy with the performance but agree with the argument that NVMe PCI Express Gen 4 drives would likely not really make a huge difference over fast PCIe Gen3 SSD drives. Also the drives obviously cost more.

I'm currently using a the 980 pro for the operating system and the 1tb 980 for storing games and load times are blazing fast. This is a very high quality product and you won't be disappointed in the performance.

[150 TB] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed extra storage for the videos that I edit. I picked up this 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD because I had read good things about the speed and reliability. Installing it was a breeze. I formatted the drive to my liking and edited some videos to test out the speed. This drive was blazing fast. It also allowed me to export faster because the encoder wasn't being bogged down by the drive speed. As for reliability, I transferred files to and from this drive and it never lost performance in the time I have had it. I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone looking for more storage for their laptop or desktop.

[0.165 lb] This was my first jump into the PCI2 M.2 internal SSD field. I have them enclosed in an external enclosure (OWC Express 4M2) and due to the limitations of that unit, had no need for the faster M.2 SSD's. These are blazing fast configured as a RAID, but also extremely fast as JBOD. Highly recommended by me.

[0.165 lb] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with this little SSD. I have used other NVMe SSDs and did not have a good experience with their speed benefits until I came across this one. I thought I would give a Samsung M.2 NVMe SSD a shot and I am very glad I went with this 1TB model. It is able to quickly boot my computer, transfer large video and photo files from my scuba diving trip to Cozumel (GoPro), and works perfectly for my video games. All in all, if you are looking for an all-in-one solution, I recommend this NVMe drive. Don't make the mistake of going with a slightly cheaper model - the logic controller on this drive is worth the money.

[150 TB] B&H shipped this in a padded envelope which was crushed on one end. Samsung's packaging prevented damage to the product. Very easy installation & setup using windows computer management to format. Great for storage of edited photos & videos. Runs a little warmer than my 970 pro & 970 EVO drives but only by about (2 C). Write speed is faster but read speed is about the same as the 970's.

[Samsung Pablo] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung SSD 980 was simple to install. It delivered the advertised speeds. It was immediately recognized by my BIOS. OS boot times are short and programs load from it in a snap. Perfectly suits my needs. Would purchase again if I need more space.

[150 TB] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking to upgrade my current gaming PC and was very pleased to find out that it had a second available slot for this 500Gb SSD. I figured it will be perfect way to a boost for gaming or a seamless workflow for heavy graphics, the 980 is a smart choice for outstanding SSD performance - and it's all backed by an NVMe interface and PCIe 3.0 technology.
The install was very easy, as they say "plug and play". You can use the optional Samsung Magician software with it which is pretty neat and useful as well. The drive itself states read speeds up to 3500Mb/s however after doing some testing I was not able to replicate that kind of speed, however all the applications loaded up quickly and after doing some transfers back and forth, it worked amazingly fast.
If you still use a spinning drive I would absolutely recommend replacing it with this SSD drive (or even better with a Pro version of it), you will see your OS boot up in seconds, read and write speeds will be quick which will improve your work flow. Samsung is a reliable brand for SSD media and this NVMe M2 is an awesome alternative to any other competition in this area. I received this product at a discounted price for my honest opinion.
