With its space-saving design, the LPS Low-Profile Right-Angle TA4F Connector Black Capis ideal for cabling lavalier microphones into Shure wireless transmitters, or for creating DC power cables for Sound Devices Scorpio, 888, and 833 field recorders. Its large cap has a cable outlet that accommodates cabling with diameters up to 5mm while offering 60 degrees of adjustment swing at the left or right side, allowing optimal placement in an array of configurations. This variant features gold pins, a black shell, and a black cap. Optional caps in other colors can be used to create color-coded connectors.

A: Yes, with a 75mm bowl adapter.

Q: 5. Will the RRS TA-4-LB Leveling Base fit on an FLM CP38-L4 II tripod (this tripod has a 100mm bowl head area?)

A: According to RRS, the TA-4-LB fits on most standard 100mm diameter bowl tripods. The one thing I would caution is that the low-profile knob sits very close to the apex/spider of the tripod and it might be hard to operate in certain situations depending on how your tripod is set up/situated.

Q: 7. From the pictures shown I do not see how this attaches to a tripod. Is it possible to mount it between a manfrotto tripod and a Gitzo ball head?

A: The Really Right Stuff TA-3 Leveling Base with Low-Profile Knob and Platform with 3/8"-16 Stud can fit on a tripod that has a 75mm video bowl.

Q: 8. I want to use this antenna for the VR Field, but do I need to choose all my transmitters to the same Block as this antenna for it to work?

A: This antenna is designed for devices operation in Block 22 only.

Q: 9. It does not look possible to attach the hook that comes with the series 3 apex to the low-profile knob, as the hook is attached via a 3/8" screw. But the only place for a screw that I see in the picture is used to mount the low-profile knob and it's a female hex shape. Is this an accurate assessment?

A: Correct this would be an accurate assessment, there would not be an easy way to attach the the hook that comes with the Series 3 Apex to this head unfortunately.

Q: 10. I have two Gitzo tripods, models GT1541T and GT2545T. How do I mount this leveling base to these tripods?

A: No, the GT1541T and GT2545T both do not offer 75mm ball drops in order to adapt to the Really Right Stuff TA-3 leveling base.

[Gold] High-quality metal assembly. I didn't realize these were metal when I ordered them, so I was pleasantly surprised. They're about as compact as you can get, so if you're putting together something for a small recorder (like the Zoom F3 or any device with closely-spaced XLRs), they're a good choice. The end caps secure with two set screws. If you're building some kind of custom assembly, you can discard the end caps and secure your assembly into the barrel by shaping it (or 3-D printing it) to fit in the barrel and be gripped by the screws. The one concern I'd have is that the exit hole for a cable (which is a notch in the edge of the end cap, so it comes out sideways), is quite small. You couldn't fit a typical XLR cable through it. Pic attached. Final note: When you open the ziploc these things come in, be careful: The tiny set screws are loose in there, and if they fall out, you WILL lose them. 5

[0.025 lb] Works great as an adapter for my under desk mounted 4i4. Being able to rotate the back end around to direct the cable in whichever direction on both ends is nice. Hex is small though so you'll need the right size bit to make it work, H0.9 size worked for me. 5

[0.025 lb] I had some challenges getting my mic cable plugged into the XLR fitting on the back of my new Boss rc-500 looper pedal on a tight pedalboard. For best access to the looper pedal while performing, I need to have the rc-500 in the 'front row', and that makes all straight xlr plugs, as well as most right angled plugs impossible to fit. I just soldered this onto a good mic cable, and it lines-up pins & holes, just as I need it to. 5

[Gold] I used this connector to make a low-profile power plug for my new Canon C400. Ability to rotate the input of the cable into the plug 360º is super useful. It allowed me to shortest cable from the V-mount plate to the XLR power input on the camera (see picture). 5
