A: It might be possible to find a similar filter but it would be hard. Specially an effect where the subject looks soft and the background highlights look rounded and bloomed.

A: Yes the Lensbaby Velvet 56mm f/1.6 Lens for Canon EF (Black) will work fine on a crop sensor like the Canon 7D II. It is 1:2 magnification. So, not good as one that is 1:1 for macro shots but it can work. If the items are very small it will fill the frame.

Q: 7. The lens cap does not sit, if a filter is attached to the lens. Since the lens cap does not have any clamping mechanism, is there any way to keep the lens cap on?

[f/2.5] I was thinking of getting this lens for a while and was not sure if I would not be able to have fun with. After having it on my canon 90D I started to enjoy it since then . It slows down your time and enhances your photography philosophy -improves your mindfulness. Creativity wise it is a must - hocus pocus lens at or below f4-. At and after f8 it’s a perfect lens for landscapes and lens quality is superb. Macro shots… highly recommended… I am impressed by its macro shots. [Full-Frame] I purchased this lens baby lens along with another lens baby lens. I love both of them but wanted to note you may need to change a setting on your camera to allow it to take a picture without a lens. After I made that adjustment I have thoroughly enjoyed the capabilities of this lens and am looking forward to using it on an upcoming photography trip! 5

[67 mm (Front)] My first manual lens. I was apprehensive to buy this lens. When it went on holiday sale, I pulled the buy button. It took me a few minutes to get the lens to work with my Canon RP. Once the sitting are set I begin to take some shots. The more shots I took the better I got and the more I liked this lens. I've not been able to take any macro shots yet. But if this lens can accomplish portrait, landscape and macro shots, I place it in the amazing category. My pics are sharp, colorful and seems to provide unlimited control of the background. I'm very impressed. 5

[12] B&H made this purchase very simple - great service. The Velvet 28mm is my first Lensbaby - well constructed and performs optically as desired - beautiful glow when the aperture is opened up. I also purchased the Burnside 35mm, Obscura 22mm, Omni and few optics for my Composer II. I've been very happy with my Lensbaby products. 5

[0.5x] I already had purchased a couple traditional Lensbaby products and a Velvet 56 which are all really fun! I do enjoy the wide 28 mm look in my scenes and this one using f 2.8-4 does have both glow and a unique sharpness that is quite appealing. The macro ability adds to its charm. It's a surprisingly large lens, but is built nicely. It focuses smoothly, aperture ring is not too clicky, but works well; its image is the best part! (I personally like this silver color lens on my (black) Sony's as a novelty and easily defines this from my Velvet 56. It's a definite go in all respects! 5
